Meet Tallulah – A True Survivor Searching for Her Safe Place If you have been following our journey, you may remember Tallulah—the beautiful mama dog we found eating trash by the side of the road. When we approached her, she did not run. Instead, with extraordinary trust and heart, she led us straight to her hidden babies. Because of Tallulah’s courage and gentle spirit, we were able to save her entire little family. Now, it is Tallulah’s turn to be cared for. This sweet, soulful girl has recently been diagnosed with heartworm and is also healing from a painful ear infection. She is looking for a foster-to-adopt home where she can rest, recover, and finally receive the unconditional love she has always given so freely to others. Tallulah is dog-friendly, wonderful with children and all humans, and the definition of a gentle, affectionate companion. She loves to snuggle, play, and simply be close to the people she trusts. After everything she has endured, Tallulah deserves a soft place to land—a quiet, loving home where she can heal and be reminded that she is safe. Her current foster can no longer keep her, and we are urgently searching for someone willing to step in and offer Tallulah the second chance she so deeply deserves. If you can open your heart and home to this incredible dog, please apply today. Giving Tallulah a safe space to heal is not just fostering—it is truly saving a life. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Meet Salvador! Salvador aka Sal is a 7-month-old puppy with a personality as big as his heart! This little guy is full of energy and love, and he’s looking for his forever family to share his playful spirit and cuddly nature with! His favorite activities include playing with his foster fur siblings, chasing squeaky toys, and enjoying a yak chew. When it’s time to wind down, he’s the #1 cuddler, always ready to give the best puppy hugs and snuggles! Sal is a blend of outgoing and laidback - he is social and loving, curious and playful, snuggly and silly. Sal is smart and treat motivated, making training enjoyable and smoother for all. He has learned many basic commands like "sit", "shake", "lay down", "outside", "crate", and his name. Sal is fully potty trained and fully crate trained - he even sleeps through the night in his kennel! He is working on leash training. Sal is great with other dogs, but has not been around cats. He is also really great with kids of all ages. His ideal family would be one that’s fairly active, possibly with children and/or another young dog around his size to match his playful energy. Sal prefers dogs who are the same size or larger than him. He could be the only dog in the home with someone who is committed to his socialization and training. If you have an adult dog, your dog will accompany you to the meet and greet to assist with the selection process. Adoptions are based on connection and chemistry! Adoption Fee: $325 This fee covers spay/neuter when age-appropriate, vaccines to date of adoption, deworming, microchip, and a clean bill of health. Sal is scheduled for neuter at the end of March. Story
Christmas is still waiting for his miracle—a warm, loving foster-to-adopt home where he can finally feel safe and cherished. Rescued on Christmas Eve, this sweet boy has spent far too much time sitting in his crate at the shelter, longing for a family to help him truly shine. Though shy at first, Christmas has already revealed his beautiful personality to us. He’s gentle, kind, and eager to connect with both people and dogs. Every time he sees another pup, his tail wags with excitement, showing his readiness to make new friends. And while he may look like an older boy, deep down, he’s just a big, lovable baby waiting for his chance to be spoiled with affection. What Christmas needs most is a foster-to-adopt home where he can feel safe and supported as he continues to heal from his past. He’s searching for a patient, loving family willing to give him the time and space to grow into the amazing dog we know he is. Everything you need to foster—food, supplies, medical care—is provided. All you have to give is love. Could you be the one to help Christmas finally experience the warmth and comfort he deserves? Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
Humphrey has a long story to tell, its one of sadness, fame, heartbreak, strength, courage, and hopefully it ends with nothing but love. One fateful day Humphrey shows up on a porch with a super heavy chain around his neck and cautiously invites himself inside, the video of which went semi-viral on Instagram. He is fostered by the home owners and begins to trust them and all people- but horrifically is shot in the face by their neighbor while standing on the sidewalk one day. Traumatized and with a fresh jaw fracture repair surgery he is urgently moved to another foster home for his own protection. In his new foster home he is treated with medical care, patience, time, and most importantly love. Flash forward to today- his physical wounds have healed but he still is healing his emotional scars. Humphrey loves ALL dogs - but is nervous of ALL humans at first. Makes sense, right? Humphrey is now scared of the dark, has a phobia of loud sudden noises and frequently stalls out on the leash. BUT he is potty trained, sweet and attentive once you gain his trust. Humphrey is a great versatile player, and can live with small and big dogs of all temperaments. He likes to be chased and loves to play with dog puzzles. Do you and your dogs want to meet this big squishmallow? Are you willing to be patient and keep working with Humphrey to feel safer in the world while celebrating all of the wonderful traits he already has? If so please consider opening your heart and home to this traumatized boy, we are confident you will learn so much about life and love from the relationship you will build with him. When we work to undo the pain our species inflict on animals, we need to first address OUR expectations. What is fair to expect of traumatized animals? Instead of having high expectations of the dog- is it better to open our hearts and expect to have to learn and grow along with the dog? Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Nipsey has now learned all he needs to learn in his foster home and is ready to meet his forever family! This boy has a beautiful, tender personality - on the shy and clingy side! As you can tell from his cropped ears - he suffered significant neglect in his puppyhood. Nipsey needs to live with another dog! Story
Rocco has spent months waiting for a place to call home. At just 10 months old, he’s still learning what it means to feel safe, to trust, and to let his guard down. Found alongside another dog, his past is a mystery, but one thing is clear—this sweet, loyal boy is ready to find a family who will give him the love and patience he needs to truly shine. Once Rocco knows he can trust you, his true personality starts to emerge. He’s affectionate and playful, eager to soak up every bit of love and attention. He’s the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation—he loves going for walks just as much as he loves curling up for a nap. He’s already house and crate trained and knows basic commands like sit, stay, and lay down. While Rocco adores his people, he needs a little extra time to warm up to strangers, especially men. He’s also selective with other dogs and needs slow introductions to feel comfortable. Because of his nervous nature, he wouldn’t do well in a home with children. What Rocco needs most is a calm, patient family willing to show him that the world isn’t such a scary place. He’s looking for someone who will give him the time he needs to trust, and in return, he’ll offer a lifetime of unwavering loyalty and love. If you can be that person for Rocco, he’s more than ready to meet you. Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home. Story
Citrus was living alone in an abandoned house with no doors or windows. We trapped her, and she got very upset. Citrus was growling for many many days, and did not allow any handling. She finally came around to trust us, and is now a loving sweetheart. Citrus wants an understanding foster-to-adopt home, who wants to baby her. She is estimated to be 2-4 years old, and a mix between English Bulldog and Boxer. Citrus has a classic cautious and disapproving yet personable English Bulldog personality, and the silly play style of a Boxer. We are looking for a household without children for Citrus. Leashed walks are fine, she does not require a fenced in yard. Citrus has dog friends at the shelter - but incorporating her into a home dynamic with other dogs will take weeks. If you are up for it, we can discuss. We cover all needed vet care. The adoption fee is $275. Please apply through our website: rebeldogsdetroit.com/applytoadopt
