Story
Mandu is a very sweet pit mix that rescued from an abandonment situation. Mandu means dumpling because he is goofy. Mandu is housetrained and crate trained. When told to go into his "house", he will run into his crate waiting for this treats. Mandu is still an adolescent and has bouts of play, followed by cuddle time, and naps. He loves his chew toys and bones. Mandu is learning fetch. He bonds quickly to his family. Mandu is young and needs to work on listening when there are distractions. He will bark at strangers but adjusts to them with treats and observing them before making them his friend. Mandu needs continued training on meeting strange dogs the first time. When meeting them in a control environment, he befriends them and loves to play with other dogs. He currently goes to dog daycare once a week to play with friends. He is a little over 1 year old, 42lbs, and blue/silver and white.

Story
**Twinkie is in a foster home and not at the shelter** Hey there, I'm Twinkie! No, not the sweet treat, but I'm just as delightful. I'm playful, goofy, and curious. I might stumble around a bit, but that's just part of my charm. I have done fabulous with potty and crate training. I’ve even been left alone uncrated for about 3 hours with no issues too. My foster mom say she misses me too much to leave me any longer. I'm quite the chatterbox, always ready to share my thoughts. If you've had a long day, don't worry, you won’t have to say a word with me around. Everyday is an adventure with me. My foster mom says I am such a sponge taking so many new things in and I’m doing really great. I do enjoy car rides but I would love a little nudge to help me get into the car. My favorite game is playing fetch. Have two toys ready and we can keep the game going for a little while until it’s nap time. My foster mom says the cutest thing I do is chew/suck on my blankie. I tend to do that when I am tired or needing to self sooth. She says it reminds her of a toddler sucking his thumb. I really like other dogs a lot! When I am around other dogs I do tire out very fast and exhaustion sets in quickly. Honestly as much as I love them I think I would be best as the only dog in the household. I’m looking for a home that can provide me with stability and guidance as well as love and praise. A daily structured routine would be awesome for me so I’m not always guessing what will be next. I’m a creature of habit for sure! So I’m thinking everyone in the home should be teenagers or older so we can all establish our household routines together. I'm ready to fill your life with laughter and lots of tail wags. Adopt me and let's make our own fun-filled adventures together! Apply at k9stray.com and my friends at k9 will be in touch.

Story
**in a foster home and not at the kennel** Howdy, folks! Name’s Yeehaw! I ain’t your ordinary dog, no siree! My life is like a comedy show, full of twists and turns. So, how did I end up here? Well, I was playing fetch with a donut. Yes, a donut! I ran into a police station, thinking it was a game. Next thing I know, I am being escorted to the shelter. Can you believe that? They thought I was a donut thief! I was just hungry. Now I’m looking for a new home, where the food is plenty and the love never ends. If you are up for some fun, laughter, and endless games of fetch then I’m your dog! I’m super friendly and like other dogs. I am not much for long walks. I prefer fun and games. Sadly, fun and games is what got me here in the first place. Some structure and consistency in my world would be great for me! My mugshot doesn’t say it but I’m about 2 years old and around 40 Lbs. Since I now have a record as a thief (I plead the fifth!), I will need an adult only home who can help me work on trading instead of stealing food and treats! If you got what I need to help me change my ways and keep me on the straight and narrow path then come meet me! I’ll be in my jail cell at k9. Feel free to pre-submit an application for me at k9stray.com and one of my wardens will contact you. *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. We also do not do cat testing, so we do not know how a dog will do with cats*

Story
**Felon is in a foster home and not living at the kennel** What a hunk of love Felon is! He is about to steal your heart. Felon's birthday is October 19, 2018 and he weighs approximately 73 pounds. Through no fault of his own, Felon has found himself back at the rescue after being adopted from us as a puppy, due to family medical issues. He is grieving his family and hoping to find his forever family very soon. Felon is well-mannered, playful and connecting, what a sweetie! The cutest thing ever is he does a nice sit pretty for treats and also does a happy dance when meeting new people. He just loves tennis balls (really any ball) too and easily relinquishes them. Felon loves cuddling, playing ball or tug, chewing bones and watching out the window. He is afraid of staircases and really wants to chase the outside kitties. Felon was a year old when his human brother was born and did exceptionally well with him. They were best of friends. Felon's foster home has three kids ages 11, 13 and 14. He is wonderful with the kids and all visitors. Children age 8 and older would be the best fit for a gentleman like Felon. Felon was raised with a female and male dog whom he lived with for 5 years. He is currently in a home with two female dogs. He initially wanted to mount them but they told him no, so he now enjoys simply stacking with the girls (if you own a bully mix, you know). Any dogs in the home will need an introduction prior to adoption. Felon sleeps through the night, is crate trained and stands by the door to go potty outside. However, his foster family has missed a couple signals which has led to accidents in the home. These shall diminish as he becomes more regulated with a known schedule and the humans aware of his potty times. He does not mark the home. Felon prefers to cuddle with the man of the house as he grew up being a daddy's boy. Although, he does love everyone equally. If you are interested in Felon and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying*

Story
Oh, sweet, gentle Noodle, you will just want to eat him up! He is estimated to be about 7 months old and weighs 38 pounds right now. Nothing makes Noodle happier than being close to you, he just craves closeness and is so darn affectionate. He is such a docile, well-mannered boy who only wants to please you. Noodle can be a little submissive though and retreats with a lot of noise or he is not quite sure what is going on. He may need a safe place to go to while getting used to a new home, like a crate in a quiet area. Noodle needs an adopter who has the time to work on building his confidence and a leader to look to for guidance and security. He will need a home where any children are at least 4 years old as well, who are respectful and will work with him while he comes out of his shell. This shy, gentle muffin can’t wait to have a family to love, snuggle and grow with. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Noodle would love to meet them. He has a soft, submissive approach with other dogs and likes to “check in” with you. It seems like he is going to follow the other dogs lead, Noodle may benefit from being in a home with another well socialized dog, it could really help build his confidence. If you are interested in Noodle and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying. Story
Happy loves to be snuggled in her bed with a toy! She is estimated to be about 10 months old and weighs 36 pounds. Happy is a friendly, playful, and energetic puppy who loves to make new friends!! She's a curious, outgoing pup who's always eager to learn and explore. She also likes to be close to you, hoping for a little love, oh, she just can’t wait for her family to find her. Happy does have some observed resource guarding, she is catching on quickly to her training and to “wait at bowl”. Her adopter will need to continue to work on her getting used to people around her food bowl. Happy is very responsive to training and wants to please you. She is still very young, so she'll need an active forever home that can provide her with the love, care, and attention that she needs to grow into a wonderful adult dog. An adult only home will be best for her. If there is another nice doggy sibling in the home, Happy would love to meet them. She has a loose, friendly “all in” approach with other dogs. If you are interested in Happy and are at least 21 years old, please come to our kennel during business hours, make an appointment, or fill out an application at k9stray.com and an adoption counselor will be in touch. We look forward to helping you find your new best friend! *Please check your lease agreements for breed/weight restrictions prior to applying.
