Brutus has had a very hard first half of his life.  Now that's he's with Ruff Start Rescue, we know it'll be all uphill from here!  Brutus was found starving, covered in new and old wounds, cold, blind and living in a pile of leaves trying to stay warm.     Since coming into rescue, Brutus has been enjoying the finer things in life such as, dogs beds, fuzzy blankets, toys, treats, belly rubs, and snuggle time!  This guy has so much love to give and he loves everyone he meets!   Brutus is mostly blind but that doesn't stop him.  He's learned to use the stairs and where all the walls and hallways are in just a week!  He's great in his crate and is also potty trained.   Because Brutus is mostly blind, he needs to be an only dog in the home or with a dog that is very tolerant of other dogs running into them, stepping on their feet, and sharing toys.     Brutus will need to be on a refeeding plan for a while as he gains weight.  He eats several time a day and shouldn't have additional snacks and treats until he's gained more weight.   This guy is an absolute gem!   Brutus is able exclusively through Ruff Start’s Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program.   Click here   to learn more about the FTA program. Meet Miss Faith! She is a rambunctious, smart, sweet puppy. We estimate her to be almost 2 years old. She came to us from a severe neglect case, and was extremely skinny and unsocialized. She has come a long way since she was rescued, but still has a lot of learning to do. She loves her people once she trusts them, but has some insecurities, so slow introductions with people are key. She loves to snuggle, give kisses, and spend time chilling on the couch. She also loves to fetch and go for walks. Essentially, she is a puppy in a 2 year old body, that loves to love but has a lot of world to discover!! By the way she LOVES men, so if you are a guy looking for a new furry companion, she is your girls!!!Faith is curently in a board and train facility in LaCrosse WI (this is where her meet and greet will occur), where they are teaching her to trust new people. She does great with men and will give you a longing look until you decide to come over and say hi. She is slower to meet women, but if you avoid initial eye contact at first, and use her name with treats, she adjusts quickly. She has learned that fellow furry friends are a great thing and LOVES to play! She needs a low energy, confident dog as dogs with aniexty only feed hers. Additionally, we would also recommend a home without young children. She is so powerful, that littles may get knocked over during play time. We think with more training and discipline, she could settle into a home with older kids, but now she just has too much enery behind her love. Ideally, we are looking for a patient, disciplined adopter that can help Faith learn and grow the proper way to associate with her humans and canine friends. We know she can be a champion for her breed, and we want a family that will help her do that. She is a determined, smart, goofy girl that needs boundaries and rules to learn how life works and teach her the tools to be successful! Please at least consider a meeting to see if she is a good fit for you. We think she is truly a diamond in the rough, that deserves to have a loving family! Meet Kobe! He was rescued from the side of the road by his foster, and he is just the sweetest boy! His foster family has been caring for him for about a year, but never intended to keep him forever. They have 5 kids ranging from 6 months old to 12 years old and they play with him and lay with him and he is always sweet and gentle with them. He’s never shown aggression to anyone at all. He’s crate trained and house trained, but he will dig under the fence if he doesn’t get enough exercise. He would thrive with more exercise, training and mental stimulation. He’s a very smart dog, but also quite strong so would do well with obedience training. Hi, I’m Winifred!I’m a rambunctious American pitbull mix about 3 years old and weigh about 50 pounds. I’m currently living with my foster parents and their 4 dogs, getting an opportunity to learn all kinds of new tricks and how to be polite in the house and on the leash.
