Hutch is gorgeous and loyal 7 month old male Blue Heeler mix that we rescued from a farm outside of Detroit. He is completely house-trained. He loves playing with toys, balls, sticks, and loves running and going on walks. He absolutely loves the local dog parks. Our family loves this adorable boy but, sadly, he is not a good fit in our household as he is too reactive with kids. Out of the abundance of safety, we can no longer keep him. With determination and extensive training, I bet he will make a good family dog but at this time will only entertain applications from experienced adopters preferably with history of owning herding dogs and without any children.

Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). Buster is a 3 year old Cattle dog mix that came from a rescue at 2 months old, birthing day was 8-14-23 home day was 10-15-23.As a puppy-typical velociraptor cattle dog, always chomping at human hands. Food motivated but not food aggressive. Knows basic commands, is goofy & stubborn. Knows many words & phrases but also has selective hearing & cleans his feet/legs like a cat. Grew up with 2 adult house cats and 4 outside cats-still isn't cat friendly. Too reactive for dog friends-makes walks a challenge, overly alert & protective on walks, especially at night due to critters & people. If he sees a skunk he will attempt to drag me across the street-haven't been skunked yet! His nemesis are the neighborhood squirrels! He loves to be outside in all weather but dislikes hot humid days. He would be better suited to a bigger yard or countryside with a man in charge of him & no small animals. Includes his 4x4 folding kennel.
