PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.1/17/26 Prudence and Princeton are a happy, sweet, little bonded pair of Shih Tzus (possibly mixed with Lhasa Apso?). These 2 precious babies were found as strays, and it was later found that their owner had moved and left them behind. Prudence is the girl and she has the darker coloring. She is slightly smaller than her brother. They are both around 15 lbs. They are a little bit shy at first, but warm up quickly with a little bit of baby talk. They have been with their foster for a little while now because it took a while for us to fit them into the spay/neuter schedule. Princeton has a cherry eye that will be surgically fixed next week. Once that is done, they will be ready for their own home! We feel that it is important for their mental health to be kept together, because they are very bonded to one another. They both seem to be young, around 2 years old. They will need a little help with house training, but they do well in their crate at their foster home. Once they are in their own home where they can receive more individual attention, they will learn faster. It is difficult to work on training in their current foster situation. These little ones are going to be such a great addition to someone's family! Prudence and Princeton are located in Arkansas. They can be adopted locally, but transport is available to the New England area as well. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them in PA, NY, or CT on Saturdays. To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 Message us or email apps.aasr@gmail.com with any questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion. Story
Meet Pepper, a super cute 8 year old spayed female shih tzu mix, currently weighing about 20 lbs! Pepper was overweight (26 lbs) when she came to us - her foster mom has done a wonderful job putting her on a diet and working some exercise into her daily routine to get her to a healthier weight. She should probably drop a couple more lbs to get to her ideal weight.  Pepper came to us as a local owner surrender, through no fault of her own. She has been loved her whole life, however her family made the difficult decision to rehome her after she became very stressed out by the toddler and young baby in her home. She is a sweet girl who would do best in a calm, quiet home, as loud noises and chaos (little kids running around, etc.) make her nervous/anxious.  This little lady is friendly and has done great with all new people she has met! No issues with men at all. Due to her anxiety around young children in her previous home, we think she would do best in a home with older kids 12+ who know to respect a dog's space, or no kids. She is good with other dogs of all sizes and energy levels. She has not been cat tested, but we feel she would likely do fine with cats. She is quiet and laid back, on the lower energy side and a pretty low maintenance dog!  Pepper has recently had a dental and had many of her teeth pulled, but she has no problem eating dry food. She also eats rx urinary food due to previous bladder stones.  From Pepper's current foster:  "If someone can get past her funny snaggletooth, she’s a great dog! When you say “it’s bedtime” she runs happily into the crate. She comes to her name and has excellent house manners. Pepper likes napping, being around her people, belly rubs, finding soft blankets to cuddle in, likes going for walks (she gets so excited when she sees me put my coat on thinking she’s going for a walk). She walks great on leash! She is a quiet and calm girl who loves attention, but she does fine in the crate too."  Pepper is medically up to date, housebroken, and crate trained. Apply to meet this special girl today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2618180##

Story
Meet Ralphie. This poor little guy was found tied to a chain-link fence in Hartford, abandoned, absolutely terrified and riddled with fear. He ended up at the Hartford town pound where we pulled him. It took a long time for him to begin to start to come out of his shell. Now he is a happy, happy boy and wagging his tail and playing with toys. He gets along great with all the other dogs and does enjoy interacting with them. He is a snuggle bug as well. Ralph does have one issue with some resource guarding. We have been working on this with him and he’s come a long long way. He now will eat his dinner amongst all the other dogs with their bowls on the floor in the kitchen together. However, he can still become possessive of a special toy or his bed or something you drop on the floor that he happens to grab. Due to this resource guarding, we are saying no small children. But with love and patience and continue training, he’s going to make someone a great companion. Ralphie is approximately two years old, 11 pounds and male. We think he is a Shih Tzu mix. He is vetted and neutered. Please visit our website at https://sites.google.com/view/muddymoosemutts/home or email pawrescued2016@gmail.com for an application. His adoption fee is $525.
