Story
Shay is a wonderful young dog that craves affection and company. She was found as a stray so we have no medical background. She appears very healthy with no medical issues found. She is very active, however she is good on a leash and is crate trained. She does like to jump up so she needs some training. NOTE: The shelter's budget does NOT cover vet exams for these animals. We recommend that each adopted animal get a complete Veterinary exam (including fecal), within about a week of adoption. June 26, 2026, 12:14 am

Story
Meet Mia a 4-year-old, 70-80 lb fully vaccinated and spayed beauty who thrives in a structured environment and has consistently proven herself easy to work with, responsive, and eager to please. Mia is looking for a calm, confident adopter who can offer her the routine and structure, which is where she thrives! She'll do well in a dog-savvy home and gets along with other dogs when management is clear and calm. We recommend a home without young children; teens may be fine with guidance. Over the years, she's completed several training programs--passing each with flying colors! . To support her in her next chapter, Happy Gentle Dogs will provide a complimentary Board & Train before adoption, along with a smooth, hands-on transfer and follow-up support to set everyone up for success. Mia has a solid foundation and a big heart. If you're ready to meet her with patience and purpose, we'd love to hear from you. If you feel your home might be the right place for such a great dog - the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt. Once submitted, the foster will contact you promptly to tell you more and to arrange a time to meet! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Mia is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so ongoing care and custody are provided by their foster, not by DFWRM.June 20, 2026, 2:37 am

Story
I am currently getting out of a domestic violence relationship, I became a single mother of 2 under 2 ever since he was arrested. I originally adopted her from pet smart when my relationship was doing okay a couple years ago. She is chipped, spayed and up to date on her shots. She is currently eating "Taste of the Wild- Venison and Bison" dog food, she is very sweet with kids and is a very loving dog. When I rescued her originally from the petsmart she was the only dog in the kennel room that wasn't barking like crazy, she kept to herself and she was around 3 months old when I got her. Due to being a single mother, and a full time college student, and about to be working soon I no longer have the time for her. It absolutely breaks my heart to let her go but I just can't keep up with everything all at once. She needs to go to someone who can show her love and affection and preferably a huge yard or even farm land. She loves running around and doing agility courses and is fully trained.
