Story
Meet Ace!   This handsome guy is a 5 year old 60 lb bully mix. True to his name he is an ace at many things including daily walks to keep you in shape. He is such a gentleman he will even retrieve his own harness and leash for his walks! Along with walks, he loves all humans, including kids. He gets so excited when meeting someone new he can’t contain himself, so he’s working on his manners when greeting but it’s all out of love!  He hasn’t been around other dogs for sometime, so we are unsure how he would do living with another canine playmate. We do know however he is not a fan of the feline variety. This boy already has his schooling down   and knows basic commands and is house trained. He neutered and up to date on vaccines and preventatives. Ready to meet this handsome hunk? Apply today! Ace is waiting in Harrisburg, PA and can’t wait to meet you!  New Oxford PA 17350; LIC # 9736 We are PA Caring for K-9's, an all-breed dog rescue that is solely run by volunteers. Most of our dogs are rescued from high kill shelters in the South. If the dog is posted, they are still available! Once arriving, these dogs enter foster homes, as we do not have a shelter. We cannot adopt out dogs to a home with dogs that are not fixed or up to date on shots. If interested in adopting, please submit an application online at www.pack9rescue.org. Our adoption fee for altered dogs is $350 and goes directly to saving the lives of more dogs.  Our adoption fee for unaltered puppies will be $400 which includes a refundable $50 deposit upon receipt of spay/neuter certificate. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.NOTE- BJORN IS LISTED AS A COURTESY FOR AN INDIVIDUAL ASKING TO REHOME THEIR DOG.  PLEASE SEE CONTACT INFO BELOW.Health Condition: Bjorn suffers from food allergies and is highly sensitive to yeast which is having an impact to his overall well-being. Despite efforts such as allergy testing and various food changes, his condition has not improved. The veterinarian recommends specific medication and a raw diet to manage his allergies, but I am unable to afford these treatments due to financial constraints. As a result, Bjorn's quality of life has significantly diminished, and he is currently experiencing discomfort and suffering.   Behavior and Temperament: Bjorn is a friendly, affectionate, and well-behaved dog. He is good with people of all ages, including children. He gets along well with other dogs and cats, displaying no signs of aggression throughout the 5+ years I've owned him. He is house trained and has learned a variety of commands and tricks, showcasing his intelligence and eagerness to please. His favorite activity is playing fetch with his chuck-it ball. Additionally, he is not an excessive barker.Current Vaccination Status: Bjorn is up to date on his rabies vaccine, and he has received the full series of distemper vaccines in the past.Reason for Surrender: I am surrendering Bjorn because of financial difficulties. Due to a significant cut in income, I have been unable to provide the necessary medical care and specialized diet that Bjorn requires to manage his allergies/yeast sensitivity. I am making this difficult decision out of love for Bjorn, not wanting to see him suffer any longer.Ideal Adopter: We are looking for a loving and responsible adopter who can provide the necessary medical care and support for Bjorn's allergies. Experience with allergy management in dogs, especially with a raw diet, would be beneficial. The ideal adopter should have the financial means to cover ongoing high quality fresh foods for him and be committed to maintaining a high quality of life for Bjorn.   Additional Information: Training: Knows commands such as sit, lay down, roll over, high five, stay, jump spin, crawl, and is trained to pee and poo on command. Favorite Activity: Enjoys playing fetch with a chuck-it ball. Personality: Affectionate, friendly, and well-behaved.   Contact Information for Adoption: If you are interested in adopting Bjorn and providing him with the care he needs, please contact me (Daniel) at brown.danielalbert@gmail.com.   Thank you for considering giving Bjorn a loving home and a chance at a better quality of life. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2024, 8:20 pm

Story
Joan of Barc was dumped on the side of the road in Alabama nearly dead. The vet said she was almost bred to death. She had heart-worms and various other injuries, but she's now HW free, spayed, and healthy! Because of her questionable former life she does not do well with cats, and is currently in training and getting better with dogs each time. She doesn’t know how to interact with them and gets over-excited and makes them uncomfortable. She LOVES humans, big and small. She's been around children and is amazing with all ages. Older kids would be better because she is strong and sometimes forgets her strength. She is house trained and crate trained; and along with her training on how to interact with other dogs, she is learning leash walking and other basic commands. She is very food motivated and extremely smart, picking up new training in no time. She also redirects from stressful situations very easily as long as you have a treat. :) She has an average amount of energy but her favorite pastime is chewing on water bottles and watching TV. She is a very gentle soul and the bestest girl. She was abused in her previous life and deserves to live in luxury the for the rest of it. She needs someone looking for a companion, but it doesn't matter what kind - family, adventure, couch potato- she can do it all. She just enjoys life now that it's not at the end of a chain. She's the bestest, sweetest doll baby and all she needs is a chance. Things she excels at: 🐶 Napping 🐶Snuggling 🐶 Helping with household chores 🐶 Zoomies 🐶Snacking Watch our Facebook video here If Joan would be the perfect addition to your family, please apply💜! If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at http://www.dixiegirldogrescue.org/adoption-application PLEASE MAKE NOTE- OUR DOGS ARE FOSTERED IN ALABAMA (UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED), OUR DOGS TRANSPORT NORTH TO THEIR NEW FAMILIES AFTER THEY HAVE BEEN ADOPTED. Our rescue pets are fostered in Southern foster homes (unless otherwise stated) and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Our pets are adoptable in Alabama and New England States. Our adoption fee includes transport fee, spay/neuter, current vaccinations, deworming, heart worm test for animals over 7 months old, all necessary vetting and an interstate health certificate. Once an application is received, our team is happy to answer all of your questions and send additional pictures and videos. Thank you for thinking rescue!

Story
CHARLESTON IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN. CHARLESTON WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE HE IS ADOPTED!    This hunk is Charleston. He is a four year old Bulldog mix. He is the sweetest fun loving goofball. He is a big boy who loves attention. He wants you to pet him, and he wants to lean into you with his whole body. He does not meet a stranger in a person or dog. He loves playing in the backyard with his toys, and then lounging on the porch sunbathing. He gets excited to go anywhere. He will run to the door and wait for you to let him out- then he jumps right in the car. This adorable boy has the most stunning eyes. We believe Charleston has some hearing loss. He seems to hear some pitches, but either doesn’t hear the others or ignores them. He does good walking on a leash, is kennel trained, and house trained. He loves greatly- he will become your shadow. If he wants your attention he will whine/talk to you to let you know. Charleston is a big boy with still a lot of puppy energy so a home with older children would be best. This guy is amazing, and deserves the perfect forever home! He is fully vetted, neutered, and microchipped.  His adoption fee of $500 includes the transport to PA.  We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Charleston up north to his new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at:   newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Charleston  here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 25, 2024, 8:44 pm

Story
**WILLOW IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE ADOPTED** Meet Willow.  This itty-bitty girl might be the runt of the litter, but she has a ginormous personality and isn't afraid to show it off! Weighing in at a whopping 9 lbs @ 10 weeks old, she loves to play with her 85 lb foster brother, yell at her sister Cricket for dirt rolling her, sneak attack june bugs, and take spontaneous naps. She is a serious, SERIOUS cuddle bug and if given the chance, she would sleep on your face! Not even kidding.  Very affectionate, seems to take correction well, and even tempered for her age.  Zoomies - probably the most adorable zoomies I've ever seen in my life. We have not started leash training yet, but plan on doing so within the next couple of weeks.  She is crate trained, sleeps through the night, working on potty training but we still have accidents - she's 10 weeks old, accidents are going to happen.  We were told her litter was American Bulldog, but we honestly have no idea what these little grass goblins are mixed with until they get a little bit bigger. Willow will be ready for adoption on or around May 21st.  At that time, she will be fully vetted, microchipped, and spayed.  Willow's adoption fee of $550.00 includes transportation to PA.   We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Willow to her new family. If you have any questions, please email us at newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com,  and we will answer as soon as we possibly can. **CRICKET IS IN HER FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO PA ONCE ADOPTED** This little girl is EVERYTHING!  Cricket is a 10-week-old, 11 lb., American Bulldog mix who is probably the prettiest lil' thing I've seen in a long time. Cricket is 100% puppy energy who loves stalking & dirt rolling her little sister Willow, playing with her foster sister Lady, beating up random shoes, and corralling her favorite toys into her kennel for safe keeping.  She is very attentive for a puppy and loves when you talk to her, especially if its cuddle time...she will zonk out hard.  If you're looking for a nap buddy or a cuddle queen, Cricket is your gal!
