Story
This is Vader! Look at his ears though! He is a sweet month old boy we rescued in January. When you walk in the door after work he will greet you with so much love and happiness you would think it is the first time he is meeting you! He is full of energy and loves to wrestle with our other rescue pup, but he can outlast him in duration and intensity. For that reason he would do better as an only dog. This also applies to little humans, his excitement can make him overwhelming for kids under 13. He wants to please and is very obedient. When we got him he was very nervous and anxious, he has relaxed some, but may always be more of an anxious dog. He needs patience and love. He is very responsive to the beep on an e-collar, I have only had to vibrate a handful of times, never had to shock. Fully crate trained, does well with potty outside, you just have to stay on him, few accidents inside. I am devastated having to rehome him. He comes with his crate.

Arrival story: Came to Waggin’ Tails from Warren Animal Control. He was the best-behaved boy at the shelter and we knew he deserved a second chance! Approximate age / Weight: 2-ish yrs old and 50 lbs Personality: Written from Ross -- HELLO WORLD! My name is Ross and I’m a big ole ham! Picture this: I’m a chunky, lovable goofball bursting with excitement at the mere thought of meeting you. That's me! I'm all about spreading joy and wagging tails wherever I go. Now, let's talk toys. I've got a whole collection that would make any pup jealous. From squeaker balls to Nylabones, I've got ‘em. And am I proud of my stash! I'll gladly show you every single one during our first date. But wait, there's more! I'm not just a toy enthusiast—I'm also a fetch champion and tug-of-war extraordinaire. I'm a quick learner, too! Teach me a trick like "drop it," and I'll have it down pat in no time. I’m super food motivated especially if it involves hot dogs or peanut butter! Did I mention I've got a furry foster sibling? I love her very very very much, even if she's a bit of a toy thief and treat snatcher. Hey, sharing is caring, right? When it's time to wind down, I'm the epitome of good behavior. I'll curl up on the couch or in my cozy crate and snooze the night away without making a peep. And when it's time for adventures, count me in! Whether it is a leisurely stroll around the neighborhood or a road trip to parts unknown, I'm your perfect co-pilot. So, what do you say? Ready to add a bundle of joy (that's me!!!! ) to your family? I can't wait to meet you and become your new sidekick. Let's make some unforgettable memories together! By the way, I'm good on car rides and at the vet's office. Story
Maverick foster pupdate💙saved from living on a chain outside & has made amazing strides! 5mths, 30#, vaccinated, neutered & microchipped Searching for a smart, loyal & adorable little pup? Maverick could be your guy🐾Here’s what his foster mom has to say. 🕶️ He knows his name. He knows the word no and is easily redirected. Smart boy, and a fast learner. Wants to please and is a stage 5 clinger. Not 100% potty trained but pretty close. -Does good in his crate . Interested in cats but does not chase. Would greatly benefit from another dog in the home as it seems to raise his confidence. 💙Good with my teenage kids and I’m sure he would be good with respectful littles, he’s just a little apprehensive and unsure yet . Seems to be a little unsure about adult males. He’s a little nervous to be outside at dark. It seems as though he thinks your going to leave him out there. In fact, anytime he’s outside he likes to be able to see you. -At first, I don’t think he really knew what toys were but he is learning and he enjoys playing with the toys. He likes stuffies and ropes and he enjoys playing tug-of-war with my dog. 🕶️ He also enjoys a good game of catch me if you can with my dog. -He loves the puzzle and figured it out quickly, and he enjoys peanut butter in the Kong and lick mat. He does sometimes choose to sleep in his crate at night, but he definitely prefers to sleep on the bed with you under a blanket. If you think Maverick could be your match apply to meet this sweet boy that will bring you so much love & joy 🏡 www.underdogrescueranch.com/adopt

Story
Anubis is a handsome American bully who came to the shelter when a couple of MSU students found him running loose. No one came for him so he's ready to find a new home. He's a little stressed about being at the shelter but he loves people and will happily stuff is almost 70 pounds in your lap! He makes the cutest snorts, snuffles, and wheezes and a few that you just have to hear for yourself (there were some unkind comparisons to pig noises but he isn't taking it personally!). He loves other dogs and would love a playful friend in his new home. He tires out quickly so maybe not too playful!

Story
BENNY is one of the sweetest dogs around. He loves to cuddle and gives really great kisses. This cutie is housebroken and crate trained (win)!! Benny does not chew things he is not supposed to and really just wants a home where he can snooze on the couch. Benny is good with other dogs, but can be selective at times. He would need to do a meet and greet with any dogs in the home. He was very interested in the cat that he met, but was not aggressive during that meet.Benny would be great in a home with kids or without kids. He would love to go camping and/or hiking. He might even like to try kayaking!!If you want to meet Benny apply today!!www.newhopepetrescue.com/adoptPlease check out our adoption process & on-line application here: https://www.newhopepetrescue.com/Adoption Fee for dogs cover the following vetting:1. Story
Make sure you let us know you saw Bruno on Adopt-a-pet.*In a foster home, call for meet/greet* Talk about a lug head, this big guy was found as a stray by a vet tech who tried to find his owner. With no luck he ended up at the shelter. Bruno quickly showed us what a ham he is, he's quite the crooner too! Bruno does bark to get your attention and when he's excited. This smart pup knows sit, shake, down, he comes when called, enjoys walks (he's strong), loves to romp around the yard, loves to "fish" out of the pool, and has done well with the canine friends he's met, he will not share toys and shows some possessiveness of them. Bruno is a big boy, with a big heart, he loves everyone. We say no small children due to his size and tendency to chew up toys. If you've been looking for a a big pup that doesn't require a lot of work make sure to visit with Bruno Mars!
