Birdie is most likely a combination of Yorkshire Terrier and Chinese Crested with maybe a little Papillion thrown in. She is ten pounds. She was rescued from an unsafe situation and has bonded with another senior rescue girl pup at our place. The other much older senior would not do well without Birdie and they keep each other happy, while receiving the specialized care they need. Birdie has been spayed, is current on everything, receiving every kind of veterinary care she needs. She’s VERY vocal when she plays and sounds like a grizzly bear, hence her name. It’s very funny. She is smart, sassy and full of constant energy so she definitely needs an active family. She has a foster sister named Figgy who she’s been with for 9 mos now and are so bonded we are adopting them out together. Teddy is 11 years old and potty trained to perfection. He has not had an accident in the house in over a decade! He is relatively lower maintenance as he only likes short walks, not long walks. He gets along with children. He has mellowed out as he is getting older so he spends a lot of time sleeping and lounging. He still barks as Yorkies are prone to do, but it’s reasonable. Overall, he’s well trained and well adjusted. He has been loved but we have a toddler and another baby on the way. Our new house isn’t as dog friendly either. Unfortunately with our growing family we can’t provide him the attention we used to be able to. We would love to find him a home with a loving person or family who will be able to give him the attention he deserves. He’s really the best dog, and we will miss him dearly, but we know his companionship will also make someone so happy.

Olive is a precious 8-year-old Yorkie/Schnauzer mix. She was rescued 6 years ago and they told us she was 2. Prior to that, she had been in a hoarding/backyard breeding situation that left her with some trauma and health issues. The health issues have all resolved over time, thankfully, although she is missing quite a few teeth. Olive can be slow to warm up to someone new, but once she gets comfortable with you she's full of love. She wants to be by your side at all times, and loves giving nose kisses and curling up in your lap. She can be playful, and is so excited to greet you when you come home, even if you've been gone for only a minute. Olive protects those she loves by barking. She can react negatively to being surprised and nip at you. This wasn't a problem for us until we had kids. The chaos of a toddler does not mix well with a dog who reacts badly to surprises. We're looking for an owner who can offer her the lifestyle she deserves, not one separated by a baby gate.

Jef was dumped at South Los Angeles Animal Shelter. He couldn’t walk, his nails were overgrown, his ears were infected and sealed shut from dirt and wax, his eyes were also infected with ocular discharge, he had missing and infected teeth, foxtails in his feet, he was covered with his own urine and feces, he was malnourished, shaking, and dehydrated. Despite all of this, he was very sweet and friendly to everyone at the shelter. The shelter listed him as a code orange, but he was pulled on Saturday, July 22nd and was taken straight to Sherman Oaks Veterinary Group. He needed 5 baths to get clean, has had X-rays, bloodwork, and a full examination. He is now walking, eating well, and has regained some of his hearing and sight. He will need ongoing medication for his back and joints, and some dental care. He is approximately 10 years old, 8 lbs, neutered, now microchipped, and is likely a Maltese-Poodle mix. Despite the horrific life and abuse he has suffered, he is very trusting of people and is very grateful towards everyone who is helping him. In just 24 hours he is truly on the road to recovery!
