Story
AN ACTIVE & FUN FRIEND:  Approx. 4 years old / Approx. 32 lbs. Hi, my name is Victor!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am so happy to be soaking up all the love and attention from the volunteers.  They are here every day to be sure I am a happy, healthy guy ready to meet my new family.  Well, that time has come, and I am ready for my ‘happily ever after’.  Come meet me soon!  I got to participate in the prison/foster training program and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and do not like them, so I’d like to be your only dog. / Cats unknown. / I met a nice boy and a girl around 10 years old at Mostly Mutts and I was a bit all over them in a happy & excited way – being a bit mouthy and chasing them when they ran, so kids 15+ may be a better match for me.  Let’s meet!  Also, it would be best that kids do not walk me due to my strength and dislike for other dogs. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I am a super active and fun guy with a friendly and playful demeanor.  My affectionate nature has charmed the volunteers, and they refer to me as ‘a super sweet boy’.  In fact, my whole body wags with excitement when I know it’s my turn to spend time with them.  I can be a bit mouthy when I’m excited, but I am easily redirected.  Social, loving and energetic, I’d be happiest with an owner that matches my energy level and has time to be active with me. / My energy level is 6-7, so let’s have fun together! • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a proud graduate of the Mostly Mutts University training program so I’ve learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘down’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners using my gentle leader as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I also know some silly commands such as ‘bang bang’ and I ‘play dead’.  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts. / I have good potty habits in the prison/foster training program, so hopefully that will be the case in my new home too!    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love people and enjoy any activity with them – the more activity the better!  Affectionate and loving, I also put energy into giving kisses and happy tail wags and I’m a big fan of belly rubs and playing with toys.  I love to get my energy out by playing with tennis balls in the play yard with the volunteers. / I don’t care for other dogs, and I’m not too sure about passing motorcycles, so perhaps a quieter waling area would be nice. I can’t think of any other dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family for life!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  May 28, 2025, 7:24 am

Story
AN ADORABLE & WONDERFUL GIRL:  Approx. 7 years old / Approx. 46 lbs. Hello – I’m Etta!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am happy and grateful for the great care I’m receiving as part of the Mostly Mutts family!  The volunteers all have great things to say about me, and I bet you will agree that I am a super girl.  Plan to come meet me soon and see if I am your new furry family member!  I’m in a great foster home while I wait for my furever family to find me. • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I met other dogs at Mostly Mutts and I’m learning to play with them now, so if you have a dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I met a young boy around 7 years old in my foster home and I liked him.  If you have kids, let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  You could say I am a volunteer favorite as they report that I’m ‘a wonderful dog’ who is ‘as sweet as can be’.  I seem to be applying for the title of ‘best girl ever’, and I’m nailing the interview!  I am super affectionate and see myself as a lap dog – all 46 pounds of me!  My foster describes me as a ‘velcro dog’ as I just love following her all around and helping her with her various activities.  I seem to believe that if you have hands, they should be petting me at all times - LOL!  I seemingly didn’t live in the lap of luxury before coming to Mostly Mutts - with fur staining, a broken tail and sore skin.  However, my resilient love of people didn’t fade as I love all the volunteers, and I was super sweet for my shelter bath, too - melting the heart of my bather while gazing at her with my beautiful eyes and adorable smile. I do enjoy a 2-mile walk with my foster each morning as well as zoomies in the fenced yard. / My energy level is 4-6 with the occasional higher burst of energy. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I’m a smart girl who knows the ‘sit’ and ‘come’ commands, as well as proper door etiquette, accepting friendly strangers without jumping and proper leash walking.  My foster is teaching me the ‘leave it’ and ‘drop it’ commands.  I also know how to give ‘paw’ so my foster can wipe the mud off my feet before I come inside, and to ‘sit’ and ‘stay’ for my food before dinner.  I have picked up a few miscellaneous items in the yard and carried them into the house, so just watch for this please.  Occasionally when I’m eager for attention or excited to play, I’ll be gently and affectionately mouthy with my foster — it’s just one of my ways of showing love!  / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts and in my foster home. / My potty habits are good in my foster home, where I let my foster know that I need to go outside.  • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I absolutely love people, and spending time with them is just the best.  I enjoy my walks with the volunteers and my fosters and can’t wait to cuddle and give kisses of appreciation to them.  I like a soft place to lie and a soft toy or bone to play with.  I like when my foster brushes me with a glove mitt because it feels so nice, even if I get playful and try to turn it into a little game after about 10 brushes.  Then, I love to race around the backyard with happy zoomies at my foster’s house.  I’m ready to be a sweet companion and a treasured family pet to a lucky family! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and spayed. As mentioned above, I have a broken tail that has healed crooked, but it doesn’t bother me, and I think it just adds to my charm. I take an over-the-counter inexpensive Cosequin tablet that is good for all dogs my age and older.  Shortly after arriving I had vaginal prolapse repair surgery and was spayed and I’m doing well!  I have moderate tartar on my teeth, so my adoptive family should consult with their vet and consider a dental cleaning in the future. I am looking for a wonderful home where I will be a much-loved family member! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  July 3, 2025, 8:07 am

This sweet lady is Calypso! She arrived at the shelter as a lost girl on 6/3, and no one has come to reclaim her. Phoenix was found with bloody legions all over her from a really bad skin infection. She was wandering in the heat and ready to collapse. Her foster mama found her and had nursed this pretty girl back to health. She was shy in the beginning but her personality has really coming out. She enjoys being outside and playing with her doggie siblings. She is a big girl who seems to take everything in stride. Is Phoenix the love you have been looking for?
