We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hello, my name is Rocky. I am a very young Cattle dog mix, and am looking for a particular home to thrive in. I am a very sweet boy, but very nervous of new people and new situations. I tend to woof and woof when I meet a stranger, but once I sniff and they give me some yummy treats, I get more comfortable. I get scared of new places, so am looking for a very calm and peaceful home to settle into, with an adopter that is patient and has lots of time to dedicate to a young dog like myself. I would do best with VERY calm and respectful dog friends if you have one, and a fenced yard. I have been known to get a little anxious when home alone because I just love spending time with my person so much, so someone that has time for a young boy like me will be important. I would love some fun brain games and puzzle toys, as us working breeds love to have tasks and be kept busy! If you have the calm and peaceful home I will need to settle into, and the patient, loving, and kind heart I'm looking for, then I cannot wait to meet you!

Story
This story is from Kevins rescuer, the police officer. We got a call about a puppy being tied on a vacant properties porch and possibly someone trespassing on the property. Once I arrived on the property, no one could be located, but the puppy was tied to a porch railing and left with no food or water. I contacted John with Baker Bridge Rescue who agreed to help me, of which I was very grateful. I then secured the pup shortly after. A couple folks floating on the river were very relieved to see the dog being taken care of!. Since getting Kevin home with us, he has gained weight and found that people can be good. He is learning potty training and playing with the other dogs. He loves playing with toys. If you are interested in learning more about Kevin (puppy), please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application. Once we review it, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
Smokey is a 1 year old neutered, up to date on shots, male blue heeler, around 45lbs, he’s good with kids and other dogs, he’s not mean or aggressive with cats he just hasn’t been around many. He needs a home with someone that’s willing to take the time and train him, he’s currently living in a pen and has so much built up energy, so when anyone goes in to feed him he jumps on them. He just wants a family to call his own and throw his ball for him and let him be part of a family, in the house with them. He’s very sweet and loving and very very smart , which without a active family to help entertain him, can get him in trouble, he’s all puppy and playfulness. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport
