Meet Teagan! Earlier in the year we rescued Tate and Truman, 2 standard poodles, along with a poodle mix puppy from Upson County after they had been surrendered to animal control. A couple of weeks ago, we found out the same family had just surrendered 3 more standard poodles. We really take the “You don’t leave family behind” philosophy seriously, so even though it had been months since we saved the first group and we REALLY don’t have room for more dogs - we knew we had to save these guys! Teller was in the worst shape. He was completely matted and caked in mud. And his poor eyes so infected. It took hours to get him cleaned up. If you’ve ever had to shave down a severely matted dog, you’ll know it’s very similar to sheering a sheep - the hair just comes off in one huge piece. Thankfully, the girls Tiggy and Teagan, had been groomed before at some point and were in much better shape. Our unconfirmed theory is that Teagan (grey) is mom to Teller (black) and Tiggy (blonde). Teller and Tiggy both appear to be about a year old so we think they are probably littermates. Teagan is about 2-3 years old - still young herself. All three of these amazing poodles are super super sweet; great with dogs of all sizes; and cats!! Sweet Teagan was even trying to play with our special little NeuroSpicy girl Sofia on her first night! These guys are all looking for tried and true Standard Poodle homes. To know poodles is to love them, but these 3 have all been failed by humans once and we won’t let that happen again - so we really do want homes that know all the good, bad, and ugly that comes with having Standard Poodles as family members. Meet Ollie — a 42-lb black and white parti poodle with a gentle soul and a heart full of hope. Born 2/28/25, he arrived at Orphan Annie Rescue uncertain and timid, having known very little human contact. Slowly, lovingly, he is emerging from his shell, revealing the playful, curious puppy hiding beneath the fear. Ollie’s personality is tender and sweet. He has no aggression in him, only caution. He is still shy around people but now allows a few trusted humans to pet him. His true confidence comes from being around other dogs - they are his role models, his comfort, and his teachers. The right home for Ollie will include at least one confident, larger dog (preferably more). His family will need patience, gentleness, and an understanding of timid dogs. He will also require a fenced-in yard where he can play and explore safely. Daily life with Ollie includes joyful play with other dogs, running, chasing balls, and occasional roughhousing. He’s leash trained, rides calmly in the car, is crate trained (but happiest snuggled in bed with his foster dad), and is motivated by food — which helps his training journey. Grooming will be part of his routine as a standard poodle. He’s still learning to tolerate baths and grooming tools, but brushing is going great, and he's making steady progress. As he grows, Ollie will likely become a larger standard poodle given his current size. Ollie is a special boy. Not ready to add a 2-legged creature to your home but also think four legs may be too many? Meet Faith, our majestic 3-legged poodle! At 2 years old and around 50lbs, Faith is ready to hop into your life! When Faith came into our care, we immediately noticed that she walked unusually on her back leg. After some x-rays and speaking to multiple vets and specialists, it was determined that amputation would give her the best quality of life for an old break that hadn't been addressed and therefore didn't heal properly. Don't worry, Faith hasn't even noticed that she's missing a leg yet. She hardly used it when she had it anyway. She's still ready to go on walks, run around the yard, explore, and go on car rides. Faith loves to play with other dogs of all sizes but would also be perfectly happy just playing with her humans. She's great at self entertaining with toys and will even throw them for herself. She's not exactly the right match for cats unless your cats just love to play with dogs, as she sees everyone as a friend to play with. Panda is a great dog. Adaptable and easy. Very spunky and playful. Loves to play so children or other dogs are great. He is a big dog so he’s better with other larger dogs. Panda is very cuddly and sweet. Needs exercise daily and lots of mind stimulation. Panda does have an autoimmune called Pemphigus foliaceus. It causes some hair loss and changes his hair texture than most poodles but it’s easily managed with occasional dose of steroid and auto suppressant.

A SWEET & HANDSOME FELLOW: Approx. 5 years old / Approx. 54 lbs. Hi, my name is Luka! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control with a very overgrown coat. It was tightly tangled and caused a good bit of pain as a result, so I had to be completely shaved down and now it’s growing back in fluffy and beautiful. I also developed happy tail, so my tail has been docked and I’m no longer in pain from that. Thanks to lots of good veterinary and volunteer care and kindness, I’m feeling great now! I’ll need regular grooming to keep my coat in good shape and that is a bit costly for a dog my size, so make sure you’re prepared to have me regularly groomed. I got to spend a few days in a temporary foster home during the cold weather and had a good time! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I love playing with them! My trainer thinks I’d love living with another dog and that I would benefit from it, too, so if you have a nice dog at home who loves playing with other dogs, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no very young kids that I may bump over as I’m a bit jumpy right now. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: I’m a sweet, wonderful, and very nice boy who might be a little shy when it comes to photos, but my true personality shines once I feel comfortable. I did great at the vet after being shaved - they even sent a video of me soaking up all the rubs and loving every minute of it. Right now, I’m on a couple of anxiety medications due to the stress of the shelter and the pain I was in, but with a nice loving home, I believe I’ll be able to wean off them once I’m settled in. / Energy level: 5-7 at the shelter, and a little higher in my temp. foster home at 6-8. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I'm a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘down, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands so far and I look forward to learning even more. I’m working on my leash manners as I do pull a lot currently. I also seem to have a learned behavior of turning around and jumping on people as well as jumping and hugging them, so my trainer is working with me to help me un-learn these. Check back soon to see how it’s going. / The crate isn’t my favorite place, and at times I can be reluctant to go back inside it unless the door is already open when I return from my shelter walks. I’m hoping my new home won’t require me to spend much time crated. I’m working with a trainer who is helping me with this, and they’ll be happy to offer guidance for my future family as I did nip a volunteer during a crating moment. / I have had good potty manners on the shelter schedule, and in my temp. foster home, so yay me! • LIKES/DISLIKES: I love soaking up pets, working with my trainer and spending time with the nice volunteers as well as other playful dogs. I also enjoyed bones and antlers when I was in my temp. foster. I’m sure we’ll discover plenty of other things to enjoy together, too. / I haven’t shown any dislikes since being properly groomed, but like all dogs, I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m on 2 medications for shelter stress that I think I’ll be able to wean off of once I’m settled in my new home. I get a soothing oatmeal bath weekly, and this can be done in my new home. I’m also on a medication for my skin/itching since my fur was so tight and I think I’ll be able to come off of that as well given a little time. I’m a great dog looking for a great home and family to love that will take great care of me! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga. February 4, 2026, 6:20 am
