Story
Meet Sandie! This cheerful pup loves playing and snuggling about equally. She loves to spend time with her family, play fetch, go for walks or hikes, and cuddle with you on the couch. Her current owner says, "Sandie truly is a sweetheart who is a big baby. Just wants to be loved, allowed to go out and play and snuggle with mom or dad." Though Sandie will let you know when someone is at the door with a few alert barks, she generally does not bark much. She is smart and trainable and thrives on attention, play, and structure. Sandie could use some work on her leash walking and greeting new people -- she is just so filled with joy and exuberance! -- but she is a quick learner with consistency. She has learned "place" very well so is able to go to her place when visitors arrive -- a great skill to have! When our volunteer met Sandie, she was immediately friendly and ready for petting and attention. :-) Sandie has spent time with a 3- to 4-year-old child and appeared comfortable, calm, and playful. She has not lived with other pets but she has spent time, as a visitor, with cats and was gentle and friendly. She also had an opportunity to play off leash with another dog recently and was friendly, silly, and socially appropriate in this situation. When on a walk or outing, Sandie does find other dogs and people exciting but is not reactive. When other dogs lunge and bark at her, she does her best to avoid them rather than engaging. Sandie is almost 3 years old and weighs about 50 lbs. She is spayed and up to date on vaccinations and has been well taken care of with no known health issues other than possible mild skin allergies. This sweet girl is losing her home because of her current owner's health and financial situation. Sandie's human "mom" is heartbroken over the thought of losing her sweet pup but is in an incredibly difficult situation. We (FFOCAS) are helping her safely rehome Sandie. Interested? Please get in touch via email (ffocas4pets@gmail.com). We'll ask you to fill out a rehoming application to keep this process as safe as possible for all involved -- especially Sandie!

Story
She is the first dog to come into the family. Arriving from Arkansas to Maryland at 3 months old. Born Jan 15, 2023. She quickly adapted to the home, was house broken and did very well in the home during her first few months. She has been through training for basic obedience and so I could learn how to be a dog mom. She loves the outdoors, playing/fetching with her ball outside, children and cuddling. I was told initially she was a beagle which clearly was not the case, so I did DNA testing. She is mixed with what I think is a great set of genes. Very loving to me and the family when they visit. Sadly, my hip arthritis has starting to become more painful which has been a challenge to care for my Sandie. I would love for her to be joined with loving family with children and a backyard she can run around and play in. Per Wisdom Panel her DNA is: 42% American Pit Bull Terrier 19% Australian Cattle Dog 17% American Staffordshire Terrier 5% Labrador Retriever 5% Beagle

Story
Hi! I'm Mabel (sometimes my foster mom calls me Mabelina). I'm 3 years old and an 80 pound gentle soul with a sweet personality. I'm housebroken, crate trained, and know all the basics: sit, stay, come, and crate. At home I go right into my crate without a fuss, though in a brand new place I might whine for a few minutes while I settle in. I'm fantastic on leash and love to stop for the occasional sniff. I'm good with other dogs, not reactive, and if I get curious on a walk, I'm easily redirected. My favorite things? Gathering my toys into one area, chewing on my chew toys, or gnawing my Kong stuffed with peanut butter.... Yummmm! Add napping throughout the day to the list! Oh and most of all, being near my human.  I'm a low to moderate energy type of girl who's just looking for love, loyalty, and a forever spot by your side. If you're looking for  a sweet companion who will make your home feel cozy and loved, I'd be honored to be your girl. -Mabel

Story
Don’t let the dapper look fool you—Dillard is as goofy and lovable as they come! This 3-year-old terrier mix is the total package: dog-friendly, cat-friendly, and people-obsessed. With his soulful eyes and permanently curious expression, Dillard wins hearts wherever he goes. He’s an absolute dream on leash, making walks a breeze, and he’s well-mannered around the house—unless, of course, you leave an unattended snack within reach (he considers that fair game!).  Dillard is looking for a family who will shower him with love, belly rubs, and maybe a few extra treats. If you’re ready for a sweet, silly, and strikingly handsome companion, Dillard is your guy! Ready to meet him? Apply today and let Dillard add a little bowtie-worthy charm to your life.
