Her foster mom shares: Dee was very scared at first, but within days her silly, sweet personality came out. She’s loving, active, fully house trained (no accidents), and crate trained. She plays great with other playful dogs and walks beautifully on a leash. She's right around 35 lbs. She will continue to gain confidence as she is introduced to new situations. She is full on cattle dog in the energy department and will need a family able to meet her exercise needs, both physical and mental. She needs a fenced yard. She’s respectful of older cats but may chase younger ones, so a cat-free home might be best. Dee had hip surgery in February but has healed and it's not slowing her down. She's currently walking 2+ miles per day and has tried trail running and hiking and did great. And yes—she’s just as sweet cute as her pictures. She wins everyone over as soon as she meets them!

He has had one owner since he was a puppy. Zuko needs lots of exercise and he loves to go to the nearby park daily and play fetch or chase his herding ball in order to meet his exercise needs. Currently this sweet baby is with our rescue, The Artemis Project, in Arkansas. We DO, however, transport monthly to the metro Detroit area of MI. Because we’re able to transport, we ARE able to accept adoption applications directly from residents of MI. Why do we transport? Because animal overpopulation is severe in our region, and stray and unwanted dogs have very little chance of finding a home here. These babies are, however, at a high risk of being neglected, abused, abandoned, euthanized or even shot (it’s “the way things are done” for some people down here). YOU are truly one of the only safe and happy endings for the lucky ones we are able to rescue. Upon approval of your adoption application, we will then transport your new furbaby to you in the metro Detroit area for just a small travel expense fee of $50 in addition to the adoption fee.
