FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Butterfree! Butterfree is a 3-year-old, 15 LB Shih Tzu mix with the sweetest personality and the most adorable big brown eyes! She loves being with her people, soaking up all the love and attention she can get, and curling up in a cozy lap. She’s done well with other dogs and could happily have a canine companion in her forever home—or be perfectly content as the only dog in the home, as long as her adopters keep her well socialized. Butterfree is currently working on filling out a little, but she’s healthy, happy, and doing great! She’s treat motivated, easy to love, and a sweetheart for grooming. Butterfree will need a home committed to maintaining her coat with regular grooming so she can stay as cute and comfy as ever! If you’re looking for a loving little companion who’s equal parts cuddly and charming, Butterfree is your girl! Butterfree is UTD vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Haunter! Haunter is a 4-year-old, 15 LB Shih Tzu/Pekingese mix with the cutest little underbite and a soft, fluffy coat! He’ll need a home committed to keeping up with his grooming so he can look and feel his best. Haunter came to us from a tough past where he didn’t get much socialization, but he’s proving to be such a gentle, loving soul. He loves being close to his person, being held, and has done well with other dogs. He walks well on leash but is still gaining confidence with the world — loud noises and busy environments can be a little overwhelming for him right now. He’s looking for a patient, understanding adopter who can give him the time and support he needs to continue coming out of his shell. Haunter would do great as an only dog with continued socialization, or he’d love to have a calm, friendly dog companion to help show him the ropes as well. This sweet boy has so much love to give and will make a wonderful, loyal companion to a lucky adopter! Haunter is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
Meet Pretty Stranger! Pretty Stranger does have a tongue that is too large for her mouth as well as malformed teeth, which will be something an adoptive family will need to be prepared for in the future, as she will need annual exams to care for her dental health. As well, since her tongue is always out, she needs extra help with grooming, especially around her face to prevent skin irritations and infections, and frequent trips to the groomer for sani cuts. Pretty Stranger is a very active and playful girl who will need another dog in the home (her size and young enough to be play companion) to burn off her energy. Her adoptive home will need to have experience with breeds requiring grooming. Pretty Stranger is part of the "Palaye Royale" litter. Shes a playful puppy with tons of energysuper cute and fun, but also a lot of work! Her forever family should be committed to obedience, housetraining, and socialization to help her grow into a confident, well-behaved adult. Puppies personalities are shaped by their environment, training, and structure. Puppy daycare, socialization classes, or kindergarten are highly recommended for her development. Pretty Stranger will reward your efforts with lots of love, loyalty, and laughs. Shes is crate trained and still working on house training. She requires another dog in the home about her size and who is very tolerant of playful puppy energy. She has A LOT of energy. She would not be good with only a senior dog companion in the home as she can pester that dog to play. She needs a playful companion. Other dogs in the home must be up to date on vaccinations and annual examinations. Estimated DOB:03/15/2025 Estimated Adult Weight:1020 lbs Breed: Shih Tzu/Havanese Mix Adoption Donation:$700 Before adoption, puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped, flea-treated, and dewormed. They receive vaccination boosters in our care, but adopters will need to complete the remaining vaccine schedule. Your adoption donation covers vet care, transport, and general costs. All Motley Zoo dogs go home with a leash, Martingale collar, and a "Tour Gear Bag" full of goodies to start your journey together! Story
Pooh Bear is a Shih Tzu/Bichon Frise puppy. He is very playful and enjoys running and interacting with other dogs. He is so soft and sweet. He likes to chew, so plenty of good toys are important. He usually uses pee pads and is learning to go outside. He is not keen on walking on a leash, but is improving every day. He is an endless source of entertainment. He is a born interior decorator. He likes to move blankets, cotton bath mats, and he likes to flip the dog beds over. The other dogs are accommodating and will sleep on the upside down beds. He sometimes sleeps on his back and just looks up at you if he wakes up. He is adorable and charming. It would be impossible not to fall in love with him.

Story
Meet Brando — affectionate, playful, and full of heart. Brando is a loyal, loving companion who bonds deeply with his person and loves being part of the action—especially if that action involves snuggles on the couch, fetch in the backyard, or a good neighborhood walk. He’s especially fond of his foster’s grandson and loves spending time with him. When it’s time for bed, Brando happily runs to his crate and settles in for the night. Brando is doing well with house training, especially with regular potty breaks. He’ll even celebrate his progress with a case of the zoomies! He eats well, enjoys a mix of healthy snacks like apples and carrots, and appreciates a consistent routine. That said, Brando is still learning how to feel secure in the world. He struggles in overstimulating environments. Brando will thrive in a quiet, low-traffic home with adults or older, dog-savvy teens. He would love a steady routine, a calm environment, and a human he can dote on. Because he struggles with separation anxiety, he’s not suited for long hours alone or a highly social household—but for someone looking for a constant companion, Brando could be the perfect match. This sweet boy has so much love to give. He just needs someone who understands that some dogs take a little longer to feel safe—but once they do, they give you everything. ----- A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters: Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means: ✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment. ✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing). ✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed. The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like. Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are. Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.
