Meet Hennessy – The Sweetest Second-Chance Pup You'll Ever Meet 🐾 Hennessy is a 1.5-year-old, 50-pound lovebug who was saved just two hours before being euthanized for space — and he’s been making the most of his second chance ever since. He’s the kind of dog who will greet you at the door with a wagging tail, even if you're late. He’s house trained, walks wonderfully on a leash, and makes a great hiking pawtner. He also does well with other dogs and loves soaking up attention. Bonus? He’ll even drink from a water bottle if you offer it — because, you know, he’s got style. Hennessy hasn't met any cats yet, but with his friendly, easygoing nature, he just might do well with a slow intro. Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is an estimated 6-year-old 70 lb male Boxer mix who is social and friendly with people and dogs. He was surrendered to the rescue when his owner passed away and the family worked to find safe placement for him and another dog in the home. Shelters were full. A neighbor was feeding the dogs who were left for weeks with access to a yard thru a dog door. Buddy is grateful to be in foster care now, and has had a recent vet exam. He is in good health and finally neutered. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care. Foster Updates:  Buddy is a lovable, calm, low maintenance guy! When he arrived, he was a little chunky and not too active. We're a relatively active family and he's come to love our daily 2-mile walks. He really gets excited to go outside!  He's also starting to run around the backyard a little more now that he's slimmed down a little bit. That said, he's pretty chill and loves to cuddle. He's a solid 70lbs but thinks he's a lap dog. We’d recommend a family with mid-level activity. He's good on short hikes, daily walks, and moderate exercise, but we don't think he'd be a good running partner for hard-core athletes. Buddy is house and crate trained. He's content to stay in one place, especially if he has an open window. We think Buddy would be a good fit in a house with a yard or even a condo. He just needs a walk and some love & attention. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, microchip with lifetime registration and a recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Animal History: Buddy was picked up as a stray about 4 years ago in eastern WA and lived in a home until recently when his owner passed away. It took about six weeks for the the family to find rescue placement. Buddy is now in foster care in North Bend, and available for adoption in the greater Seattle area. June 16, 2025, 5:02 pm

Story
Say hello to Jessie — the sweetest snugglebug you’ll ever meet!At 2 years old and 50 lbs, Jessie is the perfect size for both couch cuddles and fun outdoor adventures. This adorable Boxer mix has the best manners — she’s fully house and crate trained, walks like a dream on leash, and knows how to respect your space (no jumping, no barreling into you like a freight train). But don’t let her polite behavior fool you — Jessie’s heart is full of love and her tail never stops wagging. She’s fantastic with kids, great with other dogs, and even friendly with cats. Whether your home is calm and quiet or full of activity, Jessie is ready to fit right in.Her absolute favorite thing? Snuggling up with her people. Jessie’s the kind of pup who will curl up beside you for a movie marathon, lay her head in your lap when you’ve had a tough day, and happily follow you from room to room just to be near you.If you’ve been searching for a gentle-hearted, family-friendly, cuddle-loving pup to complete your pack, Jessie is ready to be your new best friend!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.May 25, 2025, 5:02 am

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED! Cody is a 5 - 6 year old Boxer mix who is looking for a loving, active and structured forever home! He is sweet but had a rough beginning so will need a rescue experienced home that will help him build trust, learn basic obedience and gain confidence. He will bond to his people and loves attention and affection. He loves treats and is glad to work for them! He has not had a lot of training so will need support with continued basic obedience. He is looking for a home that is adult only or with kids over the age of 16. He will thrive in a home where he can be active, he loves to run around, go for walks, and would make an excellent outdoor activity partner. Cody can do well with other dogs but it is always best to do proper introductions to make sure it is a good match and that all parties 'mesh'. Cody would do best in a home with a large fenced yard where he can run, roam and play. Cody is UTD on shots, has had a dental, is microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet the super sweet girl, Nova! She is a 1-year-old, 39 LB Boxer who came to us as an owner surrender after her owner could no longer care for her. Nova is loving, charming, and very sweet with her people. She is treat motivated which is great for training, and can focus when you need her to! Nova would love a forever home that will take her on daily walks and adventures as she loves to explore and be with her person. Nova came to us very underweight, so we are working on bringing her up to a healthier size and are looking for an adopter that can help continue her journey of getting back to health. She can be an absolute goofball and fun to watch, so there will never be a dull moment with her! She has also done well with other dogs in our care and wouldn’t mind having another canine companion in the home, or she could be fine as an only dog if she had continued socialization. Nova is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed. Her adoption fee is $500.

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Doug! He is a 1-year-old, 42 LB Boxer mix who came to us from an overcrowded shelter in CA and is looking for his forever home! Doug came to us very shut down, but has opened up into being a spunky, happy, and playful pup! He is very fun and has a good amount of energy to him, so he would do best in an active home that will take him on plenty of adventures and daily walks/runs. Doug has done well with other dogs in our care and would love to have another playful, canine companion in his forever home to show him the ropes and be his playmate. He could also be fine as an only dog if he had continued socialization and doggy play dates. Doug is still learning basic obedience and can be quite bouncy when he is excited, so we recommend no young children under eight years old or very dog-savvy children that don’t mind high energy big dogs. He will thrive in a home that will dedicate time to his daily exercise and continuing his basic obedience training. He is eager to learn however, and very treat motivated! Doug is ready to be someone’s new adventure buddy! He is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Looking for our Boxer lovers!! Meet this handsome boy, Stallone! He is a two-year-old, 67 LB purebred Boxer who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA hoping to find his forever home here in WA! Stallone is a SUPER sweet boy and came to us very underweight, but has made so much progress in getting back to a healthy size. He is very active, athletic, loving, and has been very gentle with the kennel staff. He is still gaining his confidence as there has been a lot of change in his life, but he has been doing well at handling it! Stallone has also done well with other dogs in our care and would be a great additional dog in a home. He would also do fine as an only dog if he had continued socialization. This boy is very strong and will require an adopter that is able to handle his strength and activity level as he is very fast! Stallone has so much love to give and hopes to find his Boxer loving forever home or a foster soon! Stallone is UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Hi please meet Petunia! She's the sweetest puppy, approximately 5 months and 28 lbs. Petunia was found on the highway, dodging cars! Story
Animal Profile: Mr. Dinkles is approximately 10 month old 42 lb neutered male lab pit mix joining us from Stanislaus Modesto where he was euth listed for space. Mr. Dinkles was a stray intake to the shelter in April at just 25 lbs and has been growing up in the shelter, where volunteers describe him as sweet and docile. Dinkles is treat motivated and loves squeaky toys. He is social and friendly with male and female dogs.  Foster Update:  Mr. Dinkles (or Henry) is a really special boy. He is low-key, eager to please and loves to be around people. He is still pretty young so he’s got some learning left to do, and new things can be a bit scary sometimes but he is figuring it out and his confidence is growing. He is figuring out how to play with toys and is an even balance of playful and chill. He’s quickly picking up commands and does great in his crate all night. This easy breezy boy will be a great bff or fit in well with a family eager to include him in all their adventures. We will continue to post more as we get to know him more.  Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus Modesto in California, arrived to foster care in Seattle on 6/11 via START Rescue Transport. June 19, 2025, 12:31 am
