Story
Hi, I’m Billie! My favorite thing is being by your side. I’m a happy young girl with lots of energy for playing. I’m very well behaved around the house and love to snuggle on the couch. I love to run in a fenced yard or on a long line. I also really like to chase small animals, so a cat-free home would be best for me. I am very attentive with my beautiful yellow eyes and I enjoy learning through training games. I’m the perfect size at 45 lbs. I’m pretty scared of new dogs and I may bark to keep them away from me, but I did live with dogs before and got along with them well. New people are even a little scary to me at first. My adoption comes with six free training sessions with a certified, force-free trainer. I’ve got a whole life ahead of me and I’m eager to meet you so we can get started on it together. Apply today to meet me so I can be your new BFF. Adoption fee: $80. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 30 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip. Shop our Amazon Wish List to gift us supplies we need and have them shipped directly to us.. NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable pups, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog or puppy as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. If the meeting goes well and everyone is happy, you begin the mandatory, minimum two-week adjustment period with the pet as part of your family. You will pay the non-refundable adoption fee at the start of the two-week adjustment period. This pending period allows your new dog or cat time to adjust to their new home, new people, new routine, etc., and for you to decide if it's a match and the right pet for you. At the end of two weeks (some people extend the adjustment time as needed and that's fine too), if everyone is happy, then we finalize the adoption. Feel free to email if you have any questions.

Story
Hi everyone, my name is Sage! If you are looking for a bouncy best friend who follows you around all day, I’m your girl. I am young at about 2 years old. I am the perfect cuddle size, about 40 lbs. I LOVES all the people. I think humans are the best invention ever, and I am friends with all of them. I am a snuggle bug, a real pro. You will find me where you are, cuddling at the foot of your bed, next to you on the couch or in my dog bed nearby. I am a 5-star work-from-home colleague, quietly close by while you work all day. I am quiet and well behaved. I do love snackies and treats. I work for them and I know lots of behavior commands, like sit and come. I am 100% housetrained. I'm smart, a quick learner, so I hope you'll teach me new things. Again, working hard for those treats. One of my favorite pastimes is going for leisurely walks. I also really enjoy playing with tennis balls and squeaky toys. I am a happy girl by default. I smile and wag my tail to say hello. I am currently undergoing heartworm treatment, but the rescue will continue to handle that until I'm all better. If you have room in your heart and home for a sweetheart like me, please apply today and prepare to fall in love! Adoption fee: $80. Fee includes testing, deworming, vaccinations, spay/neuter, 30 days of free pet insurance, one session with a certified behavior trainer and microchip. Adoption and Foster Care Application Shop our Amazon Wish List to gift us supplies we need and have them shipped directly to us. NOTE ABOUT BREED LABELING: Visual breed identification of dogs is unreliable and usually inaccurate. So, for most of our adoptable dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Why is labeling a dog such a big deal? A label will stick with a dog for the rest of its life. A label can mean discrimination, losing its home or even death. Labels are a problem for the dogs when we, as the local experts on animals, allow adopters, politicians and community members to think that the label we assign can predict who that dog is or will be. Examples: Identify these mixed breed dogs (pdf) Now, compare these canine DNA results with the survey responses to see that dog breeds cannot be visually identified, not even by the experts. Adoption Process: Complete the application at www.pawsforliferescue.org. We then arrange a location, date and time for you to meet some pets. Story
Dame is a 4 yr old dog. He’s VERY loving! He’s the sweetest boy! I love him with my whole heart. Unfortunately, with me working 2 jobs and being a college student, I can’t fully give Dame all his needs. I got him when I was younger and after learning about him throughout the years, I want him in a home where he can reach his full potential physically. He requires a lot of attention and exercise… I’m not home enough to give him that often. Dame needs a home where they can provide him everything he needs. Dame does have an appointment set to be neutered in June 2024. I can provide that information to his new owner(s) My only condition is that I want monthly-bimonthly visits. If we could come to a common ground about that. I’m happy!

These pups are in Rochester, Michigan too!

Story
Sparty is an 8 month old Boxer mix. Sparty had a rough start, very neglected, emaciated, covered in feces and urine, with urine burns, and ringworm all over him due to unsanitary environment. Well, after all that, this sweet sweet boy has forgot the past, and proves he just wants to live a happy life, with his person/family. Sparty is a silly, fun boy , with lots of personality. He loves everybody. He is good with dogs, cats, and kids. Housebroke, and doesn't mind his crate. He needs someone who is going to show him 100% love, because this boy will give it right back. If you want to know anymore about Sparty please feel free to contact us.
