Story

I have had my boy Leon for 4.5 yrs. Got him when he was about 6 months old. He will be 5 this April. Currently he does have some skin issues, not sure exactly what but right now he is missing some fur and I think has some sort of ear mites. Along with some rashes. I have done my best to treat them but at the moment not much seems to be helping him. And right now I am unable to take him to the vet. He does have pretty bad anxiety and can get reactive when at the vets. Not sure if anything ever happened when I wasn't present, but he has a difficult time. He had parvo as a puppy and due to this he has a more sensitive tummy. And will not put any more weight than approx 50 lbs. He is an extremely good road trip dog. Loves walks but could use some more training. He is fine with most dogs. Does not do well with cats or horses. He has been having some reactive issues with people and will need a patient person to help him with this. I am not in a place to give him the care he needs right now.

Lou is a sweet boy. Likes cuddles on the couch and walks. He is a good guard dog. Little wary around men at first but settles with some reassurance. Loves children and is very tolerant. He comes with a crate, harness and leash. He is fostered with Tika. We are open to adopters willing to adopt one or both dogs. Lou’s rabies has recently expired. They need a yard with a tall fence or long tie downs. We only took these dogs on to foster them. Since their owners were facing eviction from affordable housing and didn’t have the time to find them a new home. They aren’t our preferred breed and we have some travel plans coming up that would make it hard and expensive to keep these two. Please reach out if you have any questions. We are in Billings, MT. And are willing to travel to neighboring states to transport the dogs and meet potential adopters.

Chunk is a 60 lbs, 5 year old bully mix that joined MHCR in September of 2024. He’s short in stature, big in personality, and commits to his humans for life. Chunk made a canine buddy while in foster care and they spent over a year together before she was recently adopted. Now he is alone. Chunk LOVED playing with her. Their acclimation was slow and steady overtime, though. That’s the way Chunk likes it. He isn’t a kiss on the first date kind of guy; more like the 100th. As such, he’s looking for a cat and canine free home with hermit-ish humans. Walks make him act a fool, car rides aren’t his jam; he wants homebody humans looking for a loyal, silly, companion. Oh! They must also have a crate for him, it’s his safe space. Chunk is a very sweet, loving, extroverted boy with people, and especially when snacks are involved. He’s very chill, low maintenance, and quiet when he settles into a place and understands there are no ongoing threats lurking about. He likes limited play time but mostly is low energy and likes multiple daily naps, snuggles, and sunbathing. He sleeps through the night and is crate and housetrained. He likes baths and is a gentleman in the tub. He lets his little human foster sisters dress him up. He has not been aggressive with people in any manner, even for veterinary visits and ‘scary’ 🙄 nail trims. He’s physically healthy and Iikes to keep his teeth clean with dental chews and sticks.
