Story
Rusty. (Bobtail)'s Story ?? Rusty the Bobtail Elf-in-Training ?? Introducing Rusty, a nine-week-old orange tabby bobtail kitten who looks like he came straight off Santa’s “experimental elf prototypes” assembly line. With a tiny nub of a tail that wiggles like a festive cinnamon roll, Rusty zooms through the house like he’s late for toy-making duty at the North Pole. He’s convinced he is an elf, actually—just… fun-sized. Here’s what this holiday hooligan brings to the table: ? Santa-level energy (he’s already run three imaginary workshops today) ? Gift unwrapping skills that are both impressive and mildly concerning ? Tree climbing expertise—he says he’s just “checking for squirrels” ? Stocking inspector—he checks every sock. Every. Single. One. ? Believes Christmas dinner is “community property” Rusty may be tiny, but his personality is bigger than Santa’s cookie stash. He is charming, hilarious, wiggly, snuggly, and 100% certain he can pull Santa’s sleigh by himself if the reindeer ever call in sick. If you want a Christmas companion who brings the chaos and the cuddles, look no further—Rusty is ready to jingle all the way home with you. ??? This pet is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, has received parasite prevention, and will be neutered before adoption. All of this is included in the adoption fee. Fridgy is an excellent 2 year old cat that we sadly have to rehome due to our baby, who is allergic. He is great with dogs, cats, adults and children. He’s litter boxed trained, can sit on command like a dog, comes when called and will greet you at the door when you get home. He loves to play and snuggle. He is very social and would make a great addition to any household!

Story
I have an elderly friend who is in the hospital and no longer able to care for his 7-year-old cat. Unfortunately, I have a rescued kitty myself who will not tolerate another cat. Is there any room to bring Lily in for adoption? She comes with a supply of food and litter. She has been alone for some time and is now timid when I or friends stop by to feed her. She needs someone who is patient, and I'm sure she will come out of her shell.

Story
Our barn cat program is for our cats that take part in the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program but can't be returned to their communities because of danger or lack of care. These are our less social cats that don't crave the company of people, at least at this point in their lives. These cats are peaceful, easy to care for, and make friends easily with other farm animals. Pictured is our lovely Chula who was adopted as a mouser for the family chicken coop. The family followed the relocation instructions and Chula became queen of the land! Like Chula, many families that have adopted a barn cat report that the cats have become friendly over time and bonded with the other animals as well has the people. Most often, the cats are delivered in pairs by our volunteer that settle the cats in and provide instructions for you to follow. All agree that it is very rewarding to give a home and freedom to a less fortunate cat who just by chance was born without a human hand. Please fill out our application from our website and call 860-479-5173. Thank you!

Story
Meet Munchkin, my adorable short hair. He needs a temp home where he can be loved and cared for until I am able to get my own apartment. My mom is moving out and can't take him with her. I can't have him where I live since my sister already has two cats. As of right now he will most likely need to be re-trained in his own box. My sister moved back in with mom and brought 5 cats in an emergency move home. He was only ever accustomed to 1 other cat. Since then he was bullied out of the box and is not comfortable using one unless he is the only cat. I was not able to stay or take him along with me when this occurred so I am need of help with my precious Munchkin. The cat that was gifted to me as a kitten in one of my lowest points and was always wanting to be in my arms or near me. To the person who is willing to take him in and help him I would be so grateful, I will not ask for anything in return, just that I can see him a few times a week and take him back when I have accommodation.

Story
Calvin and Hobbs are Olives sweet little boys. They are energetic and fun loving. Hobbs has some scarring in his eye from the common virus that most cats get. Some cats react to it more than others, thus the case with Hobbs. The ophthalmologist feels that the eye will heal but leave a little scarring. If he should need surgery when he is older, we would set that up through our vet for you. Right now, he is having a blast. The boys do not have to go together because they are so much alike. Please fill out an application on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you!
