Ben was born in a high kill shelter on 2/3/2021. He was a day old when we brought him home along with his 10 siblings and his mother. All that remains is Ben and his mom Lily. They have been waiting patiently. But now it is thThis is Ben and he has been with Chloe’s Pet Rescue since he was a newborn. He is now going on three years old. We aren’t sure why he hasn’t found his “furever” home. He’s such a handsome guy. We believe he is an Akita/American Pit Bull mix. Ben is very friendly when meeting new people (after a few sniffs and he’s good to go) and is good with other dogs. In fact, if it looks like another dog wants to get into a tiff, he walks away. Ben is energetic and loves to go outdoors. He’s great walking on a leash, knows come here, stop, breakfast and dinner and is crate and house trained. One of his favorite things to play with is a ball. Something he does not like is rain and thunder. Don’t go out and buy a new bed for this guy because he will chew it up, just throw a blanket down and he is very content. Ben’s adoption fee is $25, which includes his full vetting.

Meet Bryce! He is a 5yr old male Akita/Cattle dog mix that weighs 82lbs. He came into the Mesquite Animal Shelter on 11/22 as a stray. He is a very handsome boy, with probably a few more breeds in the mix. He is a very strong leash walker and will need additional training to help him learn he doesn`t need to pull so much. He has an investigative nose that enjoys taking in every inch of the shelter yard. He knows the sit command and takes treats gently. He prefers stuffed toys to carry around yet couldn`t decide on a favorite. He likes to be petted and rubbed behind his ears. Due to his size he would do best in a home with adults and older children. He showed no interest in the other dogs that were barking at him but we do always ask if there is another dog in the home to ask the shelter for a dog test. If you can offer Bryce a secured yard to play in and the indoor life with a fluffy dog bed and human companions to bond with.

DOB - Feb. 10, 2020 Reason for rehoming: My son (owner) moved to Africa. I cannot keep him due to my lease. If he cannot be rehomed, he will have to go to a shelter. The local Akita rescue is not accepting any new dogs. Alpha is a sweet and devoted American Akita looking for a forever home where he can thrive. He is incredibly loyal, affectionate, and naturally protective of his family—once he bonds with you, he is your shadow and your biggest fan. Alpha does have environmental allergies, so he’ll need an adopter who can continue his care and keep him comfortable. He cannot be boarded, so he needs a family who can provide in-home care or trusted at-home pet sitting when traveling. He loves being near his people, enjoys calm environments, and does best with someone who understands large guardian breeds. Alpha will make an amazing companion for the right person or family—someone who values loyalty, connection, and a dog who truly loves his humans.

This handsome Husky mix is estimated to be between 2–3 years old and weighs in at a solid 75 pounds of love and loyalty. Heartworm negative and full of life, he’s taken everything in stride and still manages to flash a goofy grin through it all. Oso is incredibly dog-friendly—he loves pups big and small—and he hasn’t met a human he doesn’t want pets and attention from. He’s food-motivated (hello, training potential!) and has a sweet, silly personality that’s impossible not to love. He hasn’t quite figured out toys yet, but his playful spirit is just waiting to shine. We’re still learning how he does with cats, so stay tuned for updates! He loves tummy scratches, longggg walks, and dog parks!! He is great with all dogs (not cats--he rushes them). If he lives in a home with another dog, the younger the better to match his energy. Gaston can run for days, with his lovely tail flopping around the entire time, but if he doesn't get that energy, he will let you know! He will make the perfect dog for a young couple looking for an adventure partner, or a family with young teenaged kids to keep him playing. Gaston is INCREDIBLY smart and trainable: He is crate trained, great on a leash, can sit, stay, lay down, and *almost* roll all the way over. Mental stimulation is a must for this guy! Also...high fences. He is a true husky and a bit of an escape artist. His current foster mom and step-brother love him, but they have three senior dogs already and low fences, so she wants to give Gaston the right environment. Come meet Gaston!
