Story
To apply or see more of Hammy, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/18/hammy I'm Hammy and the humans say I’m a sensational boy…whatever that means. I was rescued from Solano County Animal Control, and life has been looking up ever since! First things first, I'm a pro on the leash making me the perfect companion for those leisurely strolls. Oh, and did I mention balls? I'm head over paws IN LOVE with them! If you're on the hunt for a dog with a genuine passion for balls, well, you just found me! I'm not just a ball enthusiast. People big and small? They’re all pals in my book. I also get along with my doggy foster sibling. While I’m fine living with other dogs, I don’t really get the whole playing thing so if you’re looking for a rowdy playmate for your dog, that may not be me. Now, here's the thing – I’m a little embarrassed, but I've got a bit of hair loss on my backside. I’ve been reassured that it will improve with some TLC. If you think you can welcome me (along with all my balls for fetchin’), I would be so pleased. I can’t wait to meet ya! Hammy is being fostered in SACRAMENTO, CA Estimated DOB: 8/29/2017 SPONSORED Adoption Donation includes: Neuter, Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella, and microchip Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Bella is a 4-year-old spayed female looking for a loving home where she can thrive as the only pet. She is potty trained, up to date on vaccines, and currently working on crate training. Bella is energetic, affectionate, people-oriented, and good with children. She loves attention and would do best with an active owner who can continue providing structure, exercise, and consistency. This has been an incredibly difficult decision because Bella is deeply loved. Unfortunately, with a busy multi-dog household, full-time work, school, and family responsibilities, we have realized we can no longer give her the one-on-one attention and environment she truly needs to succeed long term.Bella has a problem with resource guarding, so she needs a home without dogs or an experienced owner. We are committed to finding the right fit for her and are not rushing the process. Rehoming fee applies to ensure a serious, committed home.

COURTESY POST — A Loving Home Needed for “Canela”Date: Thursday, December 18, 2025 &#226&#154&#160&#239&#184&#143 Please note: Canela is not at the shelter. This is a courtesy post to help her family find a safe, loving home. All inquiries should be directed to the owner, not Yolo County Animal Services. Meet Canela, an 11-month-old female Pit Bully with a sweet heart, playful spirit, and so much love to give. This post comes from a place of deep care and heartbreak, as Canela’s family is facing serious financial and housing hardship and wants nothing more than for her to be safe, loved, and properly cared for. About Canela Breed: Pit Bully Age: 11 months Color: Brown & white Gender: Female Spayed: No Vaccines: Up to date Crate Trained: Yes Potty Trained: No Living Situation: Both indoors and outdoors Other Pets: Has lived with dogs Behavior & Temperament Children: Friendly Visitors: Very excited and affectionate; jumps up for attention Personality: Loving, happy, playful, and eager for human connection Training Needs: Young and energetic; would benefit from consistent training and structure Handling: Does not allow food or toys to be taken away and should be fed separately Bite History: None — she has never bitten anyone Health Notes (Transparency Matters) Canela has been seen by a veterinarian. She is very underweight despite eating well and having high energy. No illness has been diagnosed, but additional veterinary testing was recommended and could not be pursued due to financial hardship. She will need a home that can provide ongoing veterinary care and monitoring to help her thrive. Ideal Home for Canela Canela would do best in: A stable home with the financial ability to provide food, training, and veterinary care An adopter who understands young, energetic dogs A home with time, patience, and commitment to training Someone who can give her the attention and guidance she needs to grow into her best self Reason for Rehoming Canela’s family has lost employment and is facing the possibility of losing their home. With no reliable income and limited resources, they are making the incredibly difficult decision to rehome her out of love — knowing she deserves more than they can currently provide. Located in: Woodland, CA Contact: Maricela (530) 383-9056 Email: gonzalezmaricela4@gmail.com Canela is a beautiful, loving young dog who deserves stability, care, and a future filled with security. Story
Cymbal is a young pup with a joyful, affectionate personality and a wonderfully social nature. He is at an age where he should be learning the rhythms of home life, and he is more than ready for that next chapter. At a recent adoption event, Cymbal was an absolute standout. He greeted adults and children with ease, handled the busy environment beautifully, and charmed multiple families throughout the day. Despite coming incredibly close to being adopted, he somehow ended the event still waiting. Cymbal rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, and is eager to engage with his people. He is playful, curious, and highly treat-motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. Most of all, Cymbal is a genuine lovebug who enjoys affection, companionship, and being close to his humans. Schedule an appointment to meet Cymbal at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.org June 6, 2026, 11:15 pm

Story
We found JD as a puppy, living in poor condition and not well socialized. I have tried my best to train, socialize and he has passed puppy obedience School. He is house broken and leashed trained. He has been around both small and large breed dogs in our home he sleeps on the bed. He has shown food aggression to our large male lab so feeding him separately will be important. We have never had this breed before so someone with experience is needed. He must be indoors and an only dog or with females. He loves to cuddle go on long walks around the neighborhood, is shy around other dogs like at Petco. He loves to play with the other dogs in the house. He will go home with a bed leash harness food toys and treats. As well as clothes with the scent of us and his dog friends to go home with you. If you live in the Elk Grove area we can meet up for play dates.
