Hi! My name is Lola. I am a super sweet, and smart girl who loves to love. I am a happy pup who didn't have a great life before I got to rescue which ultimately could have been the end for me, but I had angels looking out for me and well, here I am. When I was impounded it was loud and so scary. I was so stressed and honestly terrified. So stressed I started to loose weight, and was not my best self. One day, a nice lady came and said she was there to rescue me. I was unsure at first but she started giving me treats and when we went outside, I realized not only was she super nice, but she was getting me out of there. Even out of the shelter I continued to rapidly loose weight even though my foster dad was happy to feed me as much as I wanted. We went to the doctor and I heard them say I have EPI. I am not really sure all the technical stuff but basically I got so stressed in the shelter I likely developed this condition and I have to take meds and supplements for it. The stuff I have to take is not a big deal for me at all. In fact, I am very used to it, but anyone wanting to adopt me should know about it. It took over a week for her to figure out what a toy was and now she loves to play. Emmy loves going for walks but does pull on the leash a bit. She will go in the crate but would rather stay on the dog bed. We have left her out for a couple hours and no damage was done. I want to be your new best friend! I love being close to you and getting all the lovins! Along with being extremely sweet, I am also very playful! I love to play tug with toys and chase tennis balls around. I would be super happy with a fenced in yard to run around in, but my foster mom doesn’t have one and she takes me for lots of walks. I wasn’t good at walks at first, but I’m getting a lot better! I am strong and I like to pull my foster mom around sometimes, but I usually do a pretty good job! I have a hard time with doggy intros, but with the right doggy friend I think I could get used to it! You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. I am a petite gal weighing in at 43 pounds; my fosters think I could put on a few pounds. Maybe I’ll stay petite because of all the energy that I have; I would love a big yard to get my zoom-zooms out. I am very friendly and curious, so maybe a fenced in yard to keep me close by would be best. One of the things that I like to do at my foster home is run and slide on the floor, so older kids are probably a better fit. We are working on slow intros and I have just met one of the other dogs here through his kennel. I wanted him to come out and play. I did well meeting other dogs in the yard at PUPS; I was very curious and sniffed and my tail wagged back and forth. I am walked outside, for now, and working on leash manners. I love to smell things or just hop around. I had a bath here and I did very well; my fur is like velvet. I do well in the car when I'm in the kennel. Speaking of my kennel; I sleep in my kennel and go in there when my humans are gone.  I voice my opinion about this for a few minutes when I first go in there, but I do settle down. I think I would rather sleep with my people. I love my people so much!!! I am always up for belly rubs. I like to cuddle near my people; the closer to you the better. I am very smart and I like to take "shortcuts”; I don't go around the coffee table, the quickest route is to go over the coffee table. I do what my fosters call "No nibbling," but I am just trying to give kisses....gently.  My fosters and vet team are wondering about my hearing...how much do I hear, am I just tuning out but can hear?? I do know "sit", but my fosters wonder if it's just natural reaction? Either way, I would love to have a home that can handle my energy and nibbly kisses.  Could that be you? Lady is a such a love bug and always wants to be with her people whether that is cuddling in bed, watching TV or playing around outside … She just wants to be with her people. She is quite content hanging by herself and playing with her toys when people are at work and will run up to greet you when you get home. She’s a happy dog who loves to get zoomies and run around to show you how excited she is. Whenever you mention a walk or going outside, she will spin in circles while trying to get to the door. She is good with other dogs but prefers dogs of her own breed who play like her. She is very food motivated so training is a breeze. After lady plays for a bit she loves to just chill on the couch and watch some TV and she loves when she hears Netflix start up.
