Story
Hi Friend!. Thats my name too! Can you imagine having a home and someow getting loose and you end up here!? Don`t get me wrong they are nice here and I get to go outside but it can be scary and loud! All my dog friends are all experiencing the same thing. When I arrived I was very afraid and unsure of my future. I know now, I`ll have a great future ahead in a home like yours. As, I said before I do go outside and I really like it, a fenced in yard would be a dream for a dog like me.A couple things to note about me is I`m a picky eater, I like some food over others but once I find a food I like it`s a win win. I`m terrible at walking on a leash. I am so excited to go outside I pull a bit too hard. I know when we find the right home it won`t be an issue for me and I can learn to be better. I like to play with other dogs. Introduce us slowly at first and I can play all day. I prefer hanging out with you than playing with toys but a nice ball to fetch is always fun. As for cats, I honestly don`t know. I`ll be there for you(When the rain starts to pour)I`ll be there for you(Like I`ve been there before)I`ll be there for you(`Cause you`re there for me too)I look forward to meeting you and paws crossed come home with you.Love and dog kissesFriend.JOIN US FOR THE BISSELL PET FOUNDATION EMPTY THE SHELTERS ADOPTION EVENT HAPPENING MAY 1-15!We will be open Saturday, May 4 from 10am-3pm for a unique `May the Forth be with You Event - THE SHELTER BARKS BACK!

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application (DOG: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=26, CAT: https://service.sheltermanager.com/asmservice?account=dr1937&method=online_form_html&formid=41, EXOTICS: https://us14b.sheltermanager.com/onlineform_view?formid=46) completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 50-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will continue to perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Story
We are rehoming our sweet pup Marlo. She’s 4 years old, 23lbs, spayed and up-to-date with vaccines. She’s a super unique mix but mainly Australian cattle dog and fox terrier. We adopted her as a puppy in 2020 but she unfortunately didn’t adjust well recently to having two infants at home. She’ll come with all remaining food, treats, dog beds, toys, leashes, etc. She takes a daily allergy pill for seasonal allergies. She loves playing fetch and cuddling. She’s a very well behaved dog and house trained. She is high energy so she would excel in a home with an active lifestyle and without young children (which heightened her anxiety). References required. Rehoming fee is $250. Can provide additional details if needed.

Story
Stripes is a 1 y/o (dob 8/20/22) neutered male dog. He is medium in size weighing around 35-40#. Stripes brindle color and body shape lead is to believe he is a Cattle Dog/Shepherd mix. He is up to date on vaccines, neutered, chipped, heartworm negative, and on prevention. Stripes has been around a 3 y/o child and did well but was a bit skittish of kid activity. Therefore, we believe Stripes would be more comfortable with older kids. He loves other dogs and plays well with others. Stripes knows to do his business outside and keeps the house and his kennel clean. He can be shy at first but warms up quickly. He does well with other dogs and they help him build his confidence. Stripes loves his human and likes to be close to them when he isn’t playing with other dogs. He does put himself in his kennel while his foster mom gets her work done. Stripes may take a while to warm up but once he's comfortable he's very loving. He is very loyal to his main human. He feels comfort in his crate and enjoys furry toys. Stripes is a laid back guy who loves nothing more than a cozy bed, belly rubs and human snuggles. Stripes loves car rides and does well just in the car and not in a crate. This sweet boy is looking for a caring home that will help him continue to build his confidence. He is being taken care of in TN but no worries because we use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.

Story
Esther came to our shelter as a medical case due to a vaginal prolapse. Now that she is spayed, she should never have that issue again. Esther is one of our temperament tester dogs that helps us test if other dogs are dog friendly, and she walks beautifully on a leash. Esther is high energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and to be with people. She has tested well with dogs and is currently untested with cats, but we can test if needed. Esther is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org . If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. We partner with the awesome transport service company Rescue Riders to safely and professionally move our animals to their loving new homes!

Story
This baby and siblings were found by a passerby on the side of a street. They are a beautiful bunch of colors!! Some speckled, some merle, a couple brown and a lone black and white pup. They are very friendly and would be fine in any type of family environment. They will need the basic puppy training but will adjust to any routine given to them. They have no experience with cats so that will need to be a bridge to cross if needed. These babies are quite calm for their breed, maybe they'll grow into more energy?! They seem a little standoffish but warm up to people and they do like to play (especially with shoe laces). These are a sweet bunch of babies and all they need now is a forever family. We transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
