Story
A WONDERFUL YOUNG PUP:  Approx. 8 – 9 months old / Approx. 39 lbs. & growing  Hi, my name is Taffy!  I had a home, but my owner simply did not have the time to devote to me that I deserved, so I made my way to Mostly Mutts in order to find a new family to love and be loved by. I’m soaking up all the attention from the volunteers at the shelter and can’t wait to do the same with my new family!  I’m currently in the prison/foster training program off site and learning a lot!  Please inquire at 770-272-6888 to find out when I'm available to meet. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met a male dog at Mostly Mutts that I really liked.  I still need to be tested with female dogs, so check back soon to see how I did.  In the meantime, if you have a nice doggy at home who would enjoy a puppy friend, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met kids at Mostly Mutts that were around 10 years old, and I liked them!  I was interested in grabbing their feet when they ran though, so I’m working on that.  If you have kids around 10 and up, let’s meet and best no toddlers or very young kids. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I’m a super friendly and fun pup with a sweet personality.  A typical pup, I am playful and fun.  The volunteers who care for me describe me as ‘the most delightful, sweet girl with a happy energy’.  A true lap dog, my affectionate nature will surely bring lots of joy to a lucky family! / My energy level is 5-6+.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I’m in the Mostly Mutts University training program now and have mastered the ‘sit’ command so far and I look forward to learning more. I’m working on my leash manners and am using the ‘WE’ leash to help me with that.  I’m sure I’ll improve in the prison/foster training program. For now, kids should not walk me though. / I've been having some accidents on the shelter schedule.  Please continue to be consistent with me on a good schedule, so I can master my potty skills. • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love to spend time playing with the volunteers – readily giving and receiving affection and kisses.  My leash manners are pretty good for a young pup, even though I am a strong girl. / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. I am looking for a great home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  October 22, 2024, 6:44 am

Story
A REAL PEOPLE DOG:  Approx. 6 years old / Approx. 26 lbs. Hi, my name’s Irwin and I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control.  Since joining the MM family, I’ve been soaking up all the love from the volunteers who come to care for me.  I hear that I’m now ready to find my new family, and I am so excited for that day.  Hopefully it will be soon!      • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I recently met dogs at Mostly Mutts, and I was a little shy, but didn’t show any aggression and played a little after warming up for a few minutes.  I also did well with the dog in my temp. foster home.  I was gentle and friendly with her though we didn’t play together.  We did share my temp. foster dad’s lap, so if you have a friendly dog at home already, let’s meet. / I met a cat recently in a foster home and I was respectful and co-existed with them, simply sniffing them and going on my way.  I also did not react to the one I saw on my walk, so if you have a dog-friendly cat, let’s meet and see if we can be friends. / There was a 13- and 18-year-old in my temp. foster home and I was friendly and gentle with them and enjoyed when they pet me. So, if you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over.   • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as friendly, calm, gentle, sweet, and a charmer as well as the sweetest boy who will melt your heart.  I’m looking for a family that has a stay or work from home family member as my favorite thing in life is to sit by my people or even on their lap.  I can be a bit of a couch potato, with a calm/low energy level when we are inside hanging out together.  I had little spurts of play but was mostly chill in the home.  They also said that I didn’t bark much (except when in that dreaded crate), but I did whine when my foster was walking away from me or when left inside by myself.  They also reported that I was an all-around sweetie!  I really seem to love everyone I’ve met so far and I’m sure I’ll love my new family too! / In my temp. foster home my energy level was approx. 3-5.  At the shelter it’s more like 4-6.  • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program where so far, I have learned the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands as well as accept friendly strangers without jumping and utilize proper door etiquette.  I also walk nicely on a leash.  / The crate and I are not friends!  In my temp. foster home, I hated it and would cry, howl and bang against it, eventually settling down but it took a while, so it’s probably best I don’t live in an apartment/condo type home due to this. If you want to crate train me, I’ll need you to do it slowly and use positive reinforcement training (making it a place I can like).  MM will be glad to give you tips on that.  Perhaps I won’t need a crate in my new home.  I’m also not a fan of being in my crate at the shelter. / I had accidents on the shelter schedule but did wonderful in my temp. foster home (for me everything is better in a nice home!). I’d go and stand close to the door to let them know I needed to go potty, and I didn’t have any accidents the 2 days I was there.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Most of all, I love being by my humans.  I met some strangers in my temp. foster home and loved on them like I knew them already.  I also like toys and playing fetch as well as chasing critters in the yard.  Walks are also on my likes list. / Besides my hate for the crate, I also don’t really like being left alone much and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m getting medicated baths for a little while to help with some discomfort on my front feet.  These can easily be done in my new home.  I’m also taking Apoquel, an allergy medication to help – this may be a temporary medication – just ask about this.  I’m looking for a wonderful family with a stay or work from home family member who will be patient with me at first – giving me a little time to settle in and feel comfortable. My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  October 22, 2024, 6:44 am

A SWEET & FUN FELLOW:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 28 lbs. Hello – I’m Ryan!  I was so glad that Mostly Mutts was able to rescue me from animal control.  I am soaking up all the love and care from the volunteers, and now they say I am ready to meet my new family!  Such great news, and – I’m ready!   • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met some other dogs at Mostly Mutts and liked them, so if you have a dog already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  The volunteers describe me as ‘a handsome little fun and friendly pup’.  I’m inquisitive and curious about my surroundings.  I will charm you with my expressive eyes and sweet nature.  According to the folks that spend time with me, I am a pretty chill guy with a  sometimes ‘Zen/cool vibe’ but I also like being active with them too. / Energy level: 5-7. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program and can't wait to learn lots of new skills with my trainer! I’ll also be polishing my leash skills, as I do pull, as I am an enthusiastic walk at times/other times I walk rather well on my leash.  Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I've only had a few accidents on the shelter schedule so hopefully that will translate to easy to master in my new home once I learn the routine.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  Let’s take lots of walks together, because I love to use my sniffer to check out my world.  I’m somewhat interested in playing with toys, so maybe  we can pick some out together. I also enjoy mealtime and am food motivated – yum! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have mild tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future.    I am looking for a home where I will be a much-loved pup!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  October 22, 2024, 6:44 am

This beauty is what pure love looks like. Introducing this charming, sweet little girl named Tata. She is full of love looking for someone to love forever. Tata was on a wonderful adventure when spotted and was brought to the shelter with ID on 7/24. Sadly, no one has made an effort to come take her back home. Tata is just 1.5 years old and weighs 67lbs. She is beautiful, sweet, calm and quiet in her run. Tata is attentive and obedient. How could you not fall in love with this precious baby? She is so adorable in her pictures! She is a pretty little girl who is looking for a family to love. She is smart as a whip as she understands simple commands such as sit when asked and she may know more. She would love it if you would take the time to teach her everything she needs to know in this journey called pup life. Please take some time and visit with her in Run 57 and ask for ID 660566. She is waiting for you! Please help her find her way out of the shelter and into your heart, home and family. Story
Hello lovely people! I'd like to take the time to introduce myself if you don't mind. My name is Graham. I decided to take an awesome adventure in hopes I would find a kind and loving home to spend my near golden years and before I could find a proper one, I was brought to the shelter with ID on 7/24.Sadly, no one has tried to come look for me and take me home. Its a pretty sad situation and I'm sad because I don't want to spend another minute of my almost golden years in a loud, overcrowded shelter. Especially in a strange kennel for nearly 24 hours a day. I look forward to my walks and playtime with my friends, the volunteers. That little bit of time outside my kennel I cherish. I would really like to spend the rest of my years with you in a warm, welcoming home filled with nothing but love. and kindness everyday. Can you help me make my wish come true soon? I really hope so! I am a cute, sweet, gentle older fellow that deserves a better life. Wouldn't you agree? I am a very intelligent boy, too, and I do know how to sit when asked. So at some point I had someone that loved me enough to teach me some manners. I'm sure I know a little more and you could teach me even if I don't. Spend time with me and I'll show all the great things I could do! I am still eager to please and I can learn anything I don't know already. I will be your best student if you would be my best teacher! Oh, I am 6 years old and I also weigh 63lbs and every pound is nothing but pure love!! Which is a plus in my pup book! If you have got a loving heart to make time for me in your world, then I am your forever boy and I will be waiting for you. Just give me a chance and be patient with me. I would like to be apart of a family again and be wanted and loved and included in everything. I'm still a young pup at heart and a true love bug. Come see me please!! Graham is current on vaccines, neutered and micro chipped. He will be tested for heart worms also upon his adoption. Come visit him and allow him to live the rest of his adult life happily. He won't let you down. Graham will be waiting for his guardian angel in Run 26 and his ID is 660564. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers.
