Story
Dancer was left at a distant shelter as a under-aged puppy at 6 weeks old. He was dirty and timid so the shelter put him with Prancer cattle dog mix puppy also 6 weeks old. We rescued both of them and now they are doing great at their hero puppy foster home. They will get a great start since their foster home is also a trainer. Both are playful and adorable. Dancer seems to be the more outgoing one. More info. to come as they relax and learn. Dancer is more outgoing than Prancer Video from first 2 hours at their foster home. So cute. https://www.facebook.com/FFRescue/videos/1100628651741940 Update from Foster Home 1/3/25: Dancer has grown quite a bit and he is quite a busy guy. More active. He likes to cuddle but he also will wiggle out of your arms if he is full of energy. He can climb over the 2’ dog puppy pen. No cats. He has a confident and maybe sport dog type of personality. FB Video of Dancer and FH's dog playing. So sweet. https://www.facebook.com/FFRescue/videos/1685164315473825April 26, 2025, 12:35 pm

Story
Meet Ludo, the big gentle giant. He has lived in a home with children under 12, teens, men and women in his previous home. Ludo is a big goofy livestock guardian through and through – letting out a bark to let someone know that someone arrived at the property and otherwise, fairly relaxed. His favorite activity is playing in open spaces. He has a female Pyrenees friend and has sniffed to say “hi” to a few friends since his arrival at the Shelter. He has been around chickens, sheep and cats in his previous home. He does well riding in the car. The best part about this big lug – he can howl “I love you”. Be prepared to fall in love with Ludo! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Story
Buddy is a sweet, well-behaved calm dog. Unfortunately, my own dog is not so calm and he and Buddy got into a fight. I got Buddy from a young homeless person, who found him tied to a pole and rescued him. I normally dog sit Buddy occasionally, but his owner has run into some difficult times and can no longer be reached. I really wish Buddy and my dog could co-exist because I really like Buddy (and my own dog!), but they are not ok together. I need to find a foster/permanent home for Buddy asap. Thank you for considering this sweetheart of a dog. He weighs 74 lbs, should weigh around 80, the vet estimated him to be around two years old.
