Story
Rocky is a very sweet young dog rescued from an abusive home. Rocky's owner used to shock him with a shock collar just for fun. On top of that, he was extremely underweight. When family members saw the abuse, they contacted rescue for help. They were able to get the owner to surrender Rocky, but will not testify or file a complaint against their family member. We are grateful that they intervened on Rocky's behalf. Rocky is safely in one of our best foster homes. He has been examined by our vet, vaccinated, neutered and chipped. He has been gainig weight, and has blossomed into a happy loving little dog. Rocky needs time to get to know new people and situations, so would not be good in an active home with a lot of visitors or small children. Once Rocky feels safe, he is extremely loving and devoted. He's very smart and sweet. Rocky's ideal home would be with a single adult female, preferably someone who works from home or is retired. He has a lot of love to give and just needs time to decompress. If you'd like get a lot of doggie love, can you be Rocky's hero? He's about 1 1/2 yrs old, and healthy. We're adopting out to the Southern California area. If you'd like to meet Rocky, please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com If you're not a good match, can you share Rocky's story?

Meet Jiae💙 💙 Name: Jiae 💙 Gender: Female 💙 Age: Approx. 2 years old (Born around Aug 2024) 💙 Weight: 3.9 kg (8.6 lbs) 💙 Jiae's Update Account: @jiae.is.a.dog 1️⃣ Health Status * Spayed. * Microchipped, currently undergoing treatment for heartworm and giardia. 2️⃣ Rescue Story * Jiae was found severely neglected alongside her mother (#Adogs_Sunae) in a rural village in Gyeonggi-do. Unable to leave her in such terrible conditions, Adogs urgently stepped in to rescue her. 3️⃣ Personality & Traits * People Interaction: Very affectionate with humans. Wags her tail at the slightest sign of attention and calmly enjoys being held. Loves physical affection. * Dog Interaction: Friendly and sociable. Upon arriving at the center, she happily roamed among other dogs with a wagging tail. If a potential dispute over food arises, she gently steps back. * Cat Interaction: Has not met cats yet. * Separation Anxiety: Rests well on her own without barking or showing other signs of separation anxiety, and eats and drinks well. * House Training: At the current foster home, she doesn't recognize pee pads as a designated bathroom area and holds her urine/bowels, so she is currently undergoing potty training. Currently goes outside to relieve herself. There is no marking behavior when going. * Hygiene & Grooming: Isn't fully used to baths and blow-drying yet, so she is currently practicing getting accustomed to them. Shows mild hyperventilation during baths and needs a lot of soothing afterward. Also dislikes having eye gunk removed, so desensitization training is needed. At the current foster home, her teeth are brushed once a day. Her nails haven't been trimmed yet, but she shows no resistance to having her paws touched. * Walking: Currently goes on two 20-minute walks a day primarily for potty breaks. Isn't completely comfortable on a leash yet and shows slight hesitation when guided in a direction she doesn't want to go, but follows along well if given a moment to wait. * Car Rides: Rides well without any motion sickness * Biting/Nipping: None observed * Barking: No nuisance barking or whining * Likes: Loves treats. * Dislikes: Shows no major dislikes, though she startles slightly if picked up suddenly * Overall Temperament: Active, gentle, and highly friendly toward both people and dogs.

Meet Xander Tiny, Precious, and Just Beginning His Journey Breed: Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie) Gender: Male | DOB: August 22, 2026 | Age: Very Young Puppy Weight: Approximately 3 lbs currently (small) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Kids ✔️ | Cats: Unknown Life Stage: Very Young Puppy Medical: ✔️ Vaccinations Current for His Age & Ongoing | ✂️ Neuter Pending at Age-Appropriate Time Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality, Puppyhood & Breed Information Xander is a tiny Yorkshire Terrier puppy born on August 22, 2026, currently weighing approximately 3 pounds. He is still an exceptionally young puppy with nearly his entire life ahead of him. At this age, Xander is still developing physically, emotionally, and socially. His adult personality is still forming, so his future family should be ready to provide the patience, structure, socialization, and training that will help him grow into a confident and well-adjusted adult dog. Yorkies may be small, but they are true terriers. They are often bright, curious, affectionate, lively, confident, and deeply attached to their people. They can pack an incredible amount of personality into a very little body. Because Xander is so young and tiny, he needs especially careful handling. His family should protect him from rough play, falls, unsafe jumps, larger animals that could accidentally injure him, and opportunities to slip through small openings or escape through doors and gates. His future family also needs to understand that adopting a puppy means committing to every stage of his life—not only the adorable baby stage. Training, Socialization & What to Expect Xander is at the very beginning of his learning journey. His adopter should be prepared for all the normal work that comes with raising a puppy, including: House training Age-appropriate crate training Basic commands Leash introduction Gentle handling Appropriate chewing habits Positive socialization Learning household routines Building confidence and independence Because he is still completing his puppy vaccination series, his veterinarian should guide his family on when and where it is safe for him to explore public areas and interact with unfamiliar dogs. Training should always be gentle, consistent, and based on positive reinforcement. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 Days to begin decompressing and feeling safe 3 Weeks to begin understanding his new household routine 3 Months to build trust, confidence, and a sense of home With a very young puppy, bonding and adjustment happen alongside major developmental changes, so patience and consistency are essential. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Xander's vaccinations are current for his young age, and his puppy vaccination series is ongoing. His adopter must continue all remaining vaccines and boosters according to his veterinarian's recommended schedule. His neuter will be completed when he reaches an appropriate age. His future family must also provide routine veterinary examinations, parasite prevention, dental care, appropriate puppy nutrition, healthy growth monitoring, grooming, and any medical treatment he needs throughout his life. Yorkies require regular coat care and grooming, and dental health is particularly important for small breeds. Adoption Information Apply to adopt Xander at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Ozzie and Friends Rescue is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and helping them find safe, loving forever homes. While based in Southern California, we coordinate safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. A puppy is an adorable beginning to what should be a commitment lasting many years. Xander needs a family prepared for the training, veterinary care, grooming, expenses, patience, and responsibility that come with raising a puppy into adulthood and caring for him through his senior years. Xander is only at the beginning of his story. He's tiny today, but the family who chooses him gets something incredibly special—the chance to be there for his first adventures, his first lessons, and all the years that come afterward. He's looking for a forever family who truly means forever. September 15, 2026, 10:50 am

Meet Brownie Female DOB: June 12, 2024 Weight: 8 lbs Breed: Yorkie Mix Spayed (Fixed): Yes Vaccines: Up to Date Microchipped House Trained Healthy & Adoption-Ready Personality, Breed Info & Expectations Brownie is a sweet, affectionate little girl with a kind heart and a loyal personality. At 2 years old, she has matured into a wonderful companion who enjoys being close to her people and sharing in everyday life. She has a gentle nature and loves spending time with her family, whether that means going for walks, relaxing at home, or simply being by your side. One of Brownie's best qualities is her loving and devoted personality. She forms strong bonds with the people she trusts and enjoys companionship and affection. She is the type of dog who wants to be included and loved, and she happily returns that love with unwavering loyalty. As a Yorkie Mix, Brownie is likely to be intelligent, people-oriented, and eager to engage with her family. Yorkie mixes are known for their affectionate personalities, bright minds, and adaptability. They thrive when treated as cherished members of the household and enjoy both companionship and gentle adventures. Brownie would thrive in a home prepared for: Daily companionship and interaction Continued positive reinforcement training Mental stimulation and enrichment Structure, consistency, and routine Plenty of love and affection A lifelong commitment to her emotional and physical well-being Her small size and gentle temperament make her an excellent companion for many different lifestyles. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Brownie already has a wonderful foundation and is house trained, which can make the transition into a new home easier. However, like all rescue dogs, she may need time to adjust to a new environment, routine, and family. The rescue environment itself does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, and care, adopters should expect a transition period while Brownie settles into her new life. Brownie will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily structure and routine Continued socialization and exposure Patience, consistency, and supervision Time to build trust and confidence in her new home Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 days to decompress 3 weeks to learn your routine 3 months to fully feel at home With patience and love, Brownie will blossom into an even more devoted companion. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes companionship, routine veterinary care, training, exercise, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life. Brownie will need: Daily walks and interaction Routine veterinary care and wellness exams Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention Proper nutrition and weight management Regular grooming and coat maintenance Mental stimulation and enrichment A safe, stable, indoor living environment Because of her Yorkie heritage, regular grooming and coat care will be important to keep her comfortable and looking her best. Brownie is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside. Meet Zena A Tiny Yorkie Girl With Her Whole Life Waiting for Her Breed: Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie) Gender: Female | DOB: August 22, 2026 | Age: Very Young Puppy Weight: Approximately 3 lbs currently (small) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Kids ✔️ | Cats: Unknown Life Stage: Very Young Puppy Medical: ✔️ Vaccinations Current for Her Age & Ongoing | ✂️ Spay Pending at Age-Appropriate Time Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue coordinates safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality, Puppyhood & Breed Information Zena is an absolutely tiny Yorkshire Terrier puppy born on August 22, 2026, currently weighing approximately 3 pounds. She's still a very young baby with an entire lifetime of growing, learning, and discovering the world ahead of her. At this young age, Zena's adult personality is still developing. Her future family will play an enormous role in helping her become a confident, social, well-mannered adult dog through positive experiences, training, appropriate socialization, and plenty of love. Yorkshire Terriers may be tiny companion dogs, but they have true terrier personalities. Yorkies are often intelligent, curious, affectionate, lively, confident, alert, and devoted to their families. Zena's tiny size means her family must take her safety seriously. She should be carefully supervised around larger dogs and young children, protected from falls and unsafe jumps, and securely contained around doors, gates, balconies, stairs, and other potential hazards. Tiny puppies are delicate. Being small doesn't mean needing less care—it often means needing more careful care. Training, Socialization & What to Expect Zena is just beginning to learn how the world works. Her future family should be prepared to work patiently on: House training Age-appropriate crate training Basic commands Leash introduction Appropriate chewing Gentle handling Positive socialization Household routines and boundaries Building confidence Learning how to spend short periods independently Socialization should be positive and age-appropriate, never overwhelming. Because Zena is still receiving her puppy vaccinations, her veterinarian should guide her adopter on safe exposure to public areas and unfamiliar dogs until she has sufficient vaccine protection. The 3-3-3 Rule 3 Days to begin decompressing and feeling safe 3 Weeks to begin understanding her household routine 3 Months to build trust, confidence, and a sense of home For a puppy this young, adjustment happens alongside rapid physical and emotional development. Consistency and patience will make a tremendous difference. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Zena's vaccinations are current for her age, and her puppy vaccination series is ongoing. Her adopter will be responsible for continuing all remaining vaccines and boosters according to her veterinarian's recommended schedule. Her spay will be completed when she reaches an appropriate age. Her family should also provide routine veterinary examinations, parasite prevention, appropriate puppy nutrition, dental care, grooming, healthy growth monitoring, and veterinary treatment whenever needed. Yorkies typically require regular brushing and grooming, and good dental care should begin early because small breeds can be particularly prone to dental problems. Adoption Information Apply to adopt Zena at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Ozzie and Friends Rescue is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to rescuing dogs in need and helping them find safe, loving forever homes. While based in Southern California, we coordinate safe transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Adopting a very young puppy is a major commitment. Zena's family must be ready for puppy training, veterinary appointments, continued vaccinations, grooming, socialization, accidents, growing pains, and all the responsibilities that come with raising a baby dog. Zena is only three tiny pounds right now, but the commitment she needs is enormous. She's looking for someone who will love the little puppy she is today, guide the dog she's becoming, and still be beside her many years from now when she's an old little Yorkie curled up in her favorite spot. That's what forever means. September 15, 2026, 10:50 am

Meet Wicky Abandoned as a Tiny Puppy—Wicky Is Now a Happy, Spunky Girl Ready for Her Forever Family ❤️ Breed: Mixed Breed Gender: Female | DOB: May 7, 2026 | Current Weight/Size: 8 pounds (Small Puppy) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats: Unknown | Kids ✔️ Medical: ✔️ Spay Pending (Age-Appropriate) | ✔️ Vaccinations Current for Age | ✔️ Microchipped Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue provides safe transportation to approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Wicky's Story Wicky's story started with abandonment, but this little girl isn't letting her past slow her down. Wicky was part of a litter of puppies that was abandoned and left without a family to care for them. At such a young age, she and her siblings were completely vulnerable and depended on each other until help arrived. Thankfully, they were found and brought into rescue, where Wicky finally received the food, safety, and care every puppy deserves. And Wicky quickly showed everyone exactly who she is—a happy, spunky little girl with a big personality! Wicky approaches life with enthusiasm. She's playful, curious, and ready to investigate whatever is happening around her. She loves having fun, interacting with people, and enjoying all the new experiences she missed out on during her difficult beginning. She's the kind of puppy who can make you laugh with her silly antics one minute and then happily settle in for affection the next. Her cheerful personality makes her a wonderful match for a family looking for a fun little companion to grow up alongside them. Because Wicky is still a young puppy, her personality will continue to develop as she matures. Early training, socialization, and plenty of positive experiences will help her grow into a confident and well-adjusted adult dog. Wicky would thrive in a home that offers: Plenty of love and companionship Positive reinforcement puppy training Patient and consistent house-training Daily age-appropriate play and exercise Interactive toys and mental enrichment Continued socialization A predictable daily routine A safe indoor home where she's included as part of the family A lifelong commitment through every stage of her life Wicky didn't get to choose how her story started. Now she needs a family who will make sure everything that comes next is filled with love. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Wicky is still a puppy, which means her new family gets the rewarding job of teaching her how to become a wonderful family dog. Adopters should expect normal puppy behaviors such as chewing, teething, house-training accidents, energetic play, and lots of curiosity. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to begin decompressing and feeling safe 3 Weeks to start understanding her new household routine 3 Months to settle in, build trust, and truly feel at home Wicky will benefit from positive reinforcement training from the beginning. Consistent boundaries and early socialization with different people, environments, sounds, and appropriately matched animals will help her build confidence. Her spunky personality means she'll also appreciate plenty of enrichment. Puzzle toys, short training sessions, games, walks as age-appropriate, and interactive play can help keep both her body and mind busy. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care Adopting Wicky means making a lifelong commitment to her physical and emotional well-being. Puppies require time, patience, training, veterinary care, and financial responsibility throughout their lives. Wicky's adopter should be prepared to provide: Completion of her puppy vaccination schedule Spaying when age-appropriate Routine veterinary wellness examinations Flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention as recommended by a veterinarian A nutritionally complete puppy diet appropriate for her growth Routine dental care Continued training and socialization Daily age-appropriate physical exercise Mental stimulation and enrichment Veterinary treatment whenever illness or injury occurs A safe, loving indoor home We recommend establishing care with a veterinarian shortly after adoption and continuing regular wellness visits throughout Wicky's life. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Wicky, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to giving deserving dogs a second chance at loving, permanent homes. Although we are based in Los Angeles, California, we proudly coordinate safe and reliable transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Wicky's beginning may have been uncertain, but you'd never know it from her joyful spirit. She's happy, spunky, and ready to take on the world—she just needs a forever family beside her for the adventure. ❤️September 15, 2026, 10:50 am

Story
Meet Misha! She's an adorable senior Maltese girl we rescued on her last day. Misha was so scared in the shelter, she didn't make a good first impression to potential adopters. When her time ran out, the shelter set a euthanasia date for her. We were able to save her in the nick of time. Outside of the scary shelter, Misha's personality came out. She's very loving once she gets to know you, and is well behaved. We had her seen by our vet, including labs, and had her dental done. The vet said she's a healthy little girl. Misha is ready to meet her new person and shower them with love. She is only 7 lbs, is house trained, and well behaved. Misha is looking for someone who realizes that older girls deserve love too! Misha would make a great companion for someone who is retired or works from home. She also gets along well with other dogs. Even though she's 10 yrs old, small dogs like Misha live well into their late teens, so she's barely middle aged! If you'd like to meet Misha, please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com

Story
Misha is a sweet senior who was surrendered to the shelter by her family. She was in pretty rough shape with badly matted fur and terrible dental issues. Misha patiently waited for family to return, but they never did. Instead, her time ran out and she was scheduled to be euthanized. We were able to rescue her just in the nick of time! Misha is a little scared of new people, but warms up when given a little time. She weighs just 7 lbs and has an adorable personality. Misha has a lot of love to give! We've taken her to our vet for a thorough physical and a dental. She is spayed, chipped and vaccinated. If you'd like to meet Misha, please complete our adoption application found on dexterfoundation.com
