Story
Meet Bryce! He is a 5yr old male Akita/Cattle dog mix that weighs 82lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 11/22 as a stray. He is a very handsome boy, with probably a few more breeds in the mix. He is a very strong leash walker and will need additional training to help him learn he doesn`t need to pull so much. He has an investigative nose that enjoys taking in every inch of the shelter yard. He knows the sit command and takes treats gently. He prefers stuffed toys to carry around yet couldn`t decide on a favorite. He likes to be petted and rubbed behind his ears. Due to his size he would do best in a home with adults and older children. He showed no interest in the other dogs that were barking at him but we do always ask if there is another dog in the home to ask the shelter for a dog test. If you can offer Bryce a secured yard to play in and the indoor life with a fluffy dog bed and human companions to bond with.

Story
Ben was born in a high kill shelter on 2/3/2021. He was a day old when we brought him home along with his 10 siblings and his mother. All that remains is Ben and his mom Lily. They have been waiting patiently. But now it is thThis is Ben and he has been with Chloe’s Pet Rescue since he was a newborn. He is now going on three years old. We aren’t sure why he hasn’t found his “furever” home. He’s such a handsome guy. We believe he is an Akita/American Pit Bull mix. Ben is very friendly when meeting new people (after a few sniffs and he’s good to go) and is good with other dogs. In fact, if it looks like another dog wants to get into a tiff, he walks away. Ben is energetic and loves to go outdoors. He’s great walking on a leash, knows come here, stop, breakfast and dinner and is crate and house trained. One of his favorite things to play with is a ball. Something he does not like is rain and thunder. Don’t go out and buy a new bed for this guy because he will chew it up, just throw a blanket down and he is very content. Ben’s adoption fee is $25, which includes his full vetting.

Story
Say hello to Loki, the smallest of the Akita-Cattle Dog mix puppies, but don’t let his size fool you—this pint-sized pup is packed with personality and brains! What Loki lacks in stature compared to his siblings, he more than makes up for with his sharp intelligence and fearless spirit. This dog was abandoned with me when his owner moved out. His owner has never returned to get him. I need to rehome him by the end of February 2026 because I plan on moving and won’t be able to take him with me. He’s free for anyone willing to take him. He will come with his harness, leash, and a bag of the food he eats.
