Story
Maui is a young adult domestic shorthair silver/black classic tabby in Waterbury, CT, needing an urgent rescue or medical foster. He has beautiful swirls on his sides, black under-feet, and an "M" on his forehead. I took over his care after his owners became homeless. Maui is unneutered and slips outside daily. He exhibits intense spinal rippling and frantic tail-biting, indicating Feline Hyperesthesia Syndrome or a severe flea allergy. Due to pain and hormones, he shows fear-aggression to strangers. He fears men and, while he trusts my child, he will randomly lash out, making a home without kids best. He completely trusts my husband and me, loving head scratches. He grooms himself, but still has a strong intact male odor. Crucially, he enters a carrier willingly—no trapping needed. He needs a no-kill rescue to provide sedated medical care (treat parasites, neuter, and nail trim). This will stop his urge to escape, resolve his defensiveness, and let him safely blossom.

Please stop by for a visit! If you would like an application or have any questions, please send an email: info@ht-ac.org Please include your phone number so we can contact you if our email ends up in your spam folder, which happens sometimes. Xiomara (brown tabby) and Cintra (grey tabby) were rescued as strays, and are in a foster home in Waterbury with other cats. Xiomara LOVES to play, and gets along very well with other cats. She will walk up to any cat, chirp, and give them a head bump to see if they wanna be friends. She is shy initially, and will require patience. Cintra is affectionate and friendly, and likes to cuddle up next to her favorite people in bed or on the couch. She is not fond of being picked up. She gets along with other cats, as long as they are friendly towards her. They are chill kitties, and may be fine with cat-savvy kids aged seven and up. They are bonded and should be adopted as a pair. They are one year old, and have been spayed, vaccinated for rabies/distemper, microchipped, and tested negative for FIV/FeLV. The adoption fee is $250 for each cat, and $500 for both cats as a pair.

PLEASE HELP TINKERBELL FIND THE PURRFECT HOME! If you would like an application or have any questions, please send an email: info@ht-ac.org Please include your phone number so we can contact you if our email ends up in your spam folder, which happens sometimes. Tinkerbell was surrendered by her elderly owner when she moved into a complex that does not accept pets. She is a very sweet, affectionate kitty who loves to sit in any available lap for attention, and purrs loudly! She is chatty, and will follow her favorite people around to talk and get attention. Tinkerbell is 18 years old, and has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated for rabies/FVRCP, tested negative for FIV/FeLV, and has had a senior blood panel and dental cleaning. The blood panel indicated that she is in the early stages of renal failure, so she eats canned food only. Her adoption fee is $150.

Story
Our barn cat program is for our cats that take part in the TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program but can't be returned to their communities because of danger or lack of care. These are our less social cats that don't crave the company of people, at least at this point in their lives. These cats are peaceful, easy to care for, and make friends easily with other farm animals. Pictured is our lovely Chula who was adopted as a mouser for the family chicken coop. The family followed the relocation instructions and Chula became queen of the land! Like Chula, many families that have adopted a barn cat report that the cats have become friendly over time and bonded with the other animals as well has the people. Most often, the cats are delivered in pairs by our volunteer that settle the cats in and provide instructions for you to follow. All agree that it is very rewarding to give a home and freedom to a less fortunate cat who just by chance was born without a human hand. Please fill out our application from our website and call 860-479-5173. Thank you!

He will easily adjust to any home. Justice is fully vetted. He's had his distemper plus two boosters, rabies shot and neutered. All at the low price of $250. Story
Oscar is a sweet young boy that was neglected and left to wonder as so many young males do if they are not neutered. Luckily for him that he is so friendly and found help right away by crying at a nice person's home. He is adorable; social, vocal, easygoing, fine with other cats. A wonderful boy. Oscar does test positive for FIV antibodies. Only 3% of cats actually develop active FIV. More cats pass away of cancers and there is no test for those so we hope his positive result will not detour you from offering this sweet boy a home. He can live with non positive cats because Oscar does not fight. Please fill out an application for Oscar on our website at www.hucatrescue.org. Thank you! YOU ARE INVITED TO OUR MEET & GREET ADOPTION EVENT THIS SUNDAY, SEPT. 20TH AT PETCO, 188 KITTS LANE IN NEWINGTON. WE WILL BE ON THE NORTH SHORE ANIMAL LEAGUE VAN. THE HOURS ARE 1:00 TO 3:00 P.M. PLEASE FILL OUT AN APPLICATION IN PREPARATION FOR THE EVENT. THANK YOU!
