Story
Peppa and her brother, Petey, were being taken care of by a Good Samaritan while their mom went through a bitter divorce. After a year, the lady decided she was not going to be able to take the cats back and asked us to help rehome them. Petey is super sweet and gets along with everyone. Peppa is a bit more shy than her brother but is still super sweet. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body and tends to get picked on by other cats. Peppa and Petey would do well in a household by themselves, or with other friendly cats and/or dogs.

Story
We often wonder what the back story is to the cats that end up in our program, especially when they are extremely sweet and friendly. Were they dumped? Did they get lost? Did they belong to someone who passed away? These thoughts ran through our mind when we met Reecie today. She is emaciated and we could feel every bone in her tiny body but she is a sweetheart who is comfortable around people and does well with other cats. We’re not sure if the name, Reecie, matches her gentle personality. This was the name her foster gave her as her fur is the color of Reese’s Peanut Butter cups. Considering her sweetness and the kindness of her rescuer, we feel the name ‘Hope’ suits her better. We truly hope she finds the loving home she deserves. Story
Meet Pickles. Pickles is a young tabby who is now around 7 months old. She is extremely sweet and has been raised in a loving home since she was just a few days old. When you look at Pickles, she looks like any other tabby- playful, healthy and always ready for her next adventure. Pickles, however, has tested positive for the feline leukemia virus, which affects between 2-3% of all cats in the country. There is a lot of information online about FeLV and it can be overwhelming trying to understand the implications for affected cats. There are basically no hard rules as it affects all cats differently. Some are severely immuno-compromised and live short lives while others can survive for many years, without any harmful symptoms. As it is contagious to other cats, it is recommended that FeLV cats be the only cat in the home or that they be housed with other FeLV positive cats. We know that the right family is out there for Pickles. We just need to find them. For more info, please contact us at animaladvocatesofnorthtexas@ymail.com.
