Has cataracts but seems to get around fine. Very loving likes to sleep in bed with owner. Not demanding happy with food and love! Current owner is a senior female with health problems unable to care for Gidget. Wants to find a loving home for her!

Jack is a sweet 10 year old, 15 lb. Shih Tzu mix. Jack is super chill (calm), happy, and lovable. He loves snuggling and watching TV. He’s great on walks, likes everyone, and is perfectly housetrained. Make sure you have lots of toys, especially squeaky ones, because he loves playing with them. Jack would do best with another laid-back dog, but he will also be okay as an only pup in the house. Jack was diagnosed with and treated for lyme disease - his prognosis is excellent. Hi, my name is Bishop, I am a 12yr (DOB 11/01/11) Shih Tzu. I'm on the fluffy side at 23lbs. My Mom just passed away recently and all of my aunts/uncles all have too many pets for me to live with them so they sent me to the best rescue ever. My Foster Mom is helping me to adjust to all the immediate changes in my life right now. I might nip you if I feel scared of you at first. I love to meet other dogs and people. The smells outside are so fun to explore. I love walking, the fact that my front feet curve outward a tad doesn't affect my gait in any way so, it's all good. Another dog (Pom) and a cat live here too. I chase the cat (I've never been around one before) every chance I get. I know a few commands but I will probably ignore you while I enjoy exploring. I would love to find a family that wants to snuggle with me and let me be by your side at all times. Please let me see if we are a match so I can shower you with my charm. Feb 2024: Summer is approx 4 and 20 lbs. She has to have a fenced yard with an active playmate. If she has both of those she is a fantastic fun loving pup. She is also mostly house trained if she has fence and playmate. Summer loves playing with the foster's Great Dane and Dachshund. She is crate trained. She is not fond of grooming, so you will need an experienced fear free groomer. Summer was found as stray with a male. She was completely matted. At approximately 2-3 years old and 15 lbs. she was obviously used for breeding and has no socialization. She is trying hard to trust. She has tons of personality but is still very tentative to touch. She does submissive pee if you pick her up. Foster is working on getting her to go into her crate, once she does, she is fine. She has very few accidents in the house if gotten out often enough. She is very playful but can be pushy (not a mean pushy) Does great with all sizes of dogs. In her foster home she plays with a Doxie and runs the backyard with a Great Dane. Freds Mission Rescue has an adoption radius of 100 miles from Cincinnati. All dogs are fully vetted, altered, current on flea/tick/heartworm/wormer, and microchipped.
