Mowgli – Male Shepherd/Akita Mix | Approx. DOB: 02/27/2024 | ~65 lbs Mowgli is a 1-year-old Shepherd/Akita mix (~65 lbs) who is really coming into his own in foster care. As he gets more comfortable, his playful, affectionate personality shines brighter every day. This handsome boy loves to play—whether it’s tug-of-war, entertaining himself with toys, or a game of fetch (he’s still working on bringing it back). He’s also a great jogging companion and happily keeps pace, making him a perfect match for an active home. Mowgli does great with other dogs and enjoys having canine friends. He can get a little excited when meeting new dogs, so slow, calm introductions help set him up for success. With people, Mowgli may be a bit shy at first—but once he warms up, he is incredibly sweet, gentle, and loyal. He’s done very well with his foster family, including children. He appears to be house trained and is currently working on crate training. He may protest briefly at first, but he settles nicely and continues to improve each day.
