Story
(01/04/26) FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Haunter! Haunter is a 4-year-old, 15 lb Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix with the cutest little underbite and a soft, fluffy coat. He’ll need a home committed to regular grooming to keep him comfortable and looking his best. Haunter came to us from a difficult past where he missed out on early socialization, and because of that, the outside world can feel overwhelming for him. He is very fearful in unfamiliar environments, especially with loud noises and busy surroundings, and he will need continued support learning the basics—including leash walking—at his own pace. For this reason, Haunter will do best in a standalone home with a fully fenced yard. Apartments or high-traffic living situations would not be a good fit for him. At heart, Haunter is a gentle, loving boy who just wants to feel safe. He loves being close to his person, enjoys being held, and prefers a calm, predictable lifestyle. He has not shown to be a high-energy or playful dog and would thrive in a quiet home where he can move at his own pace while slowly building confidence with the world. Haunter would do well as an only dog with an adopter committed to patient, positive socialization, or in a home with a laid-back, calm dog companion who can peacefully coexist and help him feel more secure. He will need a patient, understanding adopter—ideally someone experienced with shy or fearful dogs—who can help him learn that the world doesn’t have to be scary. This sweet boy has so much love to give and is looking for a soft place to land with someone who will give him the time, structure, and compassion he deserves. Haunter is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Pooh Bear is a Shih Tzu/Bichon Frise puppy. He is very playful and enjoys running and interacting with other dogs. He is so soft and sweet. He likes to chew, so plenty of good toys are important. He usually uses pee pads and is learning to go outside. He is not keen on walking on a leash, but is improving every day. He is an endless source of entertainment. He is a born interior decorator. He likes to move blankets, cotton bath mats, and he likes to flip the dog beds over. The other dogs are accommodating and will sleep on the upside down beds. He sometimes sleeps on his back and just looks up at you if he wakes up. He is adorable and charming. It would be impossible not to fall in love with him.

Story
Seven Seas a Shih Tzu puppy. He is pure joy in a tiny, fluffy package. He is the softest dog you will ever touch and his big, heart melting eyes will win you over in seconds. He incredibly playful and people oriented. Seven Seas loves being part of the action and brings nonstop fun wherever he goes. He is smart, curious, and confident enough to entertain himself, but always happiest when he is near his humans. His adorable curled over tail perfectly matches his bright, happy personality as he zooms around the house. Seven Seas plays beautifully with other dogs and fits right into a home environment with ease. Small in size but huge in heart, he is the kind of dog that makes every day lighter, happier, and full of smiles. Seven Seas sleeps with other pup in an x pen. He sometimes has tummy troubles, but sometimes gets it on the pad. He’s active, but can be a bit nervous in public settings. He is good with other dogs, sits well in a car. He is definitely food motivated -----

A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters:
Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means:

✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment.

✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing).

✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed.

The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like.

Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are.

Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type.

Story
Beacon is a six year old Shih Tzu. Beacon is a sweet boy. He is slowly learning to trust people and understand that he can relax and enjoy being a dog. He is not at all aggressive, just a little jumpy if you move too quickly around him. He will let you hold him and he has been so good and patient with meds and baths. He does not understand ‘outside’ or what dogs do outside but he is slowly working on that. He enjoys listening to white noise and nature sounds to help him relax and has even enjoyed watching some football on TV! Beacon would be a great companion for a calm household with lots of love to give. He currently sleeps on a blanket in a large bathroom. He sleeps through most nights with white noise playing. He also naps during the day. He is afraid of the the great outdoors, but is working on it. He’s really good about using potty pads inside and seems to like to wait to do it when you are there if possible. He is a bit nervous if you move too quickly around him but he is getting more comfortable by the day. He demonstrates no aggression at all. He hasn’t barked at cats or teenagers. He rides well in a car. Beacon is a cute, sweet little guy who is being so brave in this new chapter in his life. -----
