Meet Gleyber, an almost 7-year-old handsome tabby with a heart full of love and a gentle, social personality. After spending his entire life with one family, he is now looking for a new place to call home through no fault of his own. Sadly, his family's young son has developed allergies to cats, and with the added stress of two young children in the home, they feel Gleyber would be happier in a calmer environment where he can truly thrive. Gleyber is an affectionate, friendly boy who loves being around his people. He enjoys attention, is very social, and has so much love to give. He has lived with children and does especially well with older kids who can respect his space and enjoy his sweet personality. He also gets along well with dogs and has happily shared his home with a small canine companion. While he hasn't lived with large dogs, his easygoing nature suggests he could do well with a respectful introduction. Gleyber would also be fine in a home with another cat, though he may need a little time to adjust as he settles into his new surroundings. Meet Gemma, a one-year-old tabby with the most gorgeous markings and absolutely stunning golden eyes. She came to us with her five babies — Pebbles, Opal, Flint, Mica, and Slate — after their little family was found living in a quarry in Waterbury. Now that her babies are adopted, it’s time for this beautiful mama to have her chance, too. While Gemma is understandably very shy and cautious around people, she isn’t completely feral. Because of this, we believe there’s a good chance she once belonged to someone and may have been dumped at the quarry, left to fend for herself and eventually raise her babies there. Despite everything she’s been through, we see so much potential in this beautiful girl. Gemma may not be the kitty who immediately runs up asking for pets or curls into your lap on day one — but that doesn’t mean she won’t get there. She simply needs someone willing to give her what she hasn’t had enough of: patience, time, consistency, and love. With the right family who will allow her to adjust at her own pace and celebrate the little victories along the way, we truly believe Gemma can continue learning to trust and blossom into the loving house cat she deserves to be. Meet Clementine, affectionately known as Clem, a one-year-old orange tabby! Clem was initially trapped in Stratford as part of a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program. After his neuter surgery, it became clear that indoor life might just be for him, so he was placed in a foster home where he could decompress, socialize, and discover what it means to be a house cat. Clem has been settling in at his own pace and is making progress every day. He’s curious about his foster siblings and seems interested in getting to know them, although they haven’t had the opportunity to meet just yet. When Clem feels safe and comfortable in his foster room, his playful personality comes out — he enjoys batting around his toys and having fun. He also appreciates visits from his foster mom, though he isn’t quite ready for pets yet. That’s okay! We believe that with patience, consistency, and time, Clem will continue to gain confidence and show us more of his sweet personality. Meet Chacana! Chacana is a 7.5-year-old tuxedo beauty with a sweet pink nose and wonderfully wide, quirky feet that make her extra unique (not polydactyl—just delightfully unusual!). She previously lived as an indoor/outdoor cat, spending her days splitting time between her home and visiting a nearby colony. When her family moved away, they sadly abandoned her, leaving her confused and heartbroken. Despite all she’s been through, Chacana remains incredibly gentle, loving, and hopeful. She is FIV+, but with proper care, FIV+ cats can live long, healthy, love-filled lives. What she wants now is a quiet, calm home where she can be cherished like the queen she truly is. Chacana is a gentle, sweet girl who loves the simple things in life. Her favorite toys are anything stuffed with catnip, and she absolutely melts for head and chin scratches. If you stop too soon, she’ll reach out with her paw to give you a soft, gentle tap—her adorable way of asking for more love. One of her favorite pastimes is climbing to the top of her tall cat tree so she can look out the front window and watch the world go by.
