Story
Friends to the Forlorn Adopt-a-BullBreed: Great Dane/American Bulldog Gender: Male Estimated Date of Birth: April 15, 2012 Size:  85lbs Location:  Dallas, GA RESCUING STONE Stone was originally adopted from Douglas County Animal Control when he was a small pup. That family gave him to another family, who then gave him to a third family, and he ended up a Fulton County Animal Control. He was next in line to get put to sleep at the shelter and we were able to pull him on the day he was scheduled to be euthanized. ABOUT STONE Stone is a giant. Our best guess is that he’s a Great Dane/American Bulldog mix. He is a big, playful goof and he loves toys … although he has not quite learned to bring them back to you. Stone does not understand his size or strength. It is very clear that a lack of basic obedience and being dumped several times in his formative years has affected him immensely. Stone is not very trusting of new people. He takes time to warm up and can be rather intimidating due to his size and behavior. He is reactive when in public to people and other dogs. Once he trusts you, you are part of his inner circle and he will show you his true personality. His true personality shines … he is fun loving, sweet, and silly. Because his previous owners simply dumped him off onto the next family, he lacked all leadership and guidance in his formative years so he does not know what behavior is acceptable and what is not. Stone does jump up on people and could benefit from some serious obedience training. He is reactive on leash in public and will require a strong owner. Stone also has trust issues and insecurities with strangers due to his previous life experiences. He will require a 6 foot privacy fence and a strong, experienced owner that is willing to take the time to get to know him and work with him on obedience. Due to his size and behavioral concerns, we do not recommend Stone for a home with children. Story
Navy is an almost one year old Bulldog mix, who is sure to charm you! This little girl loves spending time in the park, where she scampers from spot to spot, finding anything and everything interesting. Her cute short legs work overtime as she frolics through the grass, and her tail wags the entire time! Navy enjoys chasing toys, and she will occasionally do an adorable play bow just to get you in on the fun too. She seems ok with other dogs, although a Meet n’ Greet is always recommended if other dogs are in the household. Navy also didn’t react to a feral cat, other than being curious about it. She has been patiently waiting for a loving furever home, and she certainly deserves it. So if you are looking for a playful and lovable addition to your family, be sure to meet Navy soon! The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip. Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Phone: 770-214-3590. Story
Diana is a 1 year old female Bulldog/Lab mix, who came to the shelter with her brother Clark. Both currently live in the same pen together, and while they clearly like each other, they can be adopted separately or together. Diana is initially a little shy, and is happy to let her brother check out new people first. But once she knows you, she adores you and will rush forward to greet you with her precious smile!  Diana is a very sweet lovey-dovey girl, who enjoys cuddles and belly rubs. Her soulful eyes are so hard to resist, and will steal your heart! Diana and Clark are entertaining when they start playing together, and they will often gently wrestle with each other before stopping for a rest.  Diana also enjoys going on walks, or simply hanging out with you. Overall, Diana is dreaming of a loving home, where she can be a cherished member of the family.   The adoption fee covers the following: spay or neuter surgery; one-year rabies vaccine; feline or canine distemper vaccine; heartworm test (dogs) or combo (fiv/felv) test (cats); deworming; and microchip.Carroll County Animal Shelter is located at 251 Automation Drive in Carrollton GA. Tata was on a wonderful adventure when spotted and was brought to the shelter with ID on 7/24. Sadly, no one has made an effort to come take her back home. Tata is just 1.5 years old and weighs 67lbs. She is beautiful, sweet, calm and quiet in her run. Tata is attentive and obedient. How could you not fall in love with this precious baby? She is so adorable in her pictures! She is a pretty little girl who is looking for a family to love. She is smart as a whip as she understands simple commands such as sit when asked and she may know more. She would love it if you would take the time to teach her everything she needs to know in this journey called pup life. Please take some time and visit with her in Run 57 and ask for ID 660566. She is waiting for you! Please help her find her way out of the shelter and into your heart, home and family. Story
Please come meet this lovely little girl named Polly. Miss Polly wanted to explore the world and was discovered and brought to the shelter on 7/24. She is a cute, petite little gal who is sweet, loving and very attentive and enjoys playing with her toys while she patiently waits for her new home. A volunteer stopped by her kennel to spend some time with her and make her feel very welcomed. Despite being in a loud space, she doesn't let it get her spirits down. The volunteer describes her as very affectionate and a wiggle butt and gives great kisses! She loves the treats and blanket that was given to her to make her room more comfortable. She is a smart baby as she knows how to sit all by herself and that is is so awesome! She may know more and would be the perfect student if someone would take the time to teach her. Please come see this little princess soon and get to know her more. Polly is just 4 years old and weighs about 41lbs. She's current on vaccines and spayed; she will be heartworm tested and microchipped upon adoption. She will be waiting for you to save her life in Run 20. Her ID is 660548. Story
Hello lovely people! I'd like to take the time to introduce myself if you don't mind. My name is Graham. I decided to take an awesome adventure in hopes I would find a kind and loving home to spend my near golden years and before I could find a proper one, I was brought to the shelter with ID on 7/24.Sadly, no one has tried to come look for me and take me home. Its a pretty sad situation and I'm sad because I don't want to spend another minute of my almost golden years in a loud, overcrowded shelter. Especially in a strange kennel for nearly 24 hours a day. I look forward to my walks and playtime with my friends, the volunteers. That little bit of time outside my kennel I cherish. I would really like to spend the rest of my years with you in a warm, welcoming home filled with nothing but love. and kindness everyday. Can you help me make my wish come true soon? I really hope so! I am a cute, sweet, gentle older fellow that deserves a better life. Wouldn't you agree? I am a very intelligent boy, too, and I do know how to sit when asked. So at some point I had someone that loved me enough to teach me some manners. I'm sure I know a little more and you could teach me even if I don't. Spend time with me and I'll show all the great things I could do! I am still eager to please and I can learn anything I don't know already. I will be your best student if you would be my best teacher! Oh, I am 6 years old and I also weigh 63lbs and every pound is nothing but pure love!! Which is a plus in my pup book! If you have got a loving heart to make time for me in your world, then I am your forever boy and I will be waiting for you. Just give me a chance and be patient with me. I would like to be apart of a family again and be wanted and loved and included in everything. I'm still a young pup at heart and a true love bug. Come see me please!! Graham is current on vaccines, neutered and micro chipped. Hanson will be tested for heart worms also upon his adoption. Come visit him and allow him to live the rest of his adult life happily. He won't let you down. Graham will be waiting for his guardian angel in Run 26 and his ID is 660564. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers.
