Story
This pup is eligible for our Test the Couch program — a 7-day trial adoption to see if your home (and your couch) is the perfect fit. Learn more  https://pipsrescue.org/test-the-couch/ Meet Iris, a sweet, snuggly, and old soul who is ready to retire into her dream home. She’s all about the simple pleasures in life like leisurely walks, expert level naps, and maximum coziness. Iris is affectionate, loyal, and deeply devoted to her person. She lives for attention, couch cuddles, and strategically placing herself at your feet while you work so you never forget she’s there. She is an excellent car ride companion and enjoys getting out for adventures, though she can occasionally put a little extra enthusiasm into the leash. At home, she is a professional snoozer and odds are high you will find her exactly where you left her, usually on the couch. When it comes to other dogs, Iris knows what she likes. She requires slow, thoughtful introductions and prefers older, neutral males or being your one and only. Dominant female dogs need not apply. She can coexist with a younger neutral female with management, but in her heart she prefers calm, middle aged or senior companions. Puppies are tolerated in short doses, but she has officially entered her “get off my lawn” era and has no interest in raising the neighborhood hooligans. Because Iris is a bit older and sometimes likes her personal space respected, a home with kids over 10 is recommended. She is sweet and loving, but sore joints and grabby hands are not her idea of a good time. Iris is firmly anti crate and would like that known. She does just fine left out or in a dog safe room. Her biggest temptations include bathroom trash cans, unattended dirty laundry, and food left on low tables. Counters and dining tables are safe. She will not chew toys, Legos, or stuffed animals. Her true hobbies are napping and quietly supervising household activities. She comes with some endearing quirks. A bag of dog food left on the floor is suspicious and will be guarded. Put that same food in a bin and all is right with the world. At night, Iris sometimes hears very important things, possibly a squirrel sneezing or a leaf thinking too loudly, and feels the need to report it. A box fan or white noise machine helps her sleep peacefully. Iris tolerates baths and nail trims like a champ, though she can be a little sensitive about her ears. She is quirky, loving, loyal, and bonds deeply with her people. Iris is looking for a calm, understanding home that appreciates a seasoned dog with opinions, boundaries, and a whole lot of love to give. If you are searching for a devoted companion who wants nothing more than to nap near you, supervise your life, and be adored in return, Iris might just be your girl. ##2285665##

Story
* Special thanks to Five Freedoms Photography for taking Chip’s amazing professional photos and showing off his amazing personality! Thank you to Urban Tails Durham for their sponsorship of the photoshoot!   Meet Chip — a 1-year-old Boxer/Pit Mix weighing 42 lbs, full of energy, charm, and love! Quick Facts: Name: Chip Breed: Boxer/Pitbull Mix Age: 1 year old Weight: 42 lbs. House-Trained: Yes Crate-Trained: Yes Good with Dogs: Should be the only dog in the house Good with Cats: No (unless they really like to be chased!) Good with Kids: Would do best in an adult only home Energy Level: Medium to High Fence Required: No (he is good on a leash) About Chip’s Breed: Our best guess is that Chip is a Boxer/Pitbull mix. The Boxer/Pitbull mix, often called a Bullboxer Pit, is a strong, energetic, and affectionate hybrid breed. They combine the loyalty and protective instincts of the Pitbull with the playful, athletic nature of the Boxer, making them excellent companions for active families. These dogs are typically medium to large in size (around 50–80 lbs) and thrive in homes where they receive consistent training, early socialization, and plenty of exercise. They are known to be loving, loyal, and good with children, but because of their energy and strength, they do best with experienced owners who can provide structure and outlets for play. An ideal home for a Boxer/Pitbull mix is one with space to run, an active lifestyle, and a family ready to give them both affection and guidance. All About Chip: Chip is “all boy” with a playful spirit and an infectious little smile that wins hearts everywhere he goes! Despite a rough start to life, his endearing nature shines through—he’s potty trained, crate trained, and has excellent house manners. He can be trusted uncrated when you’re away and is very polite at mealtime, though his love of food means he’ll happily scarf down his own (and anyone else’s) if given the chance! Known as the “social butterfly” of the rescue, Chip loves literally everyone he meets. He’s an enthusiastic playmate but would do best as the only pet in the house. On leash, Chip does well and would thrive with an active family ready for adventures like hiking, running, or long walks. He has a more dominant play style. While he loves to snuggle and hug, Chip can be what we jokingly refer to as “aggressively affectionate”, sometimes to the point of being overwhelming, but he responds beautifully to food treats and positive reinforcement. Chip’s Highlights: • 42 lbs of playful energy, loves to play hard and smile big • Potty and crate trained, with great house manners • Social butterfly, adores people but would do best with adults only • Best with school-aged kids, loves active play • Wants to be your one and only pet! • Adventure-ready, enjoys hiking, running, and walking • Affectionate snuggler, loves hugs and responds well to treats Chip is the bestest, best boy—a loving, playful companion who’s ready to bring joy, laughter, and adventure to his forever family! * Special thanks to Five Freedoms Photography for taking Chip’s amazing professional photos and showing off his amazing personality! Thank you to Urban Tails Durham for their sponsorship of the photoshoot! Story
Meet Selena! This super sweet, energetic, and loving girl is ready for her forever home! She is an absolute goofball and is welcoming to any and everyone. It's hard not to fall in love with her. Selena is fully potty trained and has had no accidents despite recently living in a boarding facility. Selena is a high energy dog who loves to run around and burn off lots of energy! Her favorite thing to do is go on a long walk at the end of the day. Selena would thrive with an owner who can dedicate a couple of hours a day of exercising her. Selena would best fit in a home with no cats or small animals given her history of liking to chase small animals. Selena is quite the escape artist and can break out of a normal wire crate. She is also super snuggly and loves getting lots of attention. She does have a heart murmur that has been assessed by a cardiologist - she has no symptoms, so she is currently on a twice a day pill that she takes in a treat! If you're looking for a sweet, cuddly, and energetic pup, Selena might be the perfect match for you!Adoption fee of $150 includes spay, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/March 11, 2026, 12:57 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Celeste is a total love, she adores her humans and aims to please.  She loves to wrestle with her canine pals, and would adore another dog in the home to play with.  Her favorite activity is to go on walks and hikes, so she definitely requires an active home that will supply regular exercise.  Her second favorite activity is fetch, so sessions of retrieving between exploration sessions is a winning combo for her in life.  But don't worry, one this girl has an outing- she's all about the cuddle sessions too- fair warning- she's a total couch and bed hog...  She would love another dog in her forever home- she is a wonderful buddy to dogs- both big and small.   Celeste would do best in a home where her humans are not gone for long hours.  She does require a fenced in yard (physical fencing, no invisible fences please).  All humans in the home should be 6 years of age, or older.  She has been spayed and microchipped, and is current on preventatives and vaccines.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 16, 2026, 10:17 pm

Story
Meet Dolly 🤍
Dolly is a young & energetic 100% pocket pittie (don’t worry, we won’t charge extra for that). She came to us pregnant, raised seven perfect puppies (two of which competed in this year’s Puppy Bowl!), and now it’s her turn to find her forever home. 💞 Personality:
Dolly adores people — and she knows they adore her right back. Every time she spots a stranger her whole backend wags as she begs for a little affection. While she absolutely loves meeting all types of people, Dolly is seeking a home with adults or older teens. 🛋️ Favorite Activities
: Cuddling is non-negotiable. Dolly and her foster mom have nightly couch races to see who can claim the best snuggle spot first. When she’s not cuddling, she loves watching TV (Heated Rivalry is her current fave) and even FaceTiming her foster mom when she’s away. 🐾 Playtime
: She’s great on walks and loves exploring, but her dream come true is a yard to run and romp around in and to go on adventures outside the home and to play fetch and other games. A fenced yard isn’t required but would make her very happy! After playtime, she’s all about nap time. 🐶 Dog-Friendly
: Dolly can be a little shy around other dogs when on walks (she likes to just pause the walk as she watches them walk by), but gets along great with her foster siblings and loves to play hard with them (one of whom is one of her own pups!). She would thrive as an only dog or with a well-matched companion — ideally a confident, stable young dog who communicates appropriately and enjoys playtime. Dolly hasn’t been cat tested. 🏠 Home Manners
: Dolly is crate-trained, quiet, and well-behaved indoors. Even when she has to hang out in another room away from her foster siblings, she doesn’t bark or whine — just gives a very convincing pout face. 💤 Fun Facts
: She snores (adorably), gives the sweetest little “Roo roo!” greeting when she’s excited, and might be the most polite TV-watching couch potato you’ll ever meet. 💖 Ready to Adopt?
If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, and endlessly charming companion, Dolly might just be your perfect match.

Story
Say hello to Franks, a silly, rambunctious, endearing puppy who’s ready to steal your heart the way she steals toys from the toy bin. This pup LOVES toys and it’s so cute to watch her chase down a squeaky toy and carry it around in her mouth. Franks is always ready for fun and brings the good vibes with her wagging tail, bouncing run, and the mischievous twinkle in her eye. She’d love a family that’s able to take her for walks, play with her, and give her fun ways to use her big brain. Franks is a smart girl and would love to be challenged and to keep learning new things! She’ll make sure there’s always happiness in your home and will keep a smile on your face with her fun-loving spirit.
