Story
Introducing James! His owner was unable to care for him anymore and he arrived to the shelter on 2/21. James is almost 2 years old and weighs in at 46 pounds. He is adorable and super sweet. He knows to sit and shake when asked. He gets excited to be on a leash and will pull a bit. He has lots of energy and lots of love for a new family. It is reported that he is house trained, good with dogs and children. Are you already in love with James? Ask for ID# 17108 Run 80. He will be neutered soon and micro-chipped upon adoption. He has tested negative for heart worm. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. If this cat or dog came in as a lost animal, we do not know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When inquiring about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER. This pet is available for adoption from Cobb County Animal Services, 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, (770) 499-4136. Shelter hours: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Mondays & Holidays. The adoption includes shots, altering, a heartworm or combo test and a microchip.

Story
Meet Marley! 1 owner since 10wks, healthy happy purebred poodle with stunning white fur, silver patches. Hypoallergenic for allergy sufferers, she is an excited but gentle companion. She enjoys playing yet she's calm, quiet, alert, protective at home. Marley thrives on hugs, kisses, and massages! She's communicative when she needs to go potty. Smart and athletic, Marley enjoys solving puzzles and gets along well with everyone. Plus, she's already spayed! Marley has separation anxiety and dislikes being alone. She needs another dog, sitter, daycare, or sleep medication when left by herself. An ideal home would have a 6ft wood-fenced yard and someone who is with her; perfect for emotional support dog, retirees, or work from home. With training, she can overcome her fear. We're only rehoming Marley due to work and we don't have outdoor space but if you're looking for a good dog who will be your best bud, Marley may be the one for you! We provide toys, food, supplies, vet records.

Story
COMEBACK KID WITH A BRIGHT FUTURE:  Approx. 5 years old / Approx. weight 57 lbs. Hi, I’m Hayes! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control along with another dog who has already been adopted. I’m in a wonderful foster home while I wait for my new family to adopt me. I’m a sweet boy with a medical condition called Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia, which means my immune system can mistakenly attack my platelets. Because of this, I’m on daily immunosuppressant medication and will need regular veterinary visits and periodic bloodwork to keep my platelets in range. While I’m on the immunosuppressant I shouldn’t go out in crowded public places or be around pets who aren’t fully vaccinated yet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I liked the dog I came in with and followed his lead; I also met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and in my temp. foster home and liked them.  My foster reports that I’m polite, calm and observant in a pack and thinks I would thrive with a calm, confident canine companion who likes to play a bit, so if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met a nice 10-year-old who visited my foster family, and I was calm and gentle with them, so if you have respectful kids around this age, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may accidentally bump over.     • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a calm, thoughtful, and wonderfully curious dog who likes to study the world around me - whether you’re cooking, cleaning, or even putting a bandage on a little boo-boo, I’m there quietly watching, trying to understand it all. In my foster home I choose ‘my person’ and love staying close and keeping them company.  This doesn’t mean I don’t love others, I’m simply the most loyal to my special person. I’m very tuned in to my people’s routines, and I enjoy it when you talk to me and will listen as long as you keep talking. My foster works from home, so I’m the perfect office companion – never disruptive, just peacefully nearby or napping.  I rarely bark, only occasionally when happy or excited.  I’m sweet, gentle, quiet, affectionate, emotionally intelligent and a soft-hearted gentleman that is easy to have around - truly a JACKPOT to my adoptive family. I would be happiest with a stay or work from home family member as I wouldn’t like spending a full workday alone. / Energy level: 4-6 as I am active but not hyper and will join in play when invited and can play for quite a while. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I know the ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ commands and even offer a ‘paw’. I also ‘come’ when called inside and am very responsive to your voice and tone. I understand routines easily and learn new things with gentle repetition. Like most Poodles, I have the intelligence and focus to pick up training commands quickly, and I’m an excellent listener. / I don’t enjoy being crated, so when I’m left alone for short periods (typically 2-4 hours), I relax on the cozy bench in my foster’s mudroom or on my favorite sofa spot and wait quietly for my people to come back. I haven’t chewed or gotten into anything. At nighttime, I like to sleep in my dog bed in a quiet corner of my fosters’ room. / My potty manners have been excellent in my foster home. They take me out on a good schedule, and also I’ll sit by the door if I need to go.   • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I enjoy taking long peaceful walks on my foster family’s property, exploring the creek and stepping into the water.  I can go on hikes now but still should not walk in crowded public areas yet due to the medication I’m on.  I also like treats, visitors to my foster home, soft stuffed and squeaky toys and I’m always up for some gentle play or a little running around with my people. I like staying close to my people watching everything that goes on in the house like a little detective. More than anything, I love being included and feeling like part of whatever you’re doing. / I’m not a fan of being crated, staying outside in bad weather longer than needed, or feeling unsure of things as I am sensitive and thrive with gentle guidance. I also don’t like being hot, so no blankets are needed. I’m also a little picky with my food, and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I take an immunosuppressant medication called Mycophenolate and I’ll need my family to have bloodwork completed in May 2026 to see if I still need to stay on it.  If you are considering adding me to your family, Mostly Mutts recommends you talk with your vet.  I’m a deeply loyal dog looking for a wonderful family that will treasure me and keep up with my medical needs.  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  March 3, 2026, 6:57 am

Story
Bijou is a sweet little Poodle mix. He is about 2-3 years old and weighs 10 pounds. He was found dumped on the side of the road in a crate with another dog who has since been adopted. Bijou was matted and terrified when he arrived at Tiny Paws. It’s been a long road but he has made excellent progress and come such a long way in his foster home, but is still quite shy when meeting new people. Bijou is sweet and affectionate to his foster mom. He is so excited to see her that he gets the “tippy tappies” and that has become his nickname. He loves his foster siblings and we are requiring another confident dog in the home that can help show him the ropes! At this time, we are also requiring a home with a fenced yard for him. ******************** Preference is given to applicants located within the metro Atlanta area. Applications from outside this area may be considered under certain circumstances. Story
Gale is a 2-year-old, 4-pound Toy Poodle who embodies the phrase “small but mighty charming.” With his refined manners, soulful eyes, and quiet sweetness, Gale is the kind of dog who doesn’t demand attention: he simply steals your heart before you realize it’s gone. Like many thoughtful gentlemen, Gale is a bit shy when first introduced, especially in new situations. Once he knows he’s safe and loved, his true personality shines: affectionate, gentle, and deeply devoted. His favorite place in the world is on your lap, soaking up cuddles, though he is never pushy and remains polite even when other dogs are around. Gale does best in a calm, peaceful home and prefers the quiet life. Loud noises can be unsettling for him, so he is looking for an adopter who appreciates a slower pace filled with good food, cozy naps, and quality time together. He is not a frequent barker, but if other dogs start barking, he may choose to join in. He gets along well with other small dogs and has done well with cats. Larger dogs, particularly those over about 15 pounds, can be intimidating for him, so he would be happiest in a home with similarly sized companions or as the only dog. Gale is also comfortable with older, calm children who understand how to be gentle with such a tiny dog. No small children, please. Gale is still working on house training and leash skills and will need a patient, kind adopter who understands that confidence and learning take time and consistency. A secure, fenced yard is required to help him feel safe as he continues to build confidence. He is not crated in his foster home, is not destructive, and sleeps contentedly in his own bed in his foster parent’s bedroom at night. His favorite things include food, kind people, and long naps, and he thrives on gentle affection and feeling secure. If you are looking for a sweet, sensitive little soul with impeccable manners and a heart that will quietly but completely become yours, Gale may be your perfect match. This distinguished gentleman is ready to find a forever home where he can finally feel safe, cherished, and deeply loved. To adopt him, please apply on www.orphanannierescue.org His adoption fee is $450, which includes his shots up-to-date, microchipping, neuter, heartworm testing, and dental cleaning.
