Story
This sweet and silly young lady is just around 9 months old and ready to find her furever home! Such a friendly, happy, and playful puppers that is going to make the most wonderful and fun addition to any home! Presley Is spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, treated for all of the intestinal parasites, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Because intestinal parasites are cyclical, your puppy may need additional treatment once you get him/her home. This is common and nothing to be alarmed about. Puppies and dogs need to be treated periodically for parasites throughout their entire lives. Visit our website to see our weekend Events here! Pups with the designated “meet me” next to their names are in CT and ready to attend adoption events. Please check with your adoption coordinator if you are interested in a specific dog prior to coming to an event, as a dog's availability to attend can change at any time. We can not guarantee approval on site at the events, so we recommend applying ahead of time. You can apply at the event, but the application process may not be able to be completed the same day. If you are not pre-approved, you are still welcome to come and meet pup’s at the event! The adoption fee is $500 which includes spay/neuter, up to date vaccinations, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, and the mandatory CT HB 5368 fee. This dog tested negative for heartworms. More and more of our adopters are having fun with DNA tests on their pups. You might ask yourself why our breed guess is varying degrees of difference from the DNA tests. Most of our puppies are rescued from high kill shelters or other abandonment situations and we have no info on parents. When we rescue puppies that have no background info, we make our very best educated guess as to breed mix and age. Our guesstimate comes from years and years and years of animal welfare work and training, but our guesses won't always agree with your vet, your neighbor, your DNA test, etc. The most important thing to know about your puppy's breed mix is that most likely he/she is a Super Lovable Mutt made of many many many different breeds. If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at the Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Koda (aka Dot) Nicknames - Koda Nick or Koda Bear Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler/Chow Chow Sex/Age/Weight: Female/3 years old/55 lbs. Vetting: Spayed, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative and on prevention, dewormed, flea/tick/parasite-free, and microchipped House/Crate Trained: Yes/Yes. Koda loves her crate! When it comes to nap time or settling in for the evening Koda goes right in for a snooze. Dogs/Cats/Children: Yes/No/Yes. Koda does very well with medium to large sized dogs and has two furry siblings she loves to wrestle with. She is not comfortable with smaller dogs and cats so it is best that she be the one and only or have a medium to large size dog to hang out with. She loves children of all ages especially when she can cuddle up with them and get belly rubs. Training: Koda is working on her commands and manners. She knows sit, down, and paw, and walks great on a leash. She will need someone to continue to train her so she can be the best girl for you! Working on: Koda is quite the snuggle bunny and sometimes thinks she is a lap dog. She is learning that you can cuddle with your humans without sitting on their lap. She can be vocal about things she wants - dinner, attention, etc., She is an American Idol in the making and is in the process of learning to sing silently and will need someone to continue teaching her it is okay to sing to yourself. Koda has trust issues when it comes to dinner time and prefers to enjoy her meal in her crate. Her foster family is slowly introducing her to others at meal time. Things I like: People! She loves to be around her humans. Snuggling up with them is one of her favorite pastimes. When she is not cuddling up, you will find her playing and running around in the backyard with her siblings or having fun time in the water. Things I don’t like: Being alone or ignored for long periods of time. Koda would love someone who works from home or who is only gone from home for short periods of time. As much as she loves playing in the water, bath time is not her favorite. She doesn’t understand it helps keep her beautiful coat from shedding so much. She will need a daily brushing to help with her shedding as well. Ideal home: Koda would do best where she can get lots of exercise, play time, and attention. A family who has time to be committed to her would be best, preferably with a backyard where she she could hang out with a furry sibling (medium to large sized dogs only). If you are interested in giving me a forever home, please visit the link below to fill out an application! http://fureverafterrescue.org/adoption-application.html It is best to submit an application through a computer. We have experienced some problems when applications have been submitted using a mobile device. *When you submit the application, you are not obligated to adopt however it does reserve for you the opportunity to adopt that particular animal. We review them on a first come first served basis. If your application is approved, we will contact you and allow you the opportunity to adopt. If you choose not to adopt, we will contact the next approved applicant. If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact us and we will be glad to help!

Story
Justice is no longer working out in our home. Crate Trained. NOT leash trained. Acts like he's feral but he never was. I got him at 6 months old and hoped he would grow out of being skittish with time and maturity but he has not. He would do best in a home with an adult who is experienced with training and willing to devote the time to a difficult dog. He would make a great companion/hunting dog if trained as he likes to chase squirrels and rodents. I do not recommend him being around cats (he killed one of mine) or kids. He does love female dogs his size as a companion.

Story
Meet Tess! She’s a five-year-old, 38lb. Australian Cattle Dog mix that has been loved on since she was adopted at nine weeks old. Sadly the owner's home life has changed and they can no longer provide Tess with the life she deserves. She is urgently seeking a new family. Tess loves being outside in all weather (raised in the Northeast, she’s not afraid of snow). Like her breed, Tess is a protector and worker. She’ll patrol her property all day if you let her - warding off wild critters (squirrels) and barking at anyone who approaches her home (for friends the barks are met with a wagging tail, strangers she’ll look to her humans as to whether or not they need her “help”). She loves the freedom to run freely and that’s our hope for her new home. The current owners also want to find a person(s) that’s home often to allow her outdoor freedom as well as companionship.   She has taken her humans to obedience school where she got A+’s while her humans got a D- for providing little follow through afterward. Tess has the basics down (sit, come, down, stay) but we know she would excel if someone took the time to work with her. She’s a fast learner and to her, it’s a job (and she LOVES a job - especially if the pay is a training treat like string cheese). What would NOT work for Tess: being cooped up alone for extended periods of time. She’s housebroken and not a crate pup. She should also NOT be placed in a household with kids younger than teenagers AND other pets (including dogs and cats). Tess needs to be your one and only pet. While she’s been great with their kids (now teens), was raised with a crabby cat, and has a few dog friends in the neighborhood, she’s too unpredictable and despite the family's efforts, not well socialized. They know her lunging after dogs or snipping when startled by active kiddos is her response to being a protector. Could she be trained otherwise? Maybe but the current owners want to avoid any harm or heartache if placed in the wrong home. Tess is a sweet girl when she feels safe and secure and will do anything for her people. Her adoption fee is $400 and she’s UTD on all her vaccinations and recently had her annual physical. She is given her monthly heartworm and flea/tick treatments, and other than needing her anal glands expressed by the vet 3-4 times a year, she’s in excellent health! If you are interested in giving Tess a chance at a wonderful new life, please submit an application at https://form.jotform.com/200883908893166. For questions, please call the current owner Emily at (203) 885-3918.
