Animal Information: Molly Moo Cow was a last minute addition to our transport with Taillights Rescue Project. Molly won our hearts with her soft eyes, happy tail, and squishy body. She was confiscated from a property that had several other dogs, but she was hidden away in a back room. Molly passed her dog to dog testing with flying colors, and she loves everyone she meets. Foster Profile: Molly is a lovable goofball who hasn’t met a stranger - human or dog - that she doesn’t like! What she lacks in grace, she makes up for in enthusiasm. She’s quick to ask for pets and doesn’t quite understand that she’s not a 9lb lap dog. In other words, she’s a huge cuddler and wants to be close to her people. Molly LOVES toys and has loved learning tug. We’re currently working on an ’out’ command as we believe this will be helpful for Molly to learn in play. Molly is young and still learning that all found objects are not chew toys, so it’s best not to leave things out on the floor for now. Molly is a quick learner and has picked up on our routine without any issues. She’s crate trained, potty trained and we’re working on leash manners every day on our walks. She likes to follow us around in the house and romp around in the yard but will also happily lay down in one of the dog beds for a nap or to chew on a toy. Molly has been great with our resident dogs. She would love to play with them if they would oblige but gets the hint when they’re not into it and gives them space. Though we believe Molly would love to have another playful dog in her future home, we also think she would do ok as an only dog. Meet Mabel! She is a healthy, loveable, almost 2-year-old American Bulldog mixed breed. She is a courtesy post for House of Hope in Shelton WA. Mabel was fostered as a puppy, along with her mom and 6 other siblings. She was adopted out with her sister, but unfortunately, they developed littermate syndrome and the difficult decision to separate them was made. Mabel has been back at HOH for several months and she has been doing fantastic. She lives with 6 other dogs and has been a model pup. Mabel does sometimes show some signs of nervousness and insecurity around new people, so slow introductions are a must. Mabel has been well cared for and will come with vet records. She is vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. I think Mabel's ideal home would be one without a lot of commotion. A yard that she can play ball in and sunbathe. She is crate trained, house trained and has had some basic obedience classes. She would do best with confident dog friends that she can live with and/or visit with and avoid staying out of chaotic dog parks. I also think that with proper conditioning, Mabel would enjoy hiking, taking long walks, with her human/family. This big girl was found in the middle of nowhere, it took us 5 days to capture her, as she was afraid. Once in our hands, she understood that nothing was wrong and gave us her trust. She is a big goofy girl, she doesn't measure her strength and is great for a very active person who likes to run around and play ball. There's a new star in town, and this one has four legs! Meet Duke, a handsome 10-month-old, 45-pound Bulldog/Staffordshire Terrier mix (our best guess) who is ready to find his forever family. Duke is a happy, playful, people-loving pup who thinks everyone he meets is a potential best friend. He's wonderful with other dogs and loves having a canine buddy to play with. His favorite game? FETCH! He'll happily chase a toy, bring it back, and do it all over again. And if there's water involved? Even better! Animal Profile: Penny is a 2 1/2 year old, 65 lb spayed female English Bulldog mix. She has a tight, clean coat and an adorable under bite. She has guardian-breed tendencies and will need a breed-savvy owner who's able to provide appropriate leadership. She is loyal to her family and loves to snuggle. Her absolute favorite joy in life is Ball! She enjoys playing with other dogs but requires a human who can supervise and advocate for appropriate interactions or she is prone to bullying behavior. She is currently being fostered in a home with two other dogs and is crate-trained, house-trained, and has basic obedience training. She will benefit from structure, leadership, and ongoing training. Once acclimated in a home environment, she loves to snuggle and play and has a goofy, loving personality. Animal History: Penny and her siblings were a surprise litter - their mother was adopted from a local family when she was unknowingly pregnant, so he got much more than he bargained for when she had puppies soon after her adoption. Penny was born on 12/09/22; one of the littermates was DNA tested and so presumably all littermates are 75% English Bulldog, 12.5% German Shepherd, 12.5% Rhodesian Ridgeback. As puppies, these dogs were playful and engaging. Penny was adopted as a puppy to a family who was not prepared for the tendencies of this breed combination. Without any formal training, she developed territorial behaviors in the home and on walks that ultimately led the family to return her to the rescue.
