Story
Huey is an adorable 4-5 year-old happy-go-lucky American Bulldog/Boxer mix. Huey is excellent at all kinds of Colorado adventuring - hiking, running, camping and brewery hopping.  He's happy to crash out on the couch with his people and watch the Broncos (or Love Island, although he'll never admit it). Huey is house and crate trained, knows basic commands and is a absolute gentleman on leash. Huey LOVES kiddos and is respectful of kitties, too! Huey loves his people so much, he may prefer to be your one and only pup, but he may also do well with a well-matched dog friend. Huey is such a hilarious buddy and has the most endearing and loving personality. Huey is also a super quiet dog. His foster reports that he has never heard him bark or make much noise at all. Huey would probably be just fine in an apartment or condo setting because he is so easy and quiet but really just wants a person or family that has a lot of time to spend with him and who is looking for a cuddly, constant companion.  If you're interested in adopting Huey, please fill out an adoption application here: https://underdogsrescue.org/adopt-form/.  Underdogs is a small volunteer-based animal rescue and we unfortunately do not have the resources to respond to phone and email inquires about our adoptable animals at this time. If you're interested in learning more or setting up a meeting with one of our animals, please complete an adoption application first. It may take up to two weeks for application review and one of our coordinators will reach out to you as soon as we are through the intitial review process. We appreciate your patience and understanding! Thank you!    ##1818577##

Story
So Gemi was a rescue. I adopted her from the Denver animal shelter. I originally went there looking for a smaller dog but the dog was taken and they showed me Gemi. I fell in love and that was that. I knew she was going to be a bigger dog and was hoping to close on a house since I'm currently in an apartment so thought it wouldn't be a problem. Since then the house fell threw and she is growing like crazy and I feel bad keeping her couped up in an apartment when she really needs some space and a yard. I feel horrible but I know this is the best thing for her and I both. She's the best dog I've ever been around and is my 1st dog. She loves everyone, kids, dogs people and is super playful. She has not once showed any type of aggression towards anyone or anything. She is only 6 months so nibbles and chews up random stuff but nothing a puppy wouldn't do. I taker her out 4 to 5 times a day since I'm in an apartment and she does fine with the once in a while accident.

Story
Meet Bart, a lovable American Bulldog/French Bulldog mix who’s ready for a fresh start. Rescued from a high-kill shelter after a challenging past, Bart was returned due to fear-based behavior when he mistook a family member for an intruder. Despite his rough start, Bart has a heart full of affection and just needs some time to warm up to new people. Bart is good with other dogs and, with proper introductions, can thrive in a home with canine companions. He’s leash reactive, meaning he may react when he sees other dogs while on a leash, but with the right guidance, he can learn to manage this behavior. Bart is housetrained and has no medical issues, making him a great candidate for a family willing to offer patience and understanding. With a bit of time and a loving touch, Bart will prove to be a loyal and loving companion. He’s ready to be a cherished member of a family that can help him navigate his new beginning.

Story
Meet Blankets and Jack Jack, a dynamic duo of American Bulldog mixes who are ready to find their forever home together. Rescued from a high-kill shelter just before their time was up, these two are deeply bonded and have been through a lot together. Blankets is a sweet, timid female with a distinctive patch over one eye. She looks to Jack Jack for guidance and feels most secure when he’s by her side. Blankets is toy-motivated and loves to play, though she’s still adjusting to her new life and needs patience and understanding. Jack Jack, a mostly white male, is slightly more confident and treat-motivated. He’s a bit of a natural leader for Blankets and is eager to learn, though both dogs are still learning about human interaction and training. They’ll thrive in a loving, patient home where they can grow more comfortable and confident. Both dogs are around 2 years old and are looking for a caring family who can provide them with the training and support they need to flourish. With time, love, and patience, Blankets and Jack Jack will reward you with their deep affection and loyalty.

Story
Maddie, cane corso, spayed female, 4 yoMaddie is so adorable, comical and lots of love. Only Maddie can bark at the picture of a dog on a dog food bag. With time gets deeply attached and you can have almost human connection with her. Maddie was abandoned in a trailer with no heat, food or water, her puppies taken to be sold. We can only imagine the despair she must have felt. When she got to the rescue, she was skin and bones. But she was still giving kisses and wagging her tail when we got her at the rescue. Now Maddie is healthy, playful and energetic. Bonded with the boxer Odie, but apprehensive with the new dogs. Good with calm friendly dogs she knows.   Needs a yard with 6' fence. Adoption fee $325. If adopted with Odie, the fee will be reduced for both. If interested, please submit an adoption or foster application at https://www.sanNicolaDogRescue.comSeptember 10, 2024, 11:21 am
