Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs special attention, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
He’s a goofy, lovable 60-pound ham who charges into every day with confidence, charm, and just the right amount of chaos. He may be blind, but you’d never know it. Balin is looking for a home without small dogs or cats—he’s got a BIG personality and sometimes forgets just how big he is. He might be able to live with another dog, but it would need to be a calm, very patient buddy who can handle his enthusiastic greetings. Slow, structured introductions are a must.

Story
- A silly dog who will keep you laughing, whether she's rolling around, making goofy faces, or flopping around getting the zoomies when she's excited - Favorite things are playing with stuffies, getting love from her humans and going for walks - Has been very friendly with strangers and loves to make new friends - this cuddler has so much love to give! - Very smart, does great on a leash, and would be fun to train - Would likely do well in either a house or apartment - she doesn't need much as long as she's getting attention and some potty breaks each day - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her, so she may do best in a more mature home - Can be socially awkward and take some time to warm up to new dogs; may also prefer some dogs over others and would be most comfortable with a slow introduction to new dogs (dog intro required) - We don't know her history with cats This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. If you're interested in fostering to adopt, please reach out to meetme@arl-iowa.org.All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Black Weight: 63 Age: 2yrs 5mths 3wks

- Friendly guy who loves people and will approach with kindness and tail wags - Loves chasing squeaky toys and will pick them up and parade around with them, happily showing them off - Walks nicely on a leash and would be an excellent walking buddy - Knows sit and stay, takes treats nicely, and is great at trading his toys for treats- Can be socially awkward and uncomfortable around other dogs and will do best with slow introductions to new dogs (dog intro required)- We don't know his history with kids or cats - May have allergies (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program. She's playful, loves toys, and a good game of fetch, but she's just as happy lounging and soaking up attention." - Foster family says she has done great when left home alone; does not seem to enjoy her kennel and may try to get out - Has been working on potty training in her foster home, but will need some help from her new family to get to 100% - Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for her, but has done great with a slightly older child in her foster home - Tends to be socially awkward with other dogs and would do best as the only dog in her new home- Has been diagnosed with medial patellar luxation of the left knee (more info at ARL) This pet qualifies for our 7-day Foster-to-Adopt program.
