Story
Winnie was born on 11/6/22 to a rottie mom at the high kill shelter of Barc in Houston, Texas. Winnie is now a 16 months old puppy who weighs 45 lbs. She is very loving, and loves to get affection. She is highly intelligent, sensitive, energetic and will do great with an active family. She will love to have a second young or playful dog in her forever home. She is very smart, and loves to learn. A fully fenced yard will be mandatory for her. She even tolerates her kittie foster siblings although we will prefer a home without cats. Winnie is about 45 lbs, current on vaccination, spayed and microchipped. Winnie is being fostered in Texas, but can be adopted anywhere in the States, even Canada. To adopt our puppies, yards, if any, must be fully and adequately fenced. We do not accept invisible fences. To meet this sweet girl via facetime or whatsapp, please send your application to savesomesouls.com

Story
Meet Kasper, a stunning Rottweiler whose journey to finding a loving home has been marked with resilience. Formerly known as Kenji, he was discovered on the roadside, enduring injuries and severe malnourishment. Despite his challenging past, Kasper is a sweet and young boy who deserves a second chance at happiness. This gorgeous lad is fantastic with other medium to large dogs when introduced properly, but he's not suited for households with small dogs or cats. Kasper is a quick learner, especially when treats are involved – his eagerness to please makes training a breeze. He's mastered commands like sit, lay, stay, and more! House-trained and impeccably well-mannered indoors, he knows the ropes and doesn't engage in destructive behavior like chewing. Kasper's loyalty shines through, a trait inherent in his breed. However, due to his cautious nature around quick movements, a home without children would be the ideal environment for him. Rottweiler enthusiasts understand the importance of structure, rules, and safety in nurturing these amazing companions. Kasper simply needs a chance to showcase his true colors and thrive with someone patient, committed, and understanding of the responsibilities that come with caring for a family member. If you're ready to open your heart and home to Kasper, whether through fostering or adopting, please fill out an application on our website at www.scoutshonor.org. Let's provide Kasper with the love, care, and stability he deserves, ensuring he blossoms into the loyal and devoted family member he's destined to be!April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
Meet Livia, also known by her formal title, Livia Drusilla!   Livia's journey hasn't been easy—she arrived at BARC with a heartbreaking injury to her front leg. Her foot was gone, leaving behind an infected stump that caused her immense pain. To ensure her comfort and well-being, we had to amputate her entire leg. But here's the incredible thing—Livia doesn't let it slow her down one bit! She navigates the world with grace and, believe it or not, has some sneaky skills like reaching for kitchen treats if you're not watching closely.   She's a sweetheart through and through, always seeking affection and companionship. Her favorite spot is curled up next to you or nestled in your lap, reveling in all the pets and cuddles she can get. Livia's a social pup and gets along with other dogs, provided they're introduced properly. However, she's not a fan of our feline friends. At around 3 years old, weighing about 60 pounds, Livia's got the most adorable wavy hair. But her cutest feature? It's that one long, curly patch of hair atop her head that sticks up like Alfalfa—truly irresistible! Won't you be the hero in Livia's story? She's ready for a second chance at life, and we promise she's an absolute delight. Her resilience and unwavering spirit will warm your heart every day. Ready to welcome this incredible girl into your life? Reach out to us at info@scoutshonor.org to give Livia the loving home she deserves. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143&#226&#156&#168 April 21, 2024, 9:22 pm

Story
LOVES BELLY RUBS AND GIVES KISSESEst. DOB 10/8/18, Weight ~ 65 lbs I’m Buster, a sweet, happy, eager-to-please, playful Boxer/ Black Mouth Cur mix fella who loves “marathon” belly rubs and snuggling for hours with my human dad on the sofa or the bed. When he sits on the floor with me, I love to lie across his lap and give kisses. I’m very loyal and doting with my human dad, with whom I’ve bonded tremendously, and I follow him everywhere. I’m respectful and trustworthy with children outside the coffee shop and on walks. A bonus is that I have a very soft mouth when I take treats and toys. Speaking of walks, I love them! But, True Confessions – I’m working on my leash manners so I don’t get overly stimulated by cats, squirrels, or certain other dogs. I really enjoy the company of most other dogs, whether playing or lounging around together.  Moderate exercise not only stimulates me physically but mentally too. I’ve been through obedience training and I “sit,” “down,” and “place” on command (for the most part). The trainer says that I’m a quick learner because of my treat-motivation. I’ve had a rotating cast of dog walkers, and they all applaud how people-friendly I am. With proper introductions, I meet new people and strangers easily – with the exception of people who ring that annoying doorbell. I’ve come a long way from when I was rescued at BARC, Houston’s City shelter. You know, there are advantages to adopting an adult dog like me who’s past the stage of puppy-craziness. I’m crate-trained and know how to use the doggy door. I’m not a digger and I don’t destroy anything that isn’t a toy -- other than a couple of pillows. I’ve been a loving adopted canine brother for many months but now my canine brother's anxiety has gotten worse, to the point where it is hard for us to be together therefore it’s better that I find a new home since he was here first.  So, I’m available for adoption again! If you’re looking for a big, gentle boy who’s a bundle of love, I fit the bill!! And I’m flexible – I can live in an apartment as long as I get adequate exercise or a home with a backyard for chasing the tennis ball.  I’d love to be the star of the show and get all of your love, i.e., not have to share you with another dog in the home, but I’d still like going to Day Care, the dog park, and play dates with my canine friends. Arrange to meet me, and remember, I’ve never met a stranger!
