To apply or see more of Hammy, go to: https://www.heartsforpawsrescue.com/219873/2023/11/18/hammy I'm Hammy and the humans say I’m a sensational boy…whatever that means. I was rescued from Solano County Animal Control, and life has been looking up ever since! First things first, I'm a pro on the leash making me the perfect companion for those leisurely strolls. Oh, and did I mention balls? I'm head over paws IN LOVE with them! If you're on the hunt for a dog with a genuine passion for balls, well, you just found me! I'm not just a ball enthusiast. People big and small? They’re all pals in my book. I also get along with my doggy foster sibling. While I’m fine living with other dogs, I don’t really get the whole playing thing so if you’re looking for a rowdy playmate for your dog, that may not be me. Now, here's the thing – I’m a little embarrassed, but I've got a bit of hair loss on my backside. I’ve been reassured that it will improve with some TLC. If you think you can welcome me (along with all my balls for fetchin’), I would be so pleased. I can’t wait to meet ya! Hammy is being fostered in SACRAMENTO, CA Estimated DOB: 8/29/2017 SPONSORED Adoption Donation includes: Neuter, Rabies, DHPP, Bordatella, and microchip Interested in adopting? 1. Please complete our online form at heartsforpawsrescue.com/adoption-application 2. We will respond in 1-3 days for a call! 3. If it sounds like a potential match for you and the dog of interest, we will promptly set up a meet and greet at the foster home Please note we are a foster-based rescue meaning our dogs are in individual foster homes throughout sac and the bay. For this reason we may only be able to schedule meets for one dog at a time (or litter). The average timeline between app submission and a meet and greet is 3-5 days. Please only submit an application for a specific dog if you are ready to adopt that animal within a week's time. Follow facebook.com/heartsforpawsrescue & Instagram @heartsforpawsrescue for more! Story
Cymbal is a young pup with a joyful, affectionate personality and a wonderfully social nature. He is at an age where he should be learning the rhythms of home life, and he is more than ready for that next chapter. At a recent adoption event, Cymbal was an absolute standout. He greeted adults and children with ease, handled the busy environment beautifully, and charmed multiple families throughout the day. Despite coming incredibly close to being adopted, he somehow ended the event still waiting. Cymbal rides well in the car, walks nicely on leash, and is eager to engage with his people. He is playful, curious, and highly treat-motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. Most of all, Cymbal is a genuine lovebug who enjoys affection, companionship, and being close to his humans. Schedule an appointment to meet Cymbal at yoloshelter.org/dogs or email adopt@yoloshelter.org June 17, 2026, 1:08 am

Story
If ever there was a dog who deserved a second chance, it`s Olive.Olive is a 10yo red Staffy who has found herself at the shelter after being picked up as a stray. Nobody even came looking for her. Based on her condition when she arrived, it`s clear she has not been well cared for. Shelter vets believe her hair loss may be permanent, but Olive seems completely unbothered by it and is far too busy enjoying life to let it slow her down. Plus, she is beautiful regardless!Since arriving at the shelter, Olive has gained some healthy weight and reminded everyone that senior dogs are often the very best dogs. She has a fun, spunky personality, enjoys getting out and about, and loves to spend time with people. She is affectionate without being demanding, allows all handling, and is the kind of girl who just likes to be near you.Olive walks well on leash and has lovely manners. Kind of crazy considering she has not always been treated kindly. It will be easy for someone to see the missing fur before they see Olive. What her volunteers hope they see instead is a happy, loving girl who still has so much life left to live and so much love left to give. She deserves a home where she will never again have to wonder whether she matters. Olive is currently housed in a building that is inaccessible to the public, so please ask to meet her!

Story
Khaleesi was born July 6 last year (11 months old). She is about 50% pitbull and staffordshire terrier mix, 25% German shepherd and 20% husky. She is such a loving and energetic spirit. She loves the dog park and other dogs + children! She knows tricks and shows eagerness to learn more each day. Khaleesi is crate-trained, leash-trained. Working with her on nibbling during play. Not socialized to cats in my household. Adoption fee includes crate, food and all other pet supplies I’ve acquired for her. I am a full time student and I’m going to be taking up more classes/work soon so this sweet girl won’t get the attention and dedication to training she deserves. I think nibbling stems from not having other dogs to playfully interact with since shes my only one, so applicants with other dogs will be prioritized. She is mostly potty trained (goes outside and occasionally on potty pads) such a sweet and loyal girl deserving of an attentive home. She is non-aggressive, cheeky, timid.

Story
At two and a half months old, Bingo was found alone in a field and scared. It was discovered shortly after that that he had two congenital heart defects. Right now, one compensates for the other. We do not know what this means for Bingo long-term, but he has no idea he is sick and lives life to the fullest. Bingo is a playful young dog that is approximately one year old. Bingo enjoys his dog and human friends. He has no exercise limitations, so we allow Bingo to self-regulate. Although he would not make a good hiking or running companion, he loves running and playing with friends. He has never met a toy that he doesn’t love. He can self-entertain with a ball for a long time. Bingo is crate-trained but can also be left in the house freely without concern for destruction. He loves snuggling on the couch and sleeping on the human’s bed. Bingo has been raised in a home with several dogs and would prefer to live with another doggy resident. Bingo enjoys outings to the park, lake, and patio restaurants. He is a great companion and snuggly buddy!

Story
Zeus is very smart and playful, he loves toys and learns routines quickly. Zeus loves to play chase and tug anytime. He is learning his manners well, but he still barks and gets excited easily so he may do best somewhere he has a little space to play on his own. He is very friendly with other people, he wants to play and will go get his toys and attempt to engage you in tug of war. He likes to chase balls but is still learning “drop”. If you have a couple toys to alternate with, he will fetch. He loves belly rubs. Zeus loves his treats but is pretty mellow about mealtimes. He will take food from your hand gently. We give him food 3 times a day and he often eats it slowly throughout the day, he doesn’t gobble food or overeat. When we need to give him pills he will eat a spoon of peanut butter with meds with no problem. Zeus crates well; he will go in there easily if you point inside and often takes naps in there on his own. His foster parents are home a lot so he is a little spoiled with attention, but he is used to being in his crate alone for a few hours at a time. He is both affectionate and sometimes self-sufficient. He likes to be with you or cuddle, and he also seems comfortable napping in the ‘other’ room. We have not tested Zeus with cats but he has a strong chase/hunt instinct and always goes after birds or squirrels. Zeus is sweet but he does get excited and can jump or be a rough player. He is learning not to jump up so much, but he does seem to like standing up on his hind legs. He is also pretty vocal when he is playing

Story
Scooby is a 1.5 year old male Boxer mix. According to his first family, he is cat and child friendly. His current foster mom says he is friendly with people and dogs once he warms up to them. Scooby is vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He is medium/high energy: once he gets his energy out, he’s happy to nap with you on the couch. Scooby was unfortunately a surrender to a high kill shelter. A member of his former family said he had been abused and starved by another family member. At the shelter he was sweet but shy with people and dogs. We pulled him before he was set to be euthanized due to shelter overpopulation. In foster, he has gained a lot of confidence and blossomed into the sweet, playful dog we know him to be. He still takes a little time to warm up to new people and dogs, but with his history, we can’t fault him for that.
