Story

Spot is a big, goofy puppy. He is about a year old. He loves playing with all his dog friends in his foster home. He loves people, as well, and doesn't meet a stranger. He loves chews and toys, especially toys with squeakers! Spot is a smart boy and eager to learn. He is house trained, crate trained, walks on a leash, and knows "sit". As far as background, he was rescued from animal control in October. We only know he came in as a stray and wasn't reclaimed. He was a shelter favorite. When they put out and SOS (Save our Spot), we couldn't say no! Get in touch to schedule a meet and greet with Spot.

Story

Spot came from Polk County where he had been picked up as a stray and was never reclaimed. He was a staff favorite and when they put out an S.O.S. (Save our Spot), One his very last day, a memeber of the AMWB community came to his rescue. They could not see this young man being put down for space. She adopted him with the intention of giving him more time to find his forever Spot.   Spot is just over a year old. He is crate trained, house trained, walks well on a leash, and knows sit and give paw. He has a sweet, gentle yet playful personality. Stuffies are his absolute favorite things in the world! He loves to snuggle up with his favorite people and stuffies. Spot is very dog friendly. He could do well with other dogs, or even thrive as an only dog. Spot has been around children as young as 7 and does great with them. We feel like no cats or cats housed in a separate area that Spot would not have access to would be safest. He is neutered and up to date on vaccines. ##1948115##

Story

This beautiful girl is Miley. She is an American Bulldog Mix aprox 4-5 years old. She is sweet and very loving. Miley is currently a little plump at 75-80lbs and could stand to lose 10 pounds. Miley loves food and is not motivated to leave the couch if you are not going with her. She is good with children, but we would prefer she go to a home with older children (teenager) due to her sleeping issues. At times Miley wakes up from a deep sleep afraid and unaware of her surroundings. This can be problematic if she is sleeping on your lap and she is thrashing around. Training Miley to sleep on her bed and not the couch should be an easy fix.  Miley tells us that she would like to be an only dog because she deserves all the treats, attention and toys. Miley would make a wonderful loving companion. She is quiet in the house, house trained, and walks gently on a leash. Miley’s desire for a quieter less active lifestyle would make her well suited for a house or an apartment. She is gorgeous and oh so sweet. At adoption events she will press her body against the wire crate to get pets and scratches. All most to the point of tipping the crate over. If you are paying too much attention to someone, she will paw at you to get your attention. She loves people and just can't get enough lovingn, howere she can be particular about the company that she chooses both people and other dogs. She would love to be in an only dog home getting all of the attention. Life was not always so sweet for MIley. Before coming to rescue, she was tied up in the yard, living her life outside. She had many, many litters of puppies in her life. Story

this is miss mabel. i found her in the street one day and got out to try and save her but she ran from me. then a few days go by and my friend called me saying this dog showed up at their apartment and it was her ! so i went and picked her up immediately and took her to the pound to see if she was chipped and also to see if her owner would show. i waited a week and nobody came for her so i went to get her from the pound to foster her until i found her a new home. mabel is the sweetest old lady and she loves her some attention. she’s about 9 years old but don’t let that age fool you because she’s very active. she loves to go on walks and run around outside. mabel is also deaf and partially blind as well. i’m not too sure how she does will other animals or kids but i will say she would probably do best in a house without. if you or anyone you may know is interested please reach out !! this old lady needs an amazing and loving home instead of being on the streets or locked in the pound !!

Story

I found Gracie on a 2-lane road close to the GA/AL border. Skinny with her ribs showing, with paw pads bloody and raw. She let me pick her up and got her in the car and then found the nearest veterinarian and - of course - she had not been chipped or spayed. She gulped down food as if she hadn't eaten in days. I checked with my wife to see if we could keep her (we already had 2 dogs and 2 cats) and she said of course! Gracie settled in and quickly was house-trained and slept in her crate at night. 99% of the time she got along with both of our other dogs, but in situations where they were all jammed up together when the doorbell would ring, she would latch on to the back of the neck of our smallest dog. Thankfully, not hurt or injured and no blood, but scary to see. Our veterinarian put Gracie on generic Prozac to see if that would help - and it has - but she has since nipped a Chihuahua on the lip when they were jammed up in the kitchen. Gracie loves humans but reacts to other dogs.

Meet London- she is in immediate need of a foster or furever home! London was born June 2015 and is a bulldog/cattle dog mix. She LOVES her food, people, and squeaky toys. She is fully housebroken, crate trained, sleeps through the night without a peep, and learns the routines of the house very quickly, she is a very smart girl! London is a huge fan of toys, especially squeaky ones. She craves human affection and is not food/resource aggressive towards humans at all. London needs to be in an only dog household.
