Brody is 3 years old and a lean 60lbs. We adopted him when he was 6 months old. He currently lives in a house with 2 adults, a 4 yr old and a 10 month old. He gets a little anxious when there is a lot of commotion. He is crate trained, potty trained, knows basic commands (sit, stay, down, heel). He walks and runs well on a leash. He has a lot of energy and needs exercise every day, the mile walks we are giving him daily are not enough for him. He gets along well with other dogs and loves going to doggy daycare. He is cuddly when he is in a calm mood and enjoys sunbathing outside. He is slightly mouthy which is a behavior that will need to be corrected (we thought it was just a puppy phase but he never grew out of it). He would do well in a home with only adults or older children. He was recently diagnosed with DCM which is a progressive heart condition. He doesn't show any symptoms aside from an irregular heartbeat. He has medication he needs to take twice a day.

MooMoo was found as a stray near the Lexus dealership in Riverside. A good Samaritan brought him home. The shelter was notified, flyers put up, posted in multiple lost and found sites, but no one has come forward to claim him, so he is now looking for a family that will be more careful with him. He is about a year old and weighs approximately 30 lbs. MooMoo is very playful, crate trained and seems to be potty trained. He hasn't had any full intros to other dogs yet. Sonny, an American Bulldog mix, was wandering down a busy street near a homeless encampment with no owner nearby. A woman driving by cared enough about Sonny to pull over and take the time to scoop him up. He was extremely dirty when he was found, and it’s very possible he had been living on the streets. This compassionate lady brought Sonny to AALOC for safekeeping until he finds his new forever home. Sonny is a lovable guy who enjoys attention and affection. A warm, sudsy bath uncovered his true handsomeness: Sonny is black and white with black button eyes and a black nose, accented with a bit of pink. He is a large dog, weighing in at about 70 pounds and is very strong. We feel Sonny would benefit from some basic training and needs an owner who could provide him with the exercise and discipline that would provide Sonny the best life. AVAILABLE TO FOSTER OR ADOPT Rolex is a young adult English Bulldog who was found by a good Samaritan on a sweltering day topping 95 degrees. He was brought to the Animal Assistance League of Orange County in respiratory distress with his tongue hanging out. The AALOC team rushed Rolex to the emergency room, and he recovered quickly. He is a combination of playful and lovable, unruly, and rowdy, loves his people, but thinks he’s in charge, and needs to be the only pet. AALOC has taken great care of this cutie patootie, with airway modification commonly needed with bulldogs to help them breathe better so now he is a very quiet breather! He was neutered and will be going for professional training once his foot is recovered from having a benign cyst removed. Our rescue shelter is outdoors, only with roofing and shades and misters and pools, but this is still not appropriate for flat-faced dogs who can overheat on a 70 degree day. Therefore, we are also looking for potential fosters to care for him until he is adopted. American bulldogs are brachycephalic dogs: breeds characterized by their shortened skulls and flattened faces. They can overheat and over-exert themselves very quickly. A harness must always be used instead of a leash attached to a collar for risk of tracheal collapse. Because of these special needs, a foster/adopter who has experience with brachycephalic dogs is preferred. Please apply to adopt or foster Rolex at www.AALOC.org. Wait until you hear me eat; I make a sound you would think it was my last meal. I love snacks, and I love a bath with some lotion on me afterwards. That's because Bulldogs have very temperamental skin, so make sure you lather me up when you have a chance. I wear a collar and I know how to walk on a leash. I also know basic commands, and I'm proud that I know how to do a high five. My owners have to go far away, and they're not able to take me, and I know they're sad, but I know someone out there will give me a good home and love me just as much as they did because I'm special. Make sure you keep me in a fenced-in area because a lot of people like me and they want to take me. We Bulldogs are a hot commodity these days, ya know? Of course I'm potty trained but if there's another boy dog around, I like to lift my leg here and there, but I know I can be trained not to do that. I like if you throw a ball. I'll go and get it for you. I've been in the house for over six hours by myself and haven't made a mess or set anything on fire. I also know how to go into a crate when you tell me to I like to go in there during the day or at night when I'm not in my squishy bed. I don't really have a schedule, but like I said, before, I sure love my naps me and all of my bulldog friends like to sleep a lot. We need our beauty sleep
