She is a little survivor of 12, her mom was abandoned and at one day old, Abby and her 11 siblings were left in a box in the middle of nowhere with no shade. When we came for them after receiving a report from a neighbor of the owner, there were only 5 babies left alive, and we found the rest already dead inside a plastic bag with a knot in it. Abby grew up happy with her litter, they are very active and loving little ones. She is learning to walk on her leash, lives well with dogs and cats and is the most chubby of her litter. She is the smiliest and is very intelligent. It would be ideal for her to grow up in a home with children, she likes walks and although she is a little shy at first, she usually comes out of her shell quickly. She was originally adopted as a puppy from  Stanislaus Animal Services Agency , later given away, and eventually surrendered by the family who took her in. By the time she arrived back at the shelter, Hazel was overwhelmed and shut down, unsure of what to expect next. With patience and consistency, her true personality began to shine. Hazel has become a staff favorite, known for her gentle nature and steady temperament. She has a natural ability to put other dogs at ease and now serves as the shelter’s go-to dog tester. Hazel does well with dogs of all ages and sizes, reading social cues appropriately and adjusting her play style to match her companion. After more than six weeks in the shelter, Hazel was at risk simply due to her length of stay. Thanks to glowing staff notes and some heart-melting videos, she earned her freedom ride to the Pacific Northwest for a fresh start. We can't wait to meet her! Foster Profile: All we can do is gush about this goofy girl. Hazel is doing exceptionally well in foster care. She adores her foster brofur and sister, and has been an excellent house guest.
