Story
DOB 4-30-2025 DeChen is looking for his new home and Mom! He's a beautiful Shih Tzu with a good personality, loves to play and gets along with others. DeChen is complete on all medical, up to date on shots, neutered, heartworm negative and has received a ProHeart6 preventative injection. This boy will come with all his registration and medical papers. His adoption fee is 900.00, his transport fee is 165.00. Our transport is HEARTS LLC, they are the best and deliver to East Coast every other week. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an online adoption application. You can find a copy of that application here. We sometimes receive a lot of interest on an animal and can't always reply to each email in a timely manner. An application does not obligate you to adopt from us, but it does show that you are serious about the adoption process. Please remember we are all volunteers. After you submit your application please allow a few days for a volunteer to review your application. During this time your vet reference will be checked and a volunteer with determine if it is the best match for you and the animal. Applications are not approved on a first come, first serve basis. We match up the best home for the animal, so even if the pet has other applications, this does not mean he/she will be adopted to that home. Once your application has been approved a volunteer with contact you to set up a phone interview. This is the perfect time for you to ask any questions you have about the adoption process and the animal you are interested in.

Story
Oreo is a sweet and timid 2.5 lb Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix born in foster care on 11/19/2025. She is a very careful listener; as you can see in the attached video, she has already successfully picked up the "sit" command. Oreo is a bit clumsy, but she is very affectionate and always likes to have physical contact with people or other dogs. While she is quite playful with others, she hasn't shown much interest in toys just yet but would love a home with a canine companion to show her the ropes. Due to her small size, a home with young children is not appropriate. Given her age, her new home should have the time and patience required to continue her basic training. Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
Baby Bruno is an adorable 3 lb Shih Tzu/Chihuahua mix born in foster care on 11/19/2025. He is a confident, energetic, and playful dog with a wonderful spirit. One of his most endearing habits is carrying toys in his mouth and running around, regardless of whether the toy is significantly larger than he is. This cutie also loves to cuddle! Due to his small size, a home with young children is not appropriate. Baby Bruno is working on his basic training. Given his age, his new home should have the time and patience required to continue this training. Story
Sister Sister!!  8 years old and only 8 lbs each. These tiny ladies are Bonded, which of course means they MUST be adopted together.  We really can't say what breeds they may be, but does that really matter when you look at those adorable faces???  The girls are starved for attention and pretty much will let you know when they want it!  But hey, they deserve all the love and attention they get.  They were surrendered to the Staten Island Shelter for no fault of their own, and are waiting for the new family or companion to adopt them.  Room for two delicious little girls??? Good with dogs and cats. Children 13+ please Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only. Also, we have a very high volume of applications and we are all volunteers. We cannot respond to every application personally. Please make sure your application gives us a good picture of your family and the life you plan on providing a dog from our rescue. We choose a home based on the BEST FIT for EACH dog and approve on a dog by dog basis. Thank you! ##2559977##

Story
Meiko is a 10 year old boy who adores being petted. He is very calm and has the sweetest disposition.  Meiko loves to eat so he is on a bit of a diet to get his weight down, but other than being a bit chunky, he is still active and enjoys being with other dogs and people of all ages.   Please go to the link to fill our our adoption application.  https://www.remembermerescueny.net/adoption-application  Remember Me Rescue does not adopt out of the local area, no transport is available.  We adopt to Long Island, Westchester, NYC area and parts of Connecticut only.
