Story
Meet Ginger – Our Laid-Back Senior Cat Looking for a Peaceful Home 🐾 We’re heartbroken to share that we’re looking for a new home for our beloved cat, Ginger. He’s 11 years old and has been a cherished part of our family. Ginger is the definition of chill—he’s incredibly laid back, gentle, and loves nothing more than lounging in a sunny spot and enjoying a good meal. We recently welcomed a newborn, and it’s been hard to give Ginger the attention and calm space he needs. He truly thrives in a low-stress, peaceful home—and most importantly, he wants to be the only pet. Ginger doesn’t do well sharing space with other animals and prefers to have his humans all to himself. What Ginger is looking for: A quiet, pet-free home Someone who appreciates a mellow, food-loving cat A warm spot to nap and a calm presence to keep him company Words that describe Ginger: 🌞 Relaxed 🍽 Food-loving 🛋 Independent 😴 Chill 🐾 Affectionate (in a low-key way)

Story
I found this kitty stray in the neighborhood and need help rehoming her! She’s a sweet girl but she does seem sick or injured. She’s eating and drinking fine and probably just needs extra love and care. I can’t keep her for very long, but I want to make sure she goes to a loving home.

Story
If you are looking for a beautiful brown tabby that likes to give you kisses, look no further than Samosa! Samosa is affectionate, playful, and friendly. He loves figuring out puzzle toys, chasing feather wands, and getting a nice back scratch. He is great with other cats and would do best in a home with another young cat to play with, or adopted with his brother Empanada. Samosa is up to date on vaccinations, neutered, FeLV/FIV tested, fecal tested, and current on flea prevention. Contact emily@coppellhumanesociety.org if you are interested in adopting Samosa. Adoption fee is reduced when adopting more than one cat.

Story
I brought her and her brother here from California four years ago, but we were here for six months and her and her brother stopped getting along and she ran away. She was missing for three years and my neighbor saw a post that I posted for her and said, I think I have been feeding your cat the last three years so eight months ago I went over to their house and it was her. I brought her back home but her and her brother fight so badly. We have to keep them separated and it’s just not possible to keep her separated anymore from him. It’s too hard. She’s very sweet loving and loves just being with family and close to people, she’ll follow you around everywhere. She loves to cuddle. She’s very sweet. She doesn’t really like to mess with dogs, but she does tolerate them as long as they don’t bother her, I think that she was abused for the three years that she was missing by other cats so she does not like to be around other cats.

These cats are in The Colony, Texas too!

CLEVER, SHY, AND LOVES TO PLAY. GREAT WITH OTHER CATS, GOOD WITH GENTLE KIDS (OLDER KIDS PREFERRED), AND COULD BE OK WITH A CALM DOG. I am a shy girl, but I love to play! A great way to help me come out of my shell is to use string toys to play with me – I love those! I also really like running around in cat tunnels and climbing cat trees as well. I’m super quick and clever when avoiding being held, but if you can get me in a cradle hold with my tail tucked up to my tummy, I’ll often let you hold me for a few minutes that way. Eventually, I’ll become more comfortable with being pet, but right now I prefer being pet on my back first before letting you pet my face. When I’m taking a rest from playing, I like to snuggle up with another kitten, so having a buddy in my new home would be really comforting for me. Another thing that helps me settle in and become more comfortable in my surroundings is watching or listening to “cat tv” on YouTube – the chirping birds often help me relax more. I also really like having a soft/fluffy cat bed to sleep (and sometimes nurse) on while I get used to my new home.

Story
SHY GUY HAS A WONDERFULLY SWEET PERSONALITY, BUT INSECURE. CLINGS TO HIS SIBLINGS FOR SUPPORT. NEEDS TO HAVE A VERY FRIENDLY CAT BUDDY AS HE LEARNS HE CAN BE BRAVE. NEEDS A VERY CALM ENVIRONMENT WITH PATIENT PEOPLE TO HELP HIM FEEL LOVED. SWEET KIDS OVER 8 YRS OKAY.I can`t say why I`m so much shyer than my siblings, but they get me, love me and help me along. I see them be brave and do things, then I will do it too. If you want to pet me, I will likely run to them. You can pet them and then you can pet me too. I see them playing with toys, so I`ll play with toys. That`s the kind of help I`ll need in my new home too. I`ll learn little by little that I can really do things! I`m nervous to be approached and often as not, uneasy being held. We can keep practicing those things and make it better! When there`s a tunnel, and the toys are out and on, I can really start having a good time with them! Leave some little toys out all the time for me to practice with. Wand toys, lasers, and motion activated toys moving under a sheet with a butterfly flying on top, from Amazon, all make me very happy, I almost forget that I`m shy! I play a lot in my tunnel! I can retreat there when I get nervous too. I`ll need a covered box type bed, a cat tree with a box in the middle of it and comfy blankets on the furniture for when we practice snuggling. Add all the love you have to give, I will give you mine, and we will become inseparable and invincible!

CURIOUS, CLEVER, AND READY FOR PLAYTIME! GREAT WITH OTHER CATS, GOOD WITH KIDS, AND MAY BE OK WITH A CALM DOG. I may be a bit shy at first, but get out an electric butterfly toy or give me a string toy to chase around, and I’ll open up quickly! I love to pounce and play with other kittens, so having a buddy in my new home would be really good for me. I also enjoy climbing and hiding, so a cat tree or a tunnel would be very much appreciated. I love being pet along my back and I’m slowly getting used to being held, but that still makes me nervous, so I may try to avoid it at first while I learn that I’m safe with you. For now, I prefer the toddler hold, and I’m willing to try it out for a minute or two before I will happily return to playtime – I can’t resist those string toys, but I also like to investigate new toys, such as catnip toys or a puffball, when they’re lightly tossed around for me.
