Story
Kimchi is a sweet and snuggly girl who’s happiest curled up in a cozy blanket or nestled beside you on the couch. She bonds quickly with her people and loves attention, food enrichment, and learning new tricks, especially when high-value treats are involved! Kimchi is a great listener and walks well on a leash, though she can be a bit nervous with people walking by or when there’s a lot of activity in the home. She gets stressed around other dogs and doesn’t do well with cats, so she’s looking for a calm, predictable home where she can be the only pet. While she’s not always in the mood to play, she enjoys chasing crows on her walks and is always up for a cuddle session. Kimchi is tidy, uses potty pads or goes outside, and takes her daily meds easily. She has a few ongoing medical needs, including allergy care, eye drops, and monthly injections, and she requires sedation for grooming but with the right care, she continues to thrive. Kimchi is a loving companion ready to bring warmth, snuggles, and a lot of heart to the right home. Kimchi is up to date on vaccines, microchipped and spayed.

Click the button to download the adoption application. The application is a form-fillable pdf. Fill out the form, save it to your hard drive, then email back to sian@gingerspetrescue.org Hi!! My name is Sophie and I’m a sweet 7-month-old female Shih Tzu from South Korea. I weigh about 14 lbs and was rescued from an illegal breeding facility where I was neglected and left to survive in heartbreaking conditions. Thanks to kind activists, I was saved and given a second chance—and now I’m looking for a forever home! I can’t wait to go on walks, take car rides, and become your best friend. I’ll thrive with a loving family who can give me the care and affection I’ve never had. A GPS tracker or Apple AirTag is required for all adopted dogs—you can bring your own or purchase one from us. We also recommend a session with our rescue dog trainer to help you and Sophie start strong together. My adoption fee is $1,795 and includes: Spay DA2PP, Rabies & Bordetella vaccines Deworming & Heartworm test Microchip Health certificate & boarding fees Airfare from Korea to Seattle The adoption fee helps save more dogs in need and supports medical care for those still waiting for homes. Ginger’s Pet Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and adoption fees are tax-deductible. Please email admin@gingerspetrescue.org for an adoption application. Let’s start our new journey together!July 11, 2025, 8:26 am

Story
Meet Laurent – an incredibly smart, sweet, and outgoing pup who’s ready to bring joy to his forever family! From the moment he arrived at his foster home, Laurent impressed everyone by learning to use the potty pad on his very first day. He’s a fast learner with a gentle, fun-loving personality. Laurent loves to play with other dogs and is often the one to initiate playtime with his foster brother, Watson. He rarely barks—only to announce when he’s pooping! He sleeps well through the night, usually near his crate, and has a calm, easygoing nature that makes him a joy to have around. Laurent is food motivated, good with children, travels well in the car, and is eager to please. He listens when told to settle or “go to crate,” and transitions quickly from excitement to calm. He’s the kind of dog that adapts easily and would thrive either with a canine sibling or as a solo pup soaking up all the love. This brilliant little boy is truly one-of-a-kind and will make a wonderful addition to any home! ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. They are all in need of adopters that have patience, an understanding of where these dogs have come from, and that there will be an adjustment time when they transition into their forever home. This can include learning basic commands, walking on leash and potty training. Some dogs will pick up on your routine and expectations faster than others. Potty accidents will happen. We find that positive reinforcement, consistency, and routine from the adopter achieves the best results. We are a small, all volunteers team and give 100% of our efforts towards doing right by these pups. We are often juggling many responsibilities at the same time and do our very best to process inquiries and applications in a timely manner. We do prioritize inquiries that have a submitted application on file through the Little Dog Rescue website. We do our best to accurately assign breed designations, however we are unable to guarantee 100% accuracy. Sometimes we only have the dogs appearance to go on. Our adoption fees are thoughtfully considered. The adoption fee is not a purchase price for the dog. It is a fee that is designed to support the overall work of our rescue. Highly desirable dogs and puppies are intentionally listed with a higher adoption fee. This is done to help offset the enormous medical expenses we incur when taking in older pups and special needs medical dogs whose adoption fees do not come close to covering their expenses. In addition, the vast majority of our dogs are brought in from out of state and incur transport fees along with their medical and acquisition costs. We ask that you take all of these things into consideration, and we look forward to finding a great match for your family.

Story
Meet Kahoku — sweet, snuggly, and full of playful puppy charm! Kahoku is an absolute delight. She’s got just the right mix of spunky play and calm cuddles — she’ll romp around with her toys and then snooze happily for hours. She’s already learning so much and continues to grow braver and more confident every day. She’s doing great with potty training, especially first thing in the morning and after meals, and she’s getting the hang of stairs and walking on a leash. She’s still working on going outside consistently throughout the day, but she’s making steady progress. Kahoku is not a fan of crates, but she’s been sleeping quietly through the night in bed with her foster — no accidents, no noise, just pure snuggly goodness. She can be timid with new experiences at first, but she’s incredibly brave and adapts quickly. She’s been great with other dogs and gentle children, and she’s easygoing in the car too. If you’re looking for a loving, clever little pup who’s eager to bond and ready to keep learning, Kahoku might be your perfect match! ----- A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters: Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained. Most come from tough or uncertain beginnings and may have never lived in a home or known basic routines. That means: ✧ They are not potty trained on arrival. Most dogs regress in potty training when moving to a new environment. ✧ They may lack basic manners (like leash walking or appropriate chewing). ✧ They’re learning, growing, and doing their best—but they will need patience, structure, and compassion to succeed. The majority of these pups have lived in the confinement of a cage or kennel run for most - if not all - of their lives. Because of this, we strongly discourage the use of crates for anything other than vehicle transport. They deserve the chance to decompress and learn what true freedom and comfort feel like. Our amazing foster homes work hard to start these dogs on the right path, but they are rescues, not finished products. These dogs need time, consistency, and a loving home willing to meet them where they are. Also, breed designations are our best guesses based on appearance and behavior. We can't guarantee breed, size, adult weight, or coat type. ----- Thank you for your interest in adopting a dog from Little Dog Rescue. Our dogs come from a variety of sources and backgrounds. Story
Meet Pua — tiny, soulful, and secretly the queen of the room. Don’t be fooled by her big, sorrowful eyes — Pua is no shrinking violet. This little peanut wants to be part of everything. Whether it’s meal time, walk time, or nap time, she’s ready to participate… even if she nods off mid-activity. She’s been known to fall asleep sitting up, and walks often turn into carries — but honestly, you won’t want to put her down anyway. Pua has a gentle, watchful spirit and is starting to open up to new people. She’s still working on her potty training, but she's making progress. Let her out in the yard and she’ll find the sunniest spot to nap in no time. She shares a crate in the living room with another foster dog and gets along well with other calm pups. She’s a bit nervous around kids, so a quieter home would suit her best. If you’re looking for a soft, sweet companion with a curious spark and cuddly charm, Pua might be your perfect match. ----- A Quick but Important Note to All Adopters: Please remember that none of our dogs arrive fully trained.
