Hello! My name is Cyrus. I am a handsome boy with a huge heart. My ideal home is a place where I am the only pet. I am a dog that loves my humans, and loves to have a routine. I also love going for car rides, playing ball, and lounging having some snuggle time. I am an avid movie buff and love a nice night in watching Netflix with a cozy blanket. I can be the biggest love bug you will ever meet, so despite the fact I don't care for other animal companions I think I am a pretty good catch. Did I mention I am super handsome? Well, at least that's what all these people keep saying. I tend to agree. If you think you might be the one I have been waiting for, fill out an adoption application. You will not regret it! I promise to win you over in no time. *Cyrus would do best with a calm and confident leader* Date of Birth: (estimated) 8/24/14 Good with Dogs: No Good with Cats: No Good with Kids: Older respectful children House Trained: Yes Weight: 66 Requires a Fence: Yes Adoption Fee: $250 (plus sales tax) Submit an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEHR/Dog

Story
Hi! My name is Beatrice. I am a tiny little character. I really really love when my humans are home with me as much as possible. Being alone is no fun. I get lonely. If you do leave me alone I need a strong crate that I can't break out of. I have lots of energy and I love to go for walks and just enjoying the sunshine. I do well on a leash. I sometimes like to spend my afternoons catching some rays. The humans say I often look like I am contemplating life. I am really just dreaming of my new home. I get along with most dogs but I tend to play rough so if I live with a dog friend they would need to be very tolerant or at least be able to keep up with me. No little dogs. Which reminds me, absolutely no cats either. I have a pretty intense prey drive. Yea I know I have some issues, who doesn't? On the plus side I am actually really sweet. I love to just be with you and I will even give you kisses when you are sad. Hi! My name is Punkin. I am a super sweet girl once I get to know you. I love giving kisses, watching movies together, and getting yummy treats. The ideal home for me is somewhere I can be an only pet. I don't really like other animals at all. I also like to eat things I am not supposed to like dog toys so a house without kiddos that have stuff for me to chew up is best even though I love kids it's to risky for my health. I currently live a sanctuary but if the ideal home came along that would be amazing! Submit an application at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEHR/Dog Adoption Fee $250

Story
Meet Ms. Nona! Pretty name for a pretty girl. Nona is crate trained, even if she decides to mildly protest going in. It's really only because she truly just wants to be with her people. Nona would make a great hiking or walking partner to burn off her energy. A fenced in yard is ideal for her. She would just love it! Nona loves to play outside and with toys... but plan on getting tough toys if you expect them to last long! She loves attention and snuggles, and to just be with her people. She makes a great Netflix marathon companion. Nona has mixed feelings about other animals and honestly needs to be the only pet. Since she hasn't been around children much, her fosters feel that she would be best with older considerate children. Overall, Nona loves and needs structure in her life. She needs a strong leader so she doesn't have to feel like the pressure is on her and she can sit back and relax. She is smart, inquisitive and enjoys learning. Overall, she is an amazing dog that is on the search for her right Fur-Ever Home... could that be you? https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEHR/Dog Adoption Fee: $250

Story
Well hello there! I'm Beefcake, my foster family calls me Beefy! I'm a hunky boy who really would be best as an only pet. I'm smaller than I look, just 52 pounds of adorable! I am a good boy and a quick learner. I thrive with a strong leader who makes me mind my new manners I have learned. I have come a long way in rescue and I am excited to start my new life and show you how awesome I am! I really love to have my humans around. When people are gone for really long work days it makes me sad, but I do love Dog TV to keep me entertained. My favorite thing to do is snuggle up with my humans, the closer, the better! Looking for a movie watching buddy? That's me! Breakfast and dinner are my favorite times of the day and I will sit to wait for my food and then I'll make sure my bowl is clean for next time. I've been known to eat my toys so my humans watch me while I enjoy them. I'm a big boy with lots of love to give and I'm hopeful I can find my fur-ever soon! *My adoption does come with a training package to set me up for success so my adopters have to be committed to learning how to work with me as a team* https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FEHR/Dog Adoption Fee $250

Story
Hi, my name is Pop Rocks! I love playing outside, going for walks, and nothing beats chewing on a good bone! I would prefer that I have a playmate, but if you are active enough I would be just as happy. I do like a good chase of squirrels and other small critters, so my new home shouldn't have any cats. I would prefer to be an only pet so all your attention can be on me! When I first came to FEHR, I did not like my crate, but with patience and understanding my foster family was able to help me adjust and I now will go in and nap all by myself. I would still prefer to have a best friend that doesn't leave the house much though. I am a goof ball, good boy, and I hope to find my Fur-Ever Home. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Are you looking for “THAT” dog? A dog with personality who will bring tons of love, fun, and adventure into your life. A dog that loves learning and wants to please and engage with you. A dog that will be a true companion. If you are looking for that dog, take a look at Finnegan!  Finnegan is waiting to find his partner(s) and is excited to go out and enjoy life with them! Finnegan is the definition of happy and eager! He also has a very sweet side and adores people and attention. One of Finnegan’s best qualities is he is happy to do just about anything! Go for a walk, work on training, go for a car ride, go in his kennel, search the yard for treats, go to class, get in the tub, go to a new place, meet new people, get his nails cut, get belly rubs, go swimming, sleep on the couch, sit at your feet, help you with laundry and dishes - you name it, Finnegan is up for it! If you have, or may have, interest in dog sports Finnegan would be a great partner (traits to love: loves to work, great drive, good focus, wants to please, very toy/food motivated, crate trained, travels well, unfazed by anything, eager, brave, great with people). Finnegan came into rescue with some good skills, and in his foster home he is learning more and more. This is a dog who really engages and focuses during training, and he knows how to learn. Finnegan has command of all the basic obedience skills and is currently in a Level 3 advanced Obedience training class. He could easily compete in the lowest levels of Rally and Obedience competitions and would quickly advance with someone interested and enthusiastic to go forward with him! He has also shown some talent for Nosework! If dog sports aren’t your thing Finnegan is a great dog for just enjoying life with as well! If you want to go for fun walks, or go on hikes or urban adventures, with snuggles on the couch at the end of the day, he is there for it! Finnegan is not super high energy, he has plenty to go do whatever you want, but he also has an off-switch and excels at hanging out quietly at home. He enjoys a yard to root around in, but loves walks even more, so a yard is not necessary. Finnegan loves to play but he can get overstimulated, so his play, especially with toys, needs to be managed to keep him from getting over-excited. Due to this enthusiasm and excitement about “fun time” Finnegan is only adoptable to a home with no or older dog-savvy children. Finnegan does love kids though, and when he meets them in a calm manner he is very good with them! Finnegan’s history is not known because he was found abandoned, but he seems to have missed out on learning many dog social skills, so dogs do not usually appreciate his over-enthusiastic approaches. Due to this he does best just being around strange dogs calmly without interacting. In his foster home Finnegan resides with 3 other dogs and has done well with them in separate but adjoining quarters, and he enjoys his time with them on pack walks! Finnegan would likely do best as an only dog but would love to have a friend if the other dog were extremely tolerant. Finnegan has seen and not been reactive to cats, but a proper cat trial would need to be done before going to a home with a cat. Finnegan is a great dog who has a ton of fantastic qualities! He does need a home with dog experience that is willing to continue to teach him and help him manage his excitement. In return you will gain a true Good Boy, a fabulous companion, a dog with a happy, loving, and sweet personality who will bring you years of joy! Finnegan looks forward to meeting you and showing you just how wonderful he is! Finnegan is from a local shelter . Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is a part of our “Seniors for Seniors” program where we offer senior adopters an opportunity to adopt an eligible pet at a discounted fee.* My name is Jazzy and I’m a petite pittie. I came to my foster home at the end of March. I love my people and like to cuddle on the comfy couch. I also love, love squeaky toys!!! The more toys the better.  I sleep on a raised dog bed in my room. I have not had one accident since I've been here. I walk pretty good on my leash, but sometimes I just have to find the smells with my nose or find someone to give me scratches. We do have other dogs where I am at now and the little bit of interaction has been good, but my fosters aren't sure how I would react if another pup would take my toy or food from me. We do not have cats here, so that is also an unknown.   If you need a protector from sun reflections off items, I am the best guard dog for that. I am an older gal, but love has no age limit!   When Jazzy arrived at Ruff Start it was noticed she had a couple mammary masses. These were removed and sent for testing where they came back as cancerous masses. The masses were completely removed with clear margins and there is no sign of local spread at this time. Jazzy will need to be monitored by your veterinarian for any new masses that may appear but no other treatment is needed at this time.    Jazzy is from a local impound.  If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi, I’m Bobbi!  Thanks for stopping by to meet me-I hope I get to meet you in person soon! A little about me, I really love sprinklers! When we go outside, I check to see if the sprinkler is on and if it isn’t, I run over to the spigot to help foster dad turn it on! He says it’s incredibly cute and happily turns in on.  Yay! Oh a nd I love treats! I will do almost anything if you give me a treat!  I also like going on walks and meeting new friends!  I like practicing my skills and learning new things with my foster family! I really like to curl up next to my foster dad and snuggle!  Sometimes I keep one eye open just so I can make sure I don't miss anything that's going on!  I'd much rather sleep there than in my kennel but my foster family asks me to sleep in it each night and I oblige without a fuss. I’m potty trained and will sit in front of the door when I need to go out too.  I'm a good girl I promise! I’d love to find a family of my own and have a doggy brother or sister to play with. I want to show you all my fun qualities and keep learning new tricks with my forever family! Could it be you?!? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Once upon a time, in a kingdom not so far away, there was a dog named Charming: ME!  Now, I know what you’re thinking. With a name like Charming, everyone expected me to become the prince and rule the land with grace and elegance, kiss sleeping princesses without their consent, blah blah blah. Booooring. Settle in, folks, and let me tell you the REAL story of how a guy like me ended up in a place like this. From early puphood, my twin brother Scrappy and I knew our destinies — I, Charming, was to become prince, obviously. And Scrappy, well, he was to become the court jester. Our dad, King Charming The Great, sent Scrappy away to silly school, while I was educated at the finest obedience academies that treatos could buy.  But fate had other plans for us. Scrappy was bored to tears in silly school, dreaming of more dignified things like crumpets and croquet. Meanwhile, my report cards from the academy kept saying things like “he’s a good boy, but refuses to stop chasing his tail” and “farts loudly in etiquette class” and “please tell your son to stop exploding our regal stuffy toys, they are for decoration ONLY and NOT to be played with”. Long story short, and fast forward a couple years… my goody-four-paws brother ended up becoming the prince instead. (No hard feelings, I really didn’t want that gig anyway tbh) And I was free to pursue my true calling as the court jester, spreading laughter, joy, and farts throughout the kingdom. Ha Ha! I am the kind of guy who really loves his humans, and will follow them from room to room, tail a-waggin’,  just to make sure I’m not missing out on anything fun! Also, if I happen to fart, I want to make sure I do it as close to you as possible, since if I know anything about humans, it’s that they LOVE farts (LOL)!!  Sometimes I get a little nervous meeting new people, but I warm up quickly, especially when there are treatos involved.   I know lots of tricks (sit, down, crawl, stay, and wait) and I’m learning more every day! Since I did get kicked out of royal obedience academy for being a “class clown,” I would love to continue my education with my new family! My foster mom does something she calls “channeling our inner Zen” when we go for walks (which we do a lot!). You see, I walk really nice on leash when I’m calm. But I can get pretty amped up when I see certain things on walks, like bunnies or squirrels, or small dogs that could be squirrels, or Teslas, or suspicious sewer grates. Sometimes I just can’t help myself and I HAVE to investigate! She makes me do a sit when I start pulling too hard or getting rowdy, and that helps me keep calm and carry on. I don’t like to talk about it, but I have some trauma in my past from being picked on by other dogs. It doesn’t mean I can’t live with them and be friends — I currently live in a foster home with another dog, and we get along fine separated by just a baby gate! And I have played with other dogs my size and done OK. I just need very slow intros to other dogs, to make sure that I don’t get scared or overzealous. My foster mom can give you tons more information about slow intros if you have other dogs. I’d also really love to be an only dog - nothing better than getting all the love and attention of my peoples without having to share! Check out the video links below just in case you still don’t believe that I’m a royal catch. Watch this video to see what a smart, well behaved gentleman I am! Click here to watch a video of me playing!    And  Charming gets the zoomies.    Are you ready to welcome a sweet silly jester into your life? Fill out an application for me and let the fun begin! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hello, I'm Champagne, a petite pit bull with an abundance of wiggles. My wiggles help me maintain a girlish figure, and I absolutely adore people! If you ever feel lonely, I'll happily crawl all over you and invade your personal space. I enjoy taking walks around the yard and I'm fairly well-behaved on a leash. I'm currently working on my potty training skills. While I generally go outside, I have had a few accidents in my home. These incidents occurred when I had access to my water bowl during the night. I've had the chance to meet an older male dog at my new home. Initially, I tried to get a little too close or sit on him, which startled him and led to some barking. I quickly realized my mistake and moved away. I am aware that there are other dogs in the household, and we are gradually working on introducing ourselves properly. However, there are no cats in our home. I love to play and sometimes nibble, but I never intend to cause harm with my teeth. When it comes to children, I must mention that my wiggly nature and high energy levels might result in unintentional bumps or knocking someone over. You might notice some scars on me, remnants from my previous home. I can't tell you exactly what happened, but those scars serve as a testament to what I have overcome and how resilient I am. I take my role as a protector of the home quite seriously. I will bark if I hear any unfamiliar noises or if other dogs start barking. Additionally, I'm not shy about expressing myself through grunts and snores. Overall, my energy level is moderate. In terms of grooming, I require minimal maintenance. I was particularly curious about Teddy the resident dog as stated earlier, so it's possible I might exhibit similar curiosity towards other dogs and cats. Oh, and I know how to respond to the command "sit."   Champagne is from a local impound. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application.
