Story
Jean is quite a gal. She is a 2 year old shepherd mix who weighs 40 pounds. Jean has a medium to medium-high level of energy. She loves going for a good walk or run, but then settles for a nap afterward. Once Jean learns the rules of the house, she's an easy-going girl who's friendly and affectionate. She's also a smart and responsive dog who loves to learn. She would enjoy participating with her humans in activities such as agility or trick dog training. She likes the company of other dogs (after a proper introduction) and children aged 12 and older. She has not been introduced to cats.Jean is fully house trained and crate trained. Her leash training is in process, but consistency and patience from her family will help her to become a pro at this skill. The ideal home for Jean is one that has the time, energy, and desire to provide her with regular mental and physical exercise, training, and lots of socialization. Jean is looking to be your plus-one on outdoor family outings. The adoption fee for Jean is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. Story
Puppy tails go hand in hand with puppy tales and this adorable guy is ready to bring his family lots of puppy play, kisses and stories. This is Tango, a 10-month-old Australian Cattle Dog/Chihuahua mix full of puppy zest to bring excitement into his forever family. He is not expected to get too large but is estimated to weigh anywhere up to 25 pounds. Tango is currently 19 pounds, and he is just a doll. Those ears are his trademark which add to his adorable look. He has lots of spunk with his puppy energy so he will do well with an average active family. Tango appreciates the company of other dogs and kids so perhaps he will have one or both in his forever home. If not, he will enjoy regular outings to meet new friends and interact with the local community. Tango loves a game of frisbee and can mingle and keep up with bigger and smaller dogs. He is a fast runner and loves to play tag with other dogs. Since rescue Tango has not had the opportunity to meet any felines so it is not known if he would be accepting of a feline companion. When not playing outside, he loves to lay in the sun. On his down time, he enjoys bones and toys. Tango is an expert cuddler so get ready for a real snuggle bug to accompany you on the sofa for bed. He will gladly warm you up on cold nights and sleep late on a lazy morning. Tango is house and crate trained but still working on his leash training. He will run into his crate to eat or sleep. It is important to remember that although Tango is house trained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. Tango will benefit from regular exercise, continued training and lots of socialization. He is looking forward to the next chapter of his life. He is looking forward to sharing lots of memories and snuggles with his new family. Life will be grand with Tango in your arms and life. The adoption fee for Tango is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. Story
OK, we will say it up front. We just know this boy will not be available for long. Sweet Pete is a male Cattle Dog mix with a striking blue merle coat. One year old and nearly fully grown, he currently weighs 50 pounds and is expected to be a medium sized pooch (under 60 pounds) at maturity. Pete, along with his sibling Squeaky, was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter. We are serious when we say he is a sweet one and a gem of a boy. Cuddly and well behaved, this boy thoroughly enjoys running in the yard and cozy naps in a quiet corner. He is a high energy guy that will need a good amount of daily physical and mental stimulation. He would be a great candidate for canine agility training. Once he works out his energy, he will settle down for a long nap and he does well sleeping through the night on his own comfy bed. Pete would greatly enjoy a family with a fenced yard that would give him ample opportunities to run around and work off his energy. Perhaps an equally energetic canine sibling will be in his forever family. He is great with children of all sizes and other dogs. His behavior around cats is unknown at this time.Pete wants to impress, and he knows that his house-training skills really do the trick, so he has worked hard at it and is trained. He is still working on his leash and crate training so he will need more practice in both skills. It is important to remember that although Pete is house trained, accidents can occur while he is adjusting to a new home environment. He is a smart boy and has learned the commands of sit, lay down, stay and wait which we think is super impressive. Way to go Pete! Pete will be awesome in a loving home where there is an ongoing commitment to providing training, socialization and plenty of daily exercise. And tons of affection, too. He is more than ready to settle in and become an amazing, lifelong companion. You will lose if you snooze, so submit your application today. The adoption fee for Pete is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
