Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Norah is approximately 7 months old. She came from the Stockton shelter where one of our RPNC volunteers first heard about her and started fostering her. Norah was a medical foster due to her having a prolapsed rectum. She's had two surgeries to repair her colon and after a long recovery period Norah is ready to find her forever home. Norah will need to stay on special food through her life and it will be important for her new family to understand her medical condition. There is a possibility that she will need to have another surgery by a specialist. However, her foster has been able to control her condition with diet and we are hopeful her new family will be able to do the same. Norah is a typical 6 month old puppy. She loves to play, play, play. She currently lives with 2 other dogs; a younger dog and an older dog. She does great with both. Plays with the younger dog and respects the older dog. She also lives with a cat, that she likes to chase. We think with boundaries and more training she could live with a dog savvy cat. She loves all peoples. She is house and crate trained but is still learning the command "go to bed" to go into her crate on command and she is still learning the basics such as sit. Altough Norah is your typical active puppy, she can also chill out and chew on a nyla bone for hours. Norah would be a fantastic addition to any family. She is one of those dogs that fits in with everyone. Story
Neeko is a very sweet and loving dog who will seek all of your attention and craves physical touch, and verbal affirmations. He loves to cuddle and will be at your side for as long as you let him. He listens well, is potty trained, and trained for sit/down and eating behaviors. He can become territorial over his humans, which can lead to jealousy issues with another dog. He will be aggressive with my other dog when other humans are petting him and I am not present (as I understand how to maintain the balance). I am currently traveling much more for work and I would like to take my older dog with me as much as possible. I cannot travel with 2 dogs. I became divorced and the workload to care for 2 dogs by myself has become stressful. Neeko needs an owner who provide him the lover and care that he’s seeking, my other dog is more of an independent introvert (like myself).

Story
WHAT IS YOUR NAME? Hi hi! My name is Luciano! ARE YOU A GIRL OR A BOY? I'm a good boy! HOW OLD ARE YOU? I was born in September 2015. WHAT BREED ARE YOU? American Staffordshire Terrier HOW MUCH DO YOU WEIGH? If I had a driver's license, it would say 60lbs. But I'm a few pounds over that. I won't judge if you don't. WHAT DO YOU LOOK LIKE? Handsome! I have the most AMAZING smile that will guarantee to make you happy just looking at me. My clipped ears are an often talked about feature. But the ladies tell me that my green eyes are mesmerizing. WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO EAT? I am a good eater! I eat my kibble, but I also like sweet potatoes, Greek yogurt, watermelon and apples. WHAT KIND OF PERSONALITY DO YOU HAVE? Whoever said you can't teach an old dog new tricks was definitely not talking about me. I love to try new things. The more I am in new situations, the better I learn to handle it. Most days are pretty normal, though, and I've got a chill vibe with a large dose of loving. DESCRIBE YOUR PERFECT DAY: EAT! Walk. Sleep. Get some cuddles. Back to sleep. Play - I love the water most, but I also love tug-of-war or chase. I like brain games, too. Back to sleep. EAT! All I want to do after that is cuddle and sleep. My day is over! WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TOY? Believe it or not, my favorite thing to play with is water from the hose! DO YOU KNOW ANY TRICKS? Sit, Wait, Plotz (lay down), Shake, Return, Leave It, No, and Yes. I've been getting pretty good lately at staying in my designated spot when my foster mom opens the door to get a delivery, too. WOW, impressive, right? Yeah, I'm a pretty smart dude! WHAT SCARES YOU? I am not a huge fan of loud banging sounds. Does anyone really like them, though? HAVE YOU BEEN AROUND CHILDREN? DO YOU LIKE THEM? Yep! I love kids!! DO YOU LIKE CATS? Enh, no thanks... I am not a cat guy. HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT OTHER DOGS? I used to live with other dogs and did fine. I'm an only dog in the house now. As always with adult dogs, slow intros are required! IF YOU COULD BE ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD, WHERE WOULD IT BE? On a human lap. Or a dog pool. That's a hard one. Maybe on your lap IN the pool? HOW IS YOUR HEALTH? Grrrreat! WHO DO YOU LIVE WITH IN YOUR FOSTER HOME AND WHO IS YOUR CLOSEST COMPANION? I live with my foster mom and human brother. I don't choose favorites. I know who to go to depending on what I want. WHERE DO YOU HANG OUT WHEN YOU ARE HOME ALONE? I am such a good boy when I am alone! I just hang out on my comfy bed. WHERE DO YOU SLEEP? You guessed it... I am all about my bed! DO YOU LIKE WALKING ON A LEASH? I LOVE walks! It has taken a lot of practice, but I am good on a leash. I do best with consistent rules. DO YOU HAVE ANY "NOT-SO-GREAT" HABITS THAT WE SHOULD KNOW ABOUT? FOR INSTANCE, DO YOU BARK OR DIG IN THE YARD? I've been known to check the yard for weak spots and to patrol for cats, but when everything is cool, I just like to hang out in the yard and sunbathe. I don't bark much, only when I'm nervous or playing. You could go days and not hear me bark. I admittedly get excited when new people are in the house, or we pass a reactive dog on a walk. My foster mom has learned some strategies to help me calm down faster in these situations. She can teach you, too. ARE YOU HOUSE TRAINED? (MEANING DO YOU GO POTTY OUTSIDE) Yep! Got that bit taken care of a long time ago! DO YOU LIKE WATER? Let's gooo! Water water water!! WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR FOSTER FAMILY? I love them most for cuddles and letting me spend more time outside in the world. WHAT WAS YOUR LIFE LIKE BEFORE BEING BROUGHT INTO NORCAL BULLY BREED RESCUE? I spent a lot of time in a crate and my experiences were very limited. But since I was saved from that life, I have learned how to enjoy every bit of love and fun that I can find. I am hoping to find a family that will give me as much love as I have to share with them. Will you take me home and love me forever? ***LUCIANO'S ADOPTION FEE IS $100.00*** If you are interested in Luciano please jump on our website and fill out an adoption application - www.norcalbullybreedrescue.org At this time we are asking for adopters to be in the Sacramento and IMMEDIATE surrounding areas. Story
Meet Liam! Liam is a big goofball and an even bigger cuddle bug. He always wants to be part of the action, and LOVES to be by his people. He loves to curl up on the couch and be a lap dog… despite being 75 lbs. While in foster care Liam has been working on his house-training, crate training, basic commands and walking on a leash. We guess he's about 3 years old. Liam is a big love bug with a lot of love to give! He loves to play with stuffed toys, but will go bonkers for a bone! He also enjoys peanut butter kongs as a nice treat. Liam loves to give and receive big hugs from his favorite humans. Liam previously lived nicely with other big dogs, but after a long time in a very stressful shelter he started to get over-excited at dogs behind barriers. He is working on this while in foster care and has already made good progress. He has met a couple cats as well in foster care. He does not have a high prey drive, but he also is still learning how to interact with them. He likely did not live with cats previously. Liam has been neutered, microchipped and is up to date on his vaccinations. Bring home this goofball to his forever family today! Liam is a collaboration between our rescue and Better World Rescue in Tracy, CA info@betterworldrescue.org- email them or contact us. Interested in meeting Liam? Story
Meet Duke- Senior Pittie! Duke was pulled from a shelter in Los Angeles. He was the longest living resident of the shelter and had quite a few people networking him. We were able to find a foster and so we saved him from euthanasia on the last day he had to live. Duke is a super sweet dude, and since he is originally from Sothern California, he has not lost that chill vibe. Duke is an 8 year old Staffordshire terrier mix. He loves nothing more than to spend time and be petted by pretty much anyone. With his mellow personalitym he doesn't require much exercise, but he does currently walk the block four times a day with an occasional break in a grassy shady spot. He LOVES people so much, he tries to hang back on our walks if he sees someone familiar or new so he can say hello. Duke is crate trained. He sleeps thru the night and is quiet but will let you know if he needs to go outside. He's a mellow coach potato and would love to watch movies with you. Duke loves car rides and the occasional pup cup from your favorite coffee drive thru. He may also do fine with respectful kids. Duke is on medication for arthritis, but otherwise no health issues. He is living with quite a few dogs, but is not interacting with them. We would prefer he be the only dog, so he can be showered with undivided love and attention for his golden years. Interested in meeting Duke and giving him a pampered life in his golden years? Story
Courtesy Post - this is not a Resilient Dog Rescue Dog. We are assisting owner with rehoming. Hello! My name is Remi Rae and I’m a handsome, easy-going guy. Although I often look quite serious in my photos, I have a silly side and happily indulge my foster mom when she makes me bear the indignity of wearing costumes and clothes. Also, I’m the best wiggle butt greeter there is! Quick Facts: My foster mom did my DNA and I am: 21.6% American Staffordshire Terrier 21.6% American Bully 7.8% Labrador Retriever 7.2% American Bulldog 4.8% Border Collie Gender: Male Age: 2 ½ years old (a/o Dec 2023) Size: 75 pounds Good with dogs: I need to work on my socialization skills. I live with my sister but she and I have been butting heads for a while. My Mom and Dad split up, and we're having a hard time. Good with cats: I have never been around a cat but if they are anything like a squirrel, I would probably chase them Good with kids: I have been around kids older than 12 years and I did great with them. I have never been around any younger kids. History: My mom adopted me from Front Street Animal Shelter in July of 2022. My sister and I were found on the streets and brought in together. Personality: I’m a pretty mellow guy. My day starts about 6 am when Grandma feeds me breakfast. I like kibble with wet food and a little cottage cheese mixed in. Then she makes me rest for an hour before I can go outside to do my business. I enjoy a good walk but I like to pull and sometimes I bark at other dogs. I need some work on that. I can sit and laydown and I’m really good at coming in the house when my name is called. I love these cookies that my mom buys. I like to take them to my bed and munch them up. Sometimes my mom will give me a chip or a piece of popcorn but I don’t understand how to eat them. I just put them in my mouth but then I drop them because they are weird. I would rather a piece of salami or a piece of cheese. When we play outside in the backyard, I prefer frisbees over balls. I have a fascination with the water hose. Sometimes when my mom waters the trees I try and eat the water that squirts out. After we play for a while, I like to lay in the sun on my Kuranda bed. My Grandma makes me come in and take a nap during the day which is great because I love to nap on the couch or on my dog bed. I eat dinner around 5 pm and my mom, again, makes me wait an hour before I can go outside to do my business. Something about me running around with food in belly and my stomach twisting? I dunno, she said it’s for my own good so I just listen to her. In the evening we usually lounge on the couch and watch T.V. My mom will rub my belly which I LOVE! She’s a good belly rubber. After that it’s time for bed on my dog bed. I have not been crate trained but I like my dog bed. Favorite Activities: • Eating • Running Around the Yard • Going for Walks • Napping • Getting Belly Rubs I am looking for a new home because my sister and I just don’t get along anymore. I am the more mellow of the two of us. She is high strung and just gets on my nerves so we have had a few spats. I don’t want to fight with her anymore and since I am so easy going my mom thinks it would be easier to find me a quiet, loving home than to find my sister another home. If you're looking for an easy-going, loving guy who just wants some peace and quiet and a warm, safe place to lay his head - oh, and maybe a belly rub from time to time - then I’m your guy! Interested in meeting Remi Rae? Let us know! *Call or text 833-473-7364 or *Send an email to adopt@sacrdr.org (including your phone number) or *Message us on social media @resilientdogrescue or *Inquire using the Petfinder system - be sure to include your phone number We look forward to hearing from you! Story
Copper is a super sweet dog that loves people and kids. He enjoys snuggling on the couch and exploring outside. We got Copper and his brother about a year ago when they were 5 months old after they were found abandoned. We've been doing some training with them, but we're seeing some leash reactivity and dog aggression on walks now and we feel that Copper needs a different environment, one that we can't provide for him. Copper would do well in a home/family in which he is the only dog. And a big backyard in which he can run and play would be ideal.

Bandit is a super sweet dog. He is very affectionate and loves people and kids. He enjoys snuggling on the couch and running around/ exploring outside. We got Bandit and his brother about a year ago when they were 5 months old after they were found abandoned. We've been doing some training with them, and Bandit does well on walks, but has demonstrated some dog aggression on occasion. He has a lot of energy and is very playful, but we're no longer able to care for him the way we feel that he deserves. Bandit would do well with a family in which he is the only dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sacramento- Meet Tootsie Roll, an adorable English Bulldog with a heart as sweet as her name. Tootsie Roll is a special pup, as she has Spina Bifida, a condition that affects her bladder and bowel control. Despite this, Tootsie Roll walks just fine, radiating joy with every step. To manage her incontinence, Tootsie Roll wears a diaper, a routine that, for those unfamiliar, is not as daunting as it may seem. It requires less than half an hour of care each day, and the more time without a diaper, the better off she is. This lovable Bulldog is, otherwise, a "normal" English Bulldog, complete with the charming quirks that make the breed so beloved. Tootsie Roll isn't a fan of hot weather, but the joys of diapers mean that outings are more flexible, especially during hot or rainy days. Despite facing the heartbreaking prospect of euthanasia due to her condition, Tootsie Roll's resilience shone through, and she is now ready to bring joy to a loving home. This happy and social girl adores attention, playtime, and, yes, she snores loud! Tootsie Roll would thrive in a home with another dog companion, relishing in playful interactions. However, humans willing to engage in tug-of-war and toss games will also find her to be the perfect playmate. Caring for a dog with Spina Bifida involves managing skin care and bowel and bladder functions, but this can be navigated through various approaches. Tootsie Roll's foster parent has found success by using a pen at night and during work hours to give her diaper-free time. For those interested in welcoming Tootsie Roll into their lives, the adoption process is conveniently available online at http://recycledpetsnorcal.org/adoptpet/. The adoption fee of $500 covers her spaying, microchipping, and up-to-date vaccines. This fee is waived for a home with a human also dealing with Spina Bifida, recognizing the unique connection that can be formed. To gain insights into caring for a dog with Spina Bifida, there's a helpful Facebook group dedicated to English Bulldogs with the condition. Additionally, for information on bowel management, the website https://www.handicappedpets.com/blog/bowel-management-incontinent-pets/ can be a valuable resource. Tootsie Roll is more than a pet; she's a testament to resilience and the capacity for love. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this special Bulldog, she is eagerly waiting for her perfect forever family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 18, 2024, 12:09 am

Story
Dexter spent a weekend with two of our foster volunteers, and it was all it took to see what a calm, sweet, affectionate, playful, happy, and gentle companion he is. He is house-trained, enjoys short to medium leisurely neighborhood walks, car rides, golf cart rides, and cuddling. He is a low to medium energy dog with polite indoor manners. When you are on the sofa, he will be by your side. He is a happy dog who will sleep curled up in bed with you. Once he settles on your bed, he stays still for the night and wakes up when you do.Dexter gives the best "boxer" hugs when you come home and shows the happiest wiggle butts when he sees the leash-he loves his people and going for walks. Dexter knows sit, down, shake, and wait. He offers his paw for a shake, will sit and wait at the door before each walk, and sit for his food dish. He sat right next to our foster volunteers on the sofa while they ate breakfast, watching the morning news, and never tried to sneak a bite of their meal.Dexter may be shy and aloof during his first visit with you in the shelter, but it only took 24 hours in our volunteer's foster home for Dexter to completely turn around and become a tail-wagging, butt-wiggling love bug. Please watch his video to see this transformation between his behavior in the shelter and at home. Dexter becomes playful and happy if you are patient and give him the chance to become comfortable. He loves belly rubs, playing fetch, car rides, golf cart rides, and walks. He is well-behaved in the car and stays in his seat, enjoying putting his nose out of the window when it is rolled halfway down for him. Dexter does seem shy of new things and new people, but patience, praise, and treats will win him over. Now he loves golf cart rides! We recommend any children in his new home be age 10 or older. Dexter may do well with other dogs in his new home with a slow introduction. Adoption fee: WaivedMonthly Promotion Applies
