Story
Gregory, the charming hound mix, captivates all who meet him with his striking white and red coat and endearing personality. He is very friendly towards both people and other dogs, and he has many doggy friends at the shelter. His impeccable leash manners and love for outdoor adventures make him a delightful companion for walks and explorations, his boundless energy and playful spirit shining through as he eagerly explores the world around him! Sweet Gregory can be a bit timid and shy at times, making him best suited to live with adults and older children. He also loves his people so deeply that he struggles when left alone, something he can overcome with patience and understanding from his adopters. We think Gregory will thrive in a low-traffic home with a loving family, and perhaps a canine sibling to play with! He is cute as a button and has so much affection to give; he will certainly be a devoted companion to whoever is lucky enough to adopt him.

Story
This pretty Heeler mix is Clover, the happiest girl with the most beautiful smile! She is young, athletic and playful; she loves life and her joy is so refreshing. Clover is highly intelligent and loves to learn, she quickly mastered skills such as "come" and "sit." She is also very social and plays nicely with other dogs, and she enjoys exploring the trails with PAWS staff and volunteers! Clover recently spent time in a foster home, and her family shared these wonderful notes about her: "Clover has the kindest and most genuine personality, she is super affectionate and just adores people! She is very well-behaved in the house, she tip-toes around and is very careful not to disturb anything. Clover gets along beautifully with our other dogs, including several PAWS foster siblings. She also adores our kids, she is so sweet and gentle with them. She really enjoys snuggling close to us, and she rolls over onto her back for belly rubs. Clover also likes car rides and I take her everywhere with me. She is very well-behaved in public and she enjoys shopping at Tractor Supply! Sweet Clover is housebroken, crate trained, and she knows many basic commands. She does have a lot of youthful energy, and she will most certainly appreciate a large yard for morning zoomies and playing fetch. We absolutely adore this sweet girl, whoever adopts her will be blessed with a loving and loyal friend for life." Clover has attended several PAWS off-site adoption events, where she always greets everyone with polite sniffs and kisses. She is quite the social butterfly and loves being the center of attention! We think Clover will be a wonderful addition to any family lucky enough to adopt her. She is a true beauty, both inside and out.

Story
Orion, the handsome Australian Red Heeler mixed breed, is a testament to resilience and loyalty. Rescued from the San Marcos animal shelter after a prolonged stay, this large adult dog longs to find his forever home. Orion is housebroken, proving himself to be an ideal companion for any household. Despite his rough start, Orion's affectionate nature shines through, endearing him to all who cross his path. While some might expect a high-energy demeanor from a cattle dog mix, Orion breaks the stereotype with his surprising love for relaxation. A true couch potato at heart, he revels in the simple pleasures of lounging indoors, content to soak up the warmth of his human's company. However, don't let his love for leisure fool you-Orion's eyes light up with excitement at the mention of a game of fetch. His boundless enthusiasm for this classic pastime is infectious, bringing joy to all who join in the fun. Despite his gentle disposition, Orion is discerning when it comes to his canine companions. Selective in his interactions, he prefers the company of dogs who share his easygoing demeanor and respect his personal space. With the right match, Orion's loyalty knows no bounds, forging bonds that withstand the test of time.

Story
Simon’s mother was found in a rural area we help and she was clearly pregnant. She was picked up by animal control and taken to a shelter. The shelters we help are all outdoors and it was very cold. We knew her puppies wouldn’t survive if she gave birth in the shelter. Thankfully, an awesome foster agreed to take the mama into her home so she and her puppies would be safe. Now, Simon and his siblings are 7 weeks old and they’re ready to find families of their own. They have been raised with their mama and caring people, so they’re happy healthy pups. Simon has been with cats, adult dogs, children and even farm animals as she’s grown. He is playful, crate trained and is learning to potty outside. His mama weighs 33 pounds so we think he’ll be medium sized when he is full grown. His mama is a Cattle dog mix, but we don’t know anything about the daddy dog. Simon has been vaccinated twice for DHPP, bordetella vaccinated, microchipped and is current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention. He will arrive in the PNW on 2/19. Story
Smarty is a soft, fluffy, 8 year-old Thai basenji mix. She is a stray that we rescued in Thailand in 2016. True to her name, she is a very aware and intelligent dog and is highly trainable. She loves running and playing, but her real passion is swimming. She is about 40lbs and is leash, muzzle and crate trained. She's fully house broken and can be left alone without being destructive. She's a great hiking companion and does not try to run away. We have a 1 year-old daughter who is just starting to walk, and sometimes Smarty has growled at her through the gate. Smarty is not an aggressive dog, but she can be territorial about food and toys and we just can't risk a bad interaction. Smarty is not aggressive toward other dogs, but she can be aversive toward some dogs. Although she can also be very playful. We recommend she be in a home without children or other pets. She loves to be in the same room as us, and will come up and ask for pets on occasion, but isn't overly needy.

Story
We need to rehome my beloved Chewie. A heartbreaking decision. We have a newborn and Chewie does best in a child-free home. Chewie is an Australian Cattle Dog, Australian Shepard & Golden Retriever, 6 years old, and 55 pounds. He is housetrained, chipped, and fixed. He can sit, lay down, place, stay and heal. He is sweet, independent, loyal, playful, smart and beautiful. He has been boarded, has been to doggie daycare, and is friendly with other dogs (but leash-reactive). He is friendly with a cat (but most likely would need to be re-trained to accept a new cat in his life). We adopted Chewie when he was 2 - found abandoned on the side of a road in a crate. He is fearful and reserved initially and needs a little time to warm up to new people and situations. He gets anxious in loud and crowded places. Does best in calmer environments. He is leash-reactive, has received training and has improved a lot. Looking for a patient loving soul. He will love you back with immense sweetness.

Story
This sweet girl is Nellie. She loves people & has done well with other dogs. She likes attention and is the life of the party! She is known for charming everyone she meets. She is chipped, spayed, vaccinated, healthy, potty trained, crate trained & knows basic commands. She will be a great companion and pet. Nellie was adopted by my sister & my sister quickly realized how much time and effort comes with raising a puppy. I took over to help find Nellie a new home because I think rehoming to an experienced owner and also someone with a yard or who is active is going to be what is best for Nellie.

Story
Echo was adopted from a farm in South Dakota originally. She came to Texas with us and has been here for about a year and a half. She is 3 years old and has the best personality. She loves being outside for walks and to chase the ball, and will always happily take your fatty meat scraps for a sit and roll over. She is so sweet and will come put her head on your leg or lay at your feet while you work. She will always let you know when she has to go outside and has not gone to the bathroom in the house since she was a puppy. She has a little wiggle butt that goes crazy whenever you take out her leash! She needs a loving new home as we got a job offer overseas that we cannot turn down.

Story
Artemis is a 3 month old blue heeler puppy whose very loving and playful.. he has been super and loves to cuddle up right next to you for bed. I need to rehome him because I'm a single stay at home mom with an autistic 4 yr old son and my son isn't displaying the nicest behavior towards Artemis and I have to constantly keep him away from the dog which isn't fair to Artemis or my son . My son gets jealous of me and the dog and acts out I'm worried that they may accidentally hurt one another badly so I need to prevent that from happening. Artemis needs a new home ASAP please . I am completely overwhelmed and stressed I would really like Artemis to go to a good home where he can run around free and have fun letting out his wonderful silly puppy energy. He's a great dog...
