Story
Hildie is the cutest couch potato you'll ever meet. She’s short, chunky, sweet, calm, and completely content just relaxing near her people. While the other dogs are running laps around the property, Hildie is usually off chilling in the shade somewhere looking adorable and minding her business. She clearly had puppies at some point in her life, but she is still a pretty young dog herself. Whatever her past looked like, she has held onto her gentle and loving personality. Hildie is incredibly low maintenance and easy to live with. She enjoys affection, loves attention, and has the kind of calm presence that instantly makes a home feel more peaceful. She does great with all dogs and is also good with cats. She is not pushy, demanding, or high energy. Good fit: someone looking for an affectionate, calm, low-maintenance companion who is happiest simply being near her people. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (neutered/spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $450 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
Duke is the kind of dog that thrives on structure—and for the right person, that’s exactly what makes him exceptional. If you like routine, consistency, and a dog that locks into a daily rhythm with you, Duke will feel like a perfect fit. Duke is a young American Bulldog mix, about 65 lbs, strong, athletic, and extremely trainable. He’s a dog who wants direction. Give him clear expectations and a consistent routine, and he settles into it quickly and confidently. He does great on a tie-out on a zip line where he has room to move but clear boundaries. That structure allows him to relax and stay balanced instead of getting overwhelmed. When Duke first arrived, he was placed in a standard wire crate to sleep at night—and he destroyed it. Not because he’s “bad,” but because he didn’t yet have structure, clarity, or the right setup. Once that changed, everything changed. Now he has a sturdy metal crate, and it’s become his favorite place. He even has a full routine: he barks to let you know he’s ready to go back in, you come over and unclip him from the tie-out, and he runs full speed straight into his crate, onto his fresh blanket (which he loves), settles in, and waits for his cookie. That’s Duke—give him a system, and he locks into it. He walks calmly on leash now, where he used to pull hard, and he transitions between activities without chaos. He’s very human-focused, eager to please, and responsive. With his person, he’s submissive and engaged. With other dogs, he can show some dominance with males, but he coexists well in a structured environment and hasn't had any issues with any of the dogs here outside of some occasional grandstanding that I easily shut down with just a verbal command even from a distance. Good fit: someone who enjoys routine, structure, and working with a dog who wants to learn and follow a system. Duke will reward that with consistency, loyalty, and a dog that truly “gets it.” Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Story
Roxy is a 4-year-old, 65 lb American Bulldog mix with a heart as big as her love for naps. This easygoing girl is wonderfully social—she gets along great with other dogs and enjoys meeting new people, always greeting them with a calm, friendly vibe. If there were a gold medal for sleeping, Roxy would take it every time. She can snooze just about anywhere, in any position, and fully embraces her title as a professional napper. Her laid-back, mellow personality makes her an ideal companion for a relaxed home looking for a low-key best friend. Roxy came out of the shelter with a bum leg, but after undergoing TPLO surgery, she’s feeling better than ever and ready to enjoy life to the fullest. Now that she’s all healed up, she’s back to being her happy, comfy-loving self. If you’re looking for a sweet, calm, and affectionate pup who will happily lounge by your side (or on your couch), Roxy might just be your perfect match. Roxy is being fostered in Aurora, Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs.* You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/roxy/. Story
Dino is a sweet, 4-5 year old, American bulldog mix who is around 55 pounds. He has the most endearing soulful eyes, underbite, spots, and little ears. He’s a little bit shy at first but with any kindness shown to him (or treats!) he quickly makes friends wants all the scratches and snuggles. He likes his walks and strolls but is overall a pretty quiet, low key, chill and gentle guy who has mastered couch potato-ing. Dino was found as a stray in Houston and landed on the dreaded ‘list’ due to lack of space at a high volume shelter. He was pretty sad and seemed to know he was in trouble. Luckily, he made some friends with the volunteers there and their cute videos, descriptions, and pictures of him got him noticed and landed him a foster home — saving his life. Dino would like a relatively chill forever home with humans he can finally depend on. He’s not very high maintenance, but it’s obvious life has not always been kind or easy for him, so we feel he deserves to be spoiled for the rest of his days. Please apply/spread the world and help this deserving boy find his family. Dino is being treated for a low grade heartworm infection and is otherwise healthy. Dino is in foster in Fort Collins , Colorado. *We require all adopters to come to Colorado to adopt. *We do not transport dogs. * You can view this wonderful dog at https://www.milehighcanine.org/post/dogs/dino You can apply for our wonderful dogs at https://www.milehighcanine.org/adopt/adoption-application/.

Story
Sporty Spots is a very handsome Saint Bernard American Bulldog mix that weighs about 80 pounds! He absolutely loves people and loves to get attention and belly rubs! He will sit with his head in your lap getting all the head scratches for hours if you let him. He is a goofball and is sure to make you laugh and smile everyday.  Spots is a super friendly and outgoing dog. He is good with children that are aged 14 and over! He loves toys, and he also loves to play in water. He is the kind of dog that would love to play in the sprinklers and have his own little pool he can play in. He really loves to play with balls, he will chase them all day. Spots would do best in a home that has a backyard for him to run around in.  Spots does well with some dogs that are his size or larger. Spots will need to go to a home that has a strong handler and has owned large dogs before. So far, he has learned to sit, stay, and lay down.  Overall, Spots is an amazing dog that is waiting for his forever home. He is very loyal and very friendly with other people. He also is very protective of his home and loves to keep patrol of his yard! He loves toys and water and would make the perfect travel buddy! If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer-run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision-making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Hi! I am Pawl Stanley and I am a 2-year-old, 70lbs, neutered, and chipped. I have a loving personality and just want to be everybody’s friend! I haven’t had the best life until now. I was abandoned by my previous family and left in an apartment for around 2 weeks with no food and only the toilet to drink from. I was found there and brought to the shelter. A foster stepped up to get me out of the shelter and now things are looking up for me! I get to spend time with humans and both big and small dogs. I love everyone! I like to play with other dogs, but sometimes I get a little too excited for the small dogs and scare them when I do my play dance too close to them! My foster family has been working with me on my manners - I am a good boy, but I am doing my best to become the best boy I know I am meant to be! I already know how to sit, and I am currently learning crate training, wait/stay, leash walking, and basic manners. My foster family says I'm improving every day! I don’t really understand personal space because I want to be close to my friends. Some of my favorite things are making friends (both human and dog), chew toys, eating my veggies (like carrots and broccoli), going on walks (even in light rain), and diving for ice cubes in the water bowl. While I do enjoy my foster family, I am looking for my forever home. I want to be a part of a family that needs a big, excited, bundle of love in their lives! If you are interested in adding Stanley into your family, please fill out the adoption application below! https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DDAR/Dog ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. We rarely know a dog's exact age nor are we able to tell the true or full breed mix of dogs as our information is limited most of the time. ***

Cal is such a sweet girl. She is learning everything there is to learn about living in a home and meeting other people and animals. She is fine with the cat in the home and is enthusiastic about playing with other dogs. She goes to the office every day and meets lots of people and sleeps in her crate at night (and sometimes at the office too!). She is learning something new everyday and doing so well with all of the things! Cal enjoys getting love, eating, and playing with her toys and other dogs.
