Story
Mia is a 4 year old pit mix. She is amazing with kids and loves to play. My daughter and I adopted her from a rescue when she was 8 weeks old. In her new home, we are looking for a family that has more time. When we adopted her, I was recently divorced and in a rough spot. Mia filled a huge hole in our hearts (for which I will be forever grateful), however, recently I have taken on more responsibility at work, my daughter has gotten older and is more involved in sports and extracurriculars, and we are considering purchasing another property and living between two homes. Our greatest wish is for more stability for a pup that we love. We don’t make this decision lightly and realize that by some, it may be viewed as irresponsible, but I do know that there’s likely a family out there that can provide her with more than we can.

At home, she is affectionate, gentle, and happiest curled up beside those she trusts. However, she struggles with anxiety, especially in unfamiliar situations or around new people. When she feels overwhelmed or scared, her anxiety can come across as reactivity or aggression. In reality, she is fear-based and defensive - not mean-spirited. With patience, structure, and understanding, she thrives and shows her true, sweet nature. She turned 4 on February 13th, is spayed and fully vaccinated. She is seeking a home with someone who is able to ease her anxiety, that does not have frequent company or children.
