Story
We are rehoming our sweet pup Marlo. She’s 4 years old, 23lbs, spayed and up-to-date with vaccines. She’s a super unique mix but mainly Australian cattle dog and fox terrier. We adopted her as a puppy in 2020 but she unfortunately didn’t adjust well recently to having two infants at home. She’ll come with all remaining food, treats, dog beds, toys, leashes, etc. She takes a daily allergy pill for seasonal allergies. She loves playing fetch and cuddling. She’s a very well behaved dog and house trained. She is high energy so she would excel in a home with an active lifestyle and without young children (which heightened her anxiety). References required. Rehoming fee is $250. Can provide additional details if needed.

Story
Meet Foxy! With ears any pup would envy, Foxy is an adorable 50-pound, three-year-old cattle dog mix who is ready for a family that will love her the way she deserves. Right from the start, Foxy does not disappoint! She is one smart gal and knows several commands including "sit, down, shake, come, and stay". She is also house-trained and crate-trained! Foxy is easy to please and loves all sorts of toys including kongs and bones. Foxy is a pup that thrives off of affection and isn't afraid to ask for some love! She enjoys kisses from our volunteers and deserves all the love you can give. Foxy is great on a leash and is ready to follow you wherever you want to go. She also makes a great running buddy! True to her breed, Foxy does love to herd and will benefit from daily exercise and lots of enrichment to help keep her happily engaged and mentally stimulated. A fenced-in yard for her to explore is a must for her! As she is still a young lady, she will benefit from continued training in her new home. Based on our evaluation, we feel Foxy would do best in an calm, predictable home with adults or families with kids ages 16 and up. She may have the potential to live with other dogs of a similar size and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby! She does have a dominant play style and will need to go to a home with no small animals due to her prey drive. If Foxy sounds like the pup you've been longing for, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and apply for this darling girl!

Story
Meet Daphne! Daphne arrived at GLDR in January with her litter mates Davy, Dani, Demitri and Dahlia. She is a spunky six-month-old, 35-pound heeler mix who is looking forward to the rest of her life with you! One of the cutest pups around, she deserves homes full of toys, treats, and all the love you can give! Daphne had a rough start in life, so let's make sure she only has the best days ahead! Daphne is the LAST one of her siblings waiting to be adopted, so let's not have her wait any longer! Loving and loyal, Daphne's tail never stops wagging! She survived a house fire and has an eager appreciation for life! Adopting a puppy is a long-term commitment that takes a lot of patience and dedication. Daphne will need a family that has the time to train her and help mold her into the best adult dog that she can be! She will benefit from daily exercise, lots of mental stimulation and her very own yard to enjoy. Based on our evaluation, we feel Daphne would do best in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. She may have the potential to live with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. Please head to greatlakesdogrescue.com to fill out an application today!

We do our best to provide information that will help determine if the animal might be a good fit for you. Please note that behaviors may change in a home environment. We also ask our applicants to assume that any animal they adopt from us will need to be potty-trained and learn house manners, although this is not always the case. In most cases, the listed breeds are also a best guess. Our online animal bios are designed to provide as much information as possible and answer some anticipated questions. We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions. We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay on Petfinder until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peak your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Esther came to our shelter as a medical case due to a vaginal prolapse. Now that she is spayed, she should never have that issue again. Esther is one of our temperament tester dogs that helps us test if other dogs are dog friendly, and she walks beautifully on a leash. Esther is high energy and loves to play, but also loves her snuggles and to be with people. She has tested well with dogs and is currently untested with cats, but we can test if needed. Esther is heartworm negative, spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for her new home. This furbaby is located at Animal Harbor in southern middle TN. You can apply at www.animalharbor.org . If approved, we will facilitate a virtual meet and greet and answer any questions you may have. Story
This baby and siblings were found by a passerby on the side of a street. They are a beautiful bunch of colors!! Some speckled, some merle, a couple brown and a lone black and white pup. They are very friendly and would be fine in any type of family environment. They will need the basic puppy training but will adjust to any routine given to them. They have no experience with cats so that will need to be a bridge to cross if needed. These babies are quite calm for their breed, maybe they'll grow into more energy?! They seem a little standoffish but warm up to people and they do like to play (especially with shoe laces). These are a sweet bunch of babies and all they need now is a forever family. We transport every weekend alternating between the Northeast and the Midwest. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport.
